Knitting Sweater for Pets The pattern of this work can be seen by clicking on SHOW MORE right below, on video description Hello people, in this video I'm going to show you... ... how to make a dog clothing. I've made this one... ... after several searches, I got this result. This is a size P outfit... ... it is made in two parts... ... this bigger part here... ... and this smaller part here... .. with that fitting detail... ...in the collar. Then there is ... ...the opening... ... for the legs..
. On the video, I'm making one in beige... ... which has sleeves. There, I explain how to put the sleeves... ...this model can have sleeves... ... or not. Along with the pattern I will describe... ... various sizes, with the number of stitches to be placed... ... and how many centimeters... ... but it's just a hint... In order to make for the exact size of the pet... ... you have to measure the pet to be able to develop its own size and then follow the way of making it in the video. Hence, it is
possible to make it for any size. For this outfit, I used a needle number 5... ... and the wool, I used Mollet. But it can be any wool... ... compatible with the needle number 5. The length is 41 centimeters. And I made this size P pattern... .... for a shih tzu dog... ... and also, that little beige outfit from the video is for a ... ... Scottish Terrier dog. Its race. So, the outfits are all for small pets, the Lhasa Apso for instance... ... and many other races that have the same... ... thi
s same stature. The width is 21 cm... ...during the explanation in the video, I will pass the other clothes measures. ... for you. So let's begin the explanatory video. To make the dog clothes... ... I'll put 50 stitches on the needle. ... after I putt 50 stitches on the needle... ... because it is for P size... ... I will make 1x1 rib stitch. ... one purl stitch... ... one knit stitch..... ... a purl stitch... ... one knit stitch... ... a purl stitch... ... one knit stitch... ... until the end
of the row. I finished the first row... ... now I return on the second... ... following the stitches as they appear, making the... ...rib stitch 1x1. So it's one purl stitch... ... one knit stitch... ... one purl stitch... ... one knit stitch... ... a purl stitch... ... one knit stitch... ... and I keep making that... ... one purl stitch, one knit stitch, one purl stitch, one knit stitch... following the rib stitch sequence for two rows... ... on the wrong and on the right side of the work... ..
. until I get a rib stitch piece with 10 centimeters long. I made 10 cm of 1x1 rib stitch... ... after I made 10 centimeters in rib stitch... ...I'll make... ... one row in purl stitch. Finishing the row in purl stitch... I made this row in purl stitch where will be the right side of the work... ... where I leave this yarn... ...due I'm left-handed... ... this starting yarn is on the left side... ... whoever is right-handed... ...the yarn will be at right side... ...and the row in purl stitch w
ill follow from right to left . Because when I fold the collar... ... the finished part of the border will stay on the right side of the work. So... ...in that next row... ... I'll make it in knit stitch. Given that, at the beginning of the row... ... which will be in knit stitch, I make... ...2 purl stitches... ... to start the row... ... the remainder in knit stitch... ... reaching the end of the row... ... I also make 2 purl stitches. Next row... ... I make all of it in purl stitch. After I m
ade the entire row in purl stitch, which will be the wrong side of the work... ... I get back to the right side of the work... ... and again I make... ... 2 purl stitches... ... the remainer in knit stitch... ... and reaching the end of the row, I finish with 2 purl stitches. So, I continue working on this way... ... 2 purl stitches... ... the entire row in knit stitch... ... and 2 purl stitches. The wrong side all in purl stitch. That explanation I gave to fold the collar... ... it's only a det
ail because I wish that where is the knit stitch... ... stay together with the right side of the rib stitch's border... Nothing prevents either... ... that it be made backwards... .. that is, using this not so good aspect of the rib stitch border... ... be considered as the right side as well. It will be the will of each of you. No problems... ... because nothing changes in the job. And we are going making it like this... ...knit stitch on the right side with 2 purl stitches on each side of the
edges...... ...and the wrong side all in purl stitch... ..until it is about 18 centimeters long. I count it here where... ... completing these rows of garter stitch, formed by those 2 purl stitches of the edges... ... until completing 20 rows of garter stitch. I made 18 centimeters with rows in knit stitch on the right side of the work... ... and purl stitch on the wrong side and these 2 purl stitches on the border on the right side... And here it was formed... ... by counting the garter rows, 2
