and happening this weekend Cincinnati family magazine is hosting its Summer Camp Adventure fair and joining us is Amanda siani the associate editor of the magazine and thank you so much for joining us thank you for having me yes and it's hard to think about summer right now but you have to start planning I know when I got dressed this morning I was like bring the color and the vibrancy and like remind people that it's around the corner it looks so good on you yeah oh thank you hey and so of cour
se families when they are starting to pick out their camp you have to be kind of strategic and find the right one for your child so what's the first step would you right um you really have to think about the individual child and what they're interested in so if you have a kid that is more geared towards the Arts you know take that into consideration and then also if they like sports do that you can really have them hone in on their skills and develop over the summer or you know try something bra
nd new that's awesome and so you all are going to have an event with going to have several different camps available so parents can kind of walk around and see the different camps that are available and what is the process of like kind of finding the best camps that are going to be at the event right our event we're going to have over 35 booths so families can sort of walk around and ask questions to the uh camps that are there and it's a great time to get to know you know what camp is best for
your kid but we're also going to have a lot of fun so we're going to have princesses we're going to have balloon animals we're going to have some reptile friends there that's awesome and then also Gary the lion the FC mascot's going to be there it's going to be a lot of fun it's going to be fun so what is the timing of that and what where would the event be it will be at the Blue Ash rec center and that will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday and so of course you know some people may hav
e vacations over the summer but camps are important for children just to stay active and stay connected with other children right right and you know you can bridge that summer learning Gap by doing something academic or you can really keep up the socialization with like a more typical camp but it's just a great way for kids to stay active and not just sit on the couch all summer I know and a lot of times I mean again and you said there's a variety of activities so if your kids are into Arts if t
hey're into sports or something else I mean they there's really something for everyone there's something for everyone and the great thing is that the parents can go and ask questions and the kids can sort of play it's going to be a lot of fun and even when you all went scouting to find the best camps that are happening this summer what was that process like and how are you able to kind of vet through some of the the the variety definitely variety it's really important to find those active camps
the more academic ones science technology the whole steam Gambit um but it's great to have variety because every kid's different I have three sons and every single one of them has different interests so come to our camp Fair shop around we also are giving away two different camps that's awesome giving away a day camp for YMCA and abraca doodle so again more traditional camp and then the Arts so variety it can get expensive so that's important as well for people who are planning to come out this
