(Phone buzzing) - Hey, Erin. What's up? - [Erin] I've made a royal stuff up and I need your help. - Go on. - [Erin] I gave you the wrong dates for that flyer you uploaded to the website. I really made a mess this time. - No, you haven't. I embedded it as a link so I can change it on Canva within minutes. - [Erin] Seriously, within minutes? On Canva? - What's the day meant to be? - [Erin] The 23rd. - There you go. Check the website now. - [Erin] Are you kidding me? You've already done it.? That's
unreal. - That's the beauty of embedded links. You can change them in real time and it's simple to do. - [Erin] Thank you so much. I owe you one, that's amazing. - Wanna know how to embed a live design into your website? Stick around and I'll show you how. (upbeat music) Hi, I'm Arturo, a design educator and content lead for nonprofits here at Canva. In today's tutorial, I'm gonna explain what it means to embed a design link into a website, blog or learning management system, and the benefits o
f doing so. Stick around and I'll even show you how easy it is to embed a link within a Canva design like this website or even third party sites like WordPress or Articulate. But before we go any further make sure you've subscribed to our channel. That way you'll receive notifications each time a video like this drops. Alright, let's start with the basics. Say you run a travel blog and you are regularly uploading photos to publish on a content management system like Blogger but one day you go to
a upload an image And you get a message like this. Do you A, purchase more storage? B, delete some older content? C. forgo posting photos altogether? or learn how to embed links so that you don't have to worry about storage limits or low times. Since you're already watching this video I hope you answer D. Embedding links not only frees up storage space but it also enables you to edit content in real time without the need to delete or re-upload files. Let me show you what I mean. Here's a banner
I created on Canva using a template. To embed this design into a WordPress website, I'll go to share. Then click here and select embed. For sites like WordPress and Medium, you can simply copy the link rather than the code and then paste it in like this. Let's check out how this looks. Now, let me show you how easy it is to edit the image even when it's live on the site. Let's say I want to extend the offer for another week. All I need to do is head back to Canva, And change the text like this.
Actually, while I'm here, I might change the image as well. Something a little bit more enticing. Now, I'll refresh the page and ta-da. The design updates automatically and there's no disruption to anyone browsing the site. That's awesome, isn't it? Wanna see something even cooler? This feature isn't just for text and image. You can embed more complex designs like slight presentations and even videos. First, let's explore how featuring a slight presentation could come in handy. Say you manage a
website like this and have pages of information to share with your audience but you don't have a blog section or a layout that supports endless scrolling. The perfect solution, a slight presentation that can feature up to a hundred pages. Now, I'm not saying you should include a hundred pages, by any means, but it's nice to know it's an option. Since this website is centered around healthy eating I'll make this about Super foods. Here's a slight presentation I made earlier. I'll grab the embed
link from the share menu and insert it into the website. Let's see what it looks like. (upbeat music) The benefits of keeping all the text inside the presentation means you can change it as often as you like, without even needing to log into your website's editing platform. For example, say I wanted to include another super food. All I need to do is just jump back into Canva change the heading from five to six, and then at an extra page to the design. When I'm done, I'll head back to the website
refresh the page, and review the changes. It really is that simple. Before we move on to embedding a video, let me show you one more trick relating to websites built on Canva. Some of you may not be aware but Canva allows you to create simple websites like this one, which you can make from scratch or using a template. Personally, I'm a fan of the templates because you can start inspired and save a tonne of time and effort. (upbeat music) Just change the tabs like this and add the pages you need
. I'll add a new page here for a slight presentation I created in a separate document. Now that's ready. I'll change tabs and grab the link to embed. I'll copy the link, then head back to the website design and use my keyboard shortcuts to paste. This is the quickest way to add the link. You can also go to more and then find the embed button. I'll resize this and then it's ready to go. Let's check it out. (upbeat music) The first time I saw that my mind was blown. Let me know in the comments whe
ther you are as impressed by that feature as I am, and if you plan on giving it a go. Alright, last up. I'll show you how to add a training video to a learning management system like Articulate. First, let me play it for you. (Jaz music playing) I made it from scratch using uploaded footage and animations, and if you're new to making videos on Canva I'd recommend watching one of our other tutorials to help you get started. Since this design is ready to share I'll go ahead and create a link to em
bed it. Now, I've got this. I can go to articulate (upbeat music) and copy it in here. Let's see if it worked, and boom, it's done. (upbeat music) I bet you weren't expecting it to be so easy. It's the designs you need to focus on. Once you've got those sorted, it's smooth sailing. And even designing can be a breeze, if you use templates. Speaking of which, what do you plan on making first? A banner, a slight presentation, a video or something else? Let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear
how this video has impacted your thinking. Sorry, I need to get this. Hi, Erin - [Erin] Oh yeah, that new date I gave you? Yes. Sorry, that was wrong as well. - Ah, okay. Maybe I should show you how to update it yourself? - [Erin] Is it easy? - Really easy. (upbeat music) Woohoo. You made it to the end. I'm guessing you find this video useful. If you think others might benefit from it too please share it with your friends or colleagues and hit the light button so others can see it too. Got time
for another. Check out these topics. Oh, and don't forget to subscribe to our channel if you haven't already. You won't wanna miss out on what's coming next.