0 rows in garter stitch. And now in order to make that rounding in the clothes... ... I'll make some decreases... ... and these decreases will be made on the wrong side of the work... ...always catching two stitches together at the beginning... ... following the entire row in purl stitch... Getting the end of the row in purl stitch... .. I catch two stitches together in purl stitch. So, I return... ... on the right side of the work and now I don't make two purl stitches on the edge... I'll make
only one purl stitch at the edges. I make one purl stitch... ... and I follow the whole row in knit stitch. Getting the end of the row in knit stitch... ... I also make one purl stitch as an edge stitch. Returning to the wrong side of work... ... in this row I don't make decrease... ... I just make all of it... ...in purl stitch. Finishing the entire row in purl stitch without decreasing... .. then I go to the right side of the work making all of it in knit stitch... ... always beginning and fin
ishing that row with an edge stitch in purl stitch. After finished that right side row... ... with the edge stitches... ... I return here on the wrong side and make a decrease again. I catch two stitches together... ... I follow the entire row in purl stitch... ..and I catch the last two stitches together as well. And from here I go making... ... the right side of the work in knit stitch with one edge stitch in purl on each side... ... then I come to the wrong side... ...in one wrong side row I
make a decrease and in the other wrong side row I don't... ... the other I do and in the other I don't... . .. until remains 40 stitches of the needle. This pattern will be all written... ... just click on SHOW MORE, right below this video or on my blog: www.oficinaregina.blogspot.com I made alternate rows of wrong side of the work with decreases, that is, in one yes and in the next no, and so on. ... and now from here... ... when I get 40 stitches on the needle... ... I'll make the decreases...
... IN ALL ROWS of the wrong side of the work. I won't make any decreases on the rows of the right side of the work. I will just make the edge stitches in purl stitch on each side... ... and here on the wrong side of work... ... I catch 2 stitches together... ...at the beginning... ... follow the row... ... in purl stitch until the end... ... and when I get here... ... I catch 2 stitches together. I return on the right side row... ... all in knit stitch... ... with the edge stitches... ... back
to the wrong side of work again... ... I catch two stitches together. And I keep making it until remains 20 stitches on the needle. Let me show you how it has done so far.. ... the rounded... ... remained 20 stitches on the needle. And now I will bind off these stitches. Here on the wrong side of work. ... I can bind them off really simple way... ... I catch 2... ... and give back one... ...two... ... give back one... ... until remove all the stitches from the needle. I finished off all the sti
tches, one remains... .. now I pass it through inside and finish this stitch. The next step to make the bind off... ... I will have to lift... ... all around... ... 92 stitches. ... from the beginning here where ends... ...that part with 2 edge purl stitches... ... I'll start catching the stitches there. At the beginning of the first knot... ... I tie the yarn... ... and to raise these stitches I put the needle here and catch the yarn by inside. In this part... ... until I get here where I have
that 20 stitches... ... I will have to raise 36 stitches. So... ... I'll have to catch one in the knot... ... and other one on the space between one and another knot... So, the next one I catch here in the knot... ... and another in the space between one knot and another. There is no a very defined place, because it is a handwork and there is always... ... irregularities, but we will... ... making so... ...in the best possible way. I'll show you... ...this one I already made... ...why I have to
catch... ... 92 stitches. So I get 36 stitches here... ... those 20... ... and 36 here. If I don't put enough stitches, it causes this effect here... ... and will not dress the puppy well. So to stay... ...at the same time... ... loose and without... ...frills creation... ... I calculated this amount... ... of stitches... ..to have that... ... naturally following the curve. And I keep making this, taking the knots and the space between the knots... ... and when I get here on 20 stitches... ... I
'll catch one by one... I put all 20 stitches on the needle. And then I go down here on the other side and again picking up in the knots and between them... And always counting, because this is a row for the hits, there is no an defined amount... ... of spaces that match so well... ... the 92 stitches... We have to keep counting and making... ...it reach 92 stitches... ...given that the last stitch must be picked right here to avoid defects. Those 20 stitches that were finished off, I can catch
them here. Right on that place here where it forms. And I keep catching it until complete... These 20 stitches that were finished off. I caught 92 stitches on the needle... ...since the beginning, on those 2 edge stitches, until... ... the other 2 edge stitches on this side... If desired, this part can also be made in a circular needle giving more flexibility to the work. But it also can be made with two straight needles. Now I'll make... ... 5 rows in 1x1 rib stitch. ... one purl stitch... ...
