Superman Legacy Teaser 2025 Breakdown and DC Movie Changes

Welcome back everyone It's Charlie James Gunn released a new teaser for Superman Legacy, and he revealed they changed the title of the movie. It is going to be called "Superman" now So we'll break it all down because it does confirm some of the theories that are out there And we have a look at the four main cast, not all the side characters, not like every single character, but all the main characters. So we'll go over each of them too. But James Gunn didn't want to leave people high and dry bec

ause today the reason he posted this teaser is because it's Superman's canonical birthday inside the DC Universe. Like we have Creature Commandos, which will technically be the first canonical DCU inside James Gunn's universe. there's also the Batman Penguin TV s

eries. That's a spin off of Robert Pattinson's Batman, but that's set in that universe, not inside James Gunn's DCU. But I will be doing videos for both of those. The first big detail here is David Corenswet's new Superman's suit, the James Gunn just posted. He released his first official teaser of what the logo is going to look like in some of this. Not like the entire suit, but most of it. You had a pretty good idea There are a couple other people that claim that they were posting leaks after

But I think the leaks we can confirm now are probably fake just because the official teaser the James Gunn posted looks completely different from these supposed leaks. originally he claimed he wasn't going to let anybody see the new Superman suit before next year. So it is cool that he released this for Superman's birthday. it is. Most of you are probably guess the snow on the logo is from the Fortress of Solitude in the Arctic, like they're filming scenes at the Forc

es of Solitude when he was getting ready to post this like, hey, we're filming this, why don't we go ahead and post it? Because it's Superman's birthday. it confirms the new Superman symbol is based on the kingdom come symbol, I talked about this a couple of days ago, but James Gunn posted a couple of teasers for this like a year ago, more than a year ago, and nobody realized he was revealing the new Superman logo at the time, we all just thought that he was posting artwork that he really liked

because he posts a lot of Superman related artwork from the comics all the time. at the time he used Alex Ross's Kingdom Come art any he confirmed in his post here that the logo, like the official logo here, is inspired by Alex Ross's version of the kingdom come suit. minor change, though, is that it's the classic red and yellow, not the kingdom come black and red. te Earths. The minor change there is the actual suit itself was made of different material. It was smoother than David Corenswet's new suit. And for most of crisis on infinite Earths he wore the actual kingdom comes like it was literally meant to be the kingdom come version of the suit. and yes, Brandon Routh of Superman during that was meant to be his version of Superman from his Superman movie. And in that Superman movie, like Superman Returns, he was canonically meant to be the Christopher Re

eve version of Superman, just a forward in the timeline. So technically he was Christopher Reeve, Superman wearing the kingdom come suit. but at the end of crisis on infinite Earths, he changed from the black and red logo to the yellow and red logo. But his suit was meant to be a way smoother, like way less textured then David Corenswet's suit. Even Henry Cavill Superman's suit, the textures in the logo. The blue parts of the suit here are the same material in the same stitching pattern too. So

we get to like the zoom and enhance of it all here to like, break out all your CSI gear. We'll examine this. he also confirmed that the yellow outline of the logo is meant to be a reference to the classic 1940s Superman logo from the Fleischer cartoons that's also where the first version of the Superman and Lois logo came from to. the stitching. Looks way more human way more earth based than the stitching on Henry CAVILL'S Superman suits. So compare both of them up close, like zooming enhance as

That's because Henry Cavill's Superman suits were all 100% Kryptonian made with Kryptonian fabric constructed by Kryptonians. He got all of his suits from the Kryptonian ship, which was canonically meant to be one of his ancestor, like the house of elves ships during the Kryptonian age of exploration. Per the mythology of Zack Snyder's DCU. it. It has been left on Earth for many thousands of years. So technically, all th

e Superman suits the Henry Cavill wore were thousands of years old. that's also why his suits were so strong, like why you had to be either Kryptonian or just as strong as a Kryptonian to damage his Superman suits. in this kind of confirms the David Corenswet's Superman's suit. We'll have an origin story. Kind of like the older versions of Superman's suits in the movies. Brandon Routh. Superman. Christopher Reeve's Superman. Because they are technically the same version of Superman. The same bas

ic backstory of the suits in the Silver Age stories going way, way back in the comics, Superman's suits typically were made by his mother, Martha Kent, when he came into his powers and started using the Superman name in his twenties. like he didn't show up to earth in his pod with Superman suits ready to go, ready for him to wear. Martha. Kent made the suit using the fabric and materials inside his Kryptonian pod. So the suit itself was always Kryptonian materials in super strong compared to ear

th based materials. It was just made out of repurposed Kryptonian materials. After he grew up. They also got into the comedy behind this with All-Star Superman from the Grant Morrison Run, which James Gunn has also posted. like in the official announcement, he used All-Star Superman artwork when he was talking about the new Superman movie. during that story, they explained that they use a diamond stitching device to actually create his suit because the suit materials that the Kryptonian fabric w

as so strong. put the new David Corenswet's suit does have a very homemade vibe to it. They also just did this during the Superman and Lois TV show during season one, like the very beginning of the show, when he's wearing his original suit, he talks about how his mother basically made it for him, this new logo is also the same one that he's wearing on my adventures with Superman and that TV show they're actually probably going to be a couple of similarities in the plot of that show. hat he discovers his Kryptonian heritage is what's happening in the brand new movie. But we'll talk about that in future videos just because James Gunn hasn't completely revealed the new plot yet. during the movie. He will have a classic version of The Fortress of Solitude, not like a Kryptonian ship, like in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, but an actual fortress of Solitude. When he finished the final draft of the script, which was long before he posted that announcement video. I don't know why he waited this long to reveal The title was just Superman with no subtitle. d of reminds me of the more classic Christopher Reeve Superman movie title. a lot of the cast, here are characters that were in that original Superman movie, giving it kind of an old timey vibe without us actually seeing footage like you have Otis, you have Miss Tess Mucker, like to so many things just evoke the Christopher Reeve Superman movie. they just started actually filming footage, but they're filming on soundstages. So I don't expect there to be a ton of big suit leagues or costume leagu

Zack Snyder also revealed with the full plot of that Justice League trilogy was going to be. most movies kind of leaned into camp humor in a much bigger way. Just in general really good example of James Gunn's sense of humor is the Guardians of the Galaxy. Is Guy Gardner, Green Lantern. they ever said too much about what's going on with Isabela Mercedes's version of Hot Girl, I'm assuming because she's so young here, what's happened with Hawkman

inside the DC like James Gunn's universe, is that he died and was resurrected in Doesn't remember his previous life. and that's why heading into the events of this movie they're not currently together also they literally just did the Hawkman character during the Black Adam movie with a completely different version.