one knit stitch... ... one purl stitch... ... one knit stitch... ... until 5 rows are completed. I made the 5 rows of rib stitch... ... now I'll bind off all the stitches. And I'll make the bind off of the stitches... ... thus, as the stitches are presented. So, I make one purl stitch... ... and then I make the next in knit stitch... ... and then I pass the first I made in purl stitch .. ...over this one I made in knit stitch. ... then the next in purl stitch... ... I make it in purl stitch...
... and then I catch this last... ... which is of course, the first knit stitch of the previous row... ... and I pass it over that in purl stitch. The next one is in knit stitch, so I make it in knit stitch... ... and I pass this other stitch over... ... that knit stitch. Always remains a stitch here and the stitches to be finished off. And I will go finishing like this until the end of the row. So people, the finish off looks like this. It looks very nice with this amount of stitches that we pu
t in. Now I'll make the bottom part. It's a part... ... that we make separately. And for the bottom part I put .. ... 20 stitches on the needle... After putting 20 stitches on the needle... ... I will work in 1x1 rib stitch... ... by 21 centimeters. So... ... this cuff in rib stitch I made here... ... I'll make the same with those 20 stitches. These 21 centimeters... ... it's from the beginning.... ... of that rounded cuff... ... until... ... near from I started making the 2 edge stitches seque
nce. Approximately 21 centimeters. It can be a little more or less... ... you can measure and make... ... this cuff here with the same amount of centimeters you measure from here to there. I made 21 centimeters... ... of cuff in rib stitch 1x1 with 20 stitches. It fits from the beginning of this cuff until near... ...the beginning of the collar. Now I'll make a decrease of stitches on both sides. I catch two stitches together... ... and I follow the rib stitch. It's in purl stitch, I make purl s
titch. ... knit stitch... ... purl stitch... ... knit stitch... ... and I follow the row till the end. Reaching the end of the row I catch two stitches together as well. On the wrong side of work... ... I will follow the stitches as they are presented. It starts in knit stitch, I make a knit stitch... ... the next is in purl stitch... ..another is in knit stitch... ... and I will follow the row to the end without making decreases I finished this row which I didn't make any decreases... ... in th
e next I'll decrease again. I catch 2 stitches together in purl stitch... And I follow the stitches as they appear, in rib stitch. Where is knit stitch I make knit stitch... ... where is purl stitch I make purl stitch... ... and I will continue like this until the end of the row. When I get to the end of the row, I catch two stitches together. On the wrong side of the work, I follow the stitches as they are presented... ... without making decreases. ... one purl stitch... ... one knit stitch...
... one purl stitch... ...one knit stitch... ... till the end of the row. And I keep making that... ... in one row I make decreases... ... on the wrong side row I don't... ... on the right side, I do, on the wrong side I don't... ... until remains 10 stitches on the needle. I got here with 10 stitches on the needle... ... now I'm going to decrease... ... one stitch from each side... ... catching 2 stitches together. So I follow the row... ... making rib stitch, which is one knit stitch... ... on
e purl stitch... ... one knit stitch... ... one purl stitch... ... one knit stitch... ... one purl stitch... ... and 2 stitches together. And I'll make that in all rows, without alternacies, that is, making decreases in all of them. So again, I catch 2 stitches together... ... one purl stitch... ...one knit stitch... ... one purl stitch... ... one knit stitch... ..and 2 stitches together. I return the row... ... I catch 2 stitches together... ...one knit stitch... ... one purl stitch... ..and 2
stitches together. ...remained 4 stitches... ... I catch 2 stitches together... ... again, 2 stitches together... ... and the last two stitches I catch them together. So, the bottom part looks like this... I pass this yarn here inside to bind off. So people, this part will be sewn here... ... here I will sew... ...part of the... ...the collar... Then I'll sew here... ...for about... ... 2 to 2.5 centimeters... ...up to this point... ... and then I'll leave an opening of about 8 centimeters. ...
8 to 9 centimeters... And then I'll sew the rest until the end. In order to sew the clothes... ... I'll begin... ... sewing... ... here on the wrong side of work... ... and I'll sew halfway down that cuff I'm taking advantage of this yarn that was already here... ... then I catch... ... a bit of one side... ...a few stitches here on the other side too... ... and I keep sewing like this... ... picking up in one side and in the other side... Because I'll fold this cuff ... ... to the right side o
f the work. So I'll make... ...my best to get a nice seam... And I go sewing like this... ... until I reach halfway, approximately. I sewed here in the best possible way, on the wrong side of the work. Now I'm going to turn... ... to the right... ...because... ... here is the wrong side of what I sewed. Because, when I bend this cuff ... ...the nicest aspect of the sewing will be shown on that side. And now I will continue... ... on the right side of the work... But I'll fit this bottom part...
...I was made previously... .. I will fit it into this opening. ...and I go sewing... ... picking the stitches a little of the side... ...picking up on the knots... ... from one side and the other... And I'll sew fitting this part... ... up to 2 centimeters... ...beyond the collar's beginning, approximately. ... to reach the openings... ... for the legs. So people, as I am going sewing on the right side... ... having a nice seam.. ... and then, the sew irregularities will be hidden on the wrong
side of the work. When reaching this point of the sew..... ... I bring this rest of yarn inside... ...and I'll bind off this yarn here inside .. ... bringing it further to finish it later... ... and then to be able to cut it. I'll make the same on the other side as well. I sewed until here and there. Who does not want to put sleeves... ... just make the sew, leaving the openings for the legs. Like the same I made on that one. However, in this model I will continue the work to teach you how.. ...
to make the sleeves. To make these sleeves... ... I measure here... ... 8 centimeters... ... and 8 centimeters on the other side as well. ... so I measure 8 centimeters on each side. I'll take a pin to mark where I'll stop raising the stitches. I also mark the other side. ... right here at this location. Then I take the parts... ... opening like this... ... and with my needle... ... and I'll catch... ... the stitches lifting them to make the sleeve. I tie a little knot... ... and I will raise th
e stitches. I must lift up enough stitches to not stay tightened. So I'll put... ...one stitch in the knot and the other in the interval, the same I made on the bottom part. To make the clothing quite comfortable. And I keep catching the stitches like this, outlining... ...until getting close from where I put the mark. I got 36 stitches, 18 here and 18 there. I got near from where I put the mark. Now I'll make rib stitch 1x1, for five rows and then bind off, following the stitches. So, the slee
ve is ready and looks like this. It could be bigger than that... ...or smaller... ...as a bind off or making a longer sleeve... And now here... ... as I already have the yarn... ...which can be used to sew... ... and I keep sewing... ... and now I'll close here... ... the same way I closed in other places... ...until the end... ... of the bottom part. After I made the sleeves I sewed the parts... ...and the ready work is like that. I hope you enjoy it and I wish a nice work for all of you. Thank
