is something really wrong with Kate Middleton is that why her recovery from surgery is taking such a long time the royal family isn't providing those answers so we asked an expert to shed some light on things we don't know what's wrong but it's obviously major on January 17th 2024 Kensington Palace announced that Katherine Princess of Wales has already undergone a planned abdominal surgery at the London Clinic a high-end Hospital the announcement continued the surgery was successful and it is ex
pected that she will remain in hospital for 10 to 14 days before returning home to continue her recovery the announcement came as a total surprise to just about everyone even other members of the royal family and Kate's closest advisers according to reports that hospital stay ended up being on the longer end of that estimate the full 14 days Kensington palace's statement also noted that the future Queen would most likely not return to public duties until after Easter March 31st yet more than a m
onth ahead of that date that hasn't stopped the Royal commentariat from openly Fring about Kate who isn't just taking a break from her duties but hasn't been seen in public at all in about 6 weeks she didn't even make an appearance when leaving the hospital unlike King Charles III after he had a procedure to deal with an enlarged prostate the King was later revealed to have an unspecified form of cancer what on Earth is happening with Kate Middleton if they were willing to share this much detail
about Prince Charles and it's that bad what on Earth is happening with her many expected to at least catch glimpses of the princess here and there during her road to recovery so what is keeping her out of the public eye and should people be worried it's impossible to stop a rumor mill starting and a kind of Cavalcade of opinions cascading all around the world we asked George Crawford MD FACS and CEO of the Crawford Clinic to break down exactly what's going on here he explained that there may be
some very normal reasons for Kate's recovery to be so lengthy the royal family has not not revealed exactly what kind of procedure Kate had and Crawford explained that depending on what type of surgery it was the recovery time can vary pretty greatly the Princess of Wales may have had open surgery which would require a lot of rest Crawford said open surgery is when you make a big incision on the belly and do an operation that can require up to 2 months for a patient to recover typically patient
s who have open surgery can get up and move a week after the procedure but for the abdominal muscles to heal it can take any from 6 weeks to 8 weeks to be at about 75% strength if Middleton had open surgery the timeline of a full recovery would put her right around you guessed it Easter they seem very firm that she won't be doing anything until around Easter however Crawford said that Kate's surgery may have been laparoscopic though in that case the recovery time would be considerably shorter he
said laparoscopic surgery is when you do an operation through small incisions those patients typically have recovery time of about 3 weeks Crawford explained that patients who undergo laparoscopic procedures will usually be up and moving around by the next day but still need time to make a total recovery so basically Kate's recovery time will depend on the type of procedure either way she should definitely be taking it easy there is at least some evidence though that the princess hasn't been to
tally bedridden people reported that Kate did leave her home at Windsor Castle on February 10th to travel to the family Sandringham estate in norfox and join other members of the royal family there including King Charles clearly the plan was for the princess to continue her recovery in a relaxed setting Kate and Prince Williams stayed at their home there and mhal A source told the Daily Mail she was looking forward to a change of scene and will be able to take it easy in norfol while the childre

@NickiSwift

Why do you think the palace is being so secretive on Kate's surgery?

@carolineblake361

let Catherine’s private business stay private

@moonbaby104

She is Princess Catherine and has been for over 12 years now. Time for you to move from the past and come into the Present!! I had abdominal surgery nine years ago, I wasn't allowed to go anything for 10 weeks. Then there was a few more weeks for complete back to normal. Give the Princess a break and stop speculating, she will be alright. GOD Bless her🙏

@alexaelliott2598

Stop calling her Kate, Catherine Middleton, Princess Kate. She is Catherine, Princess of Wales. Her healthcare is her business, not yours mine or anyone else’s

@1GoodWoman

I have had 3 open surgeries and it can take a full year to be fully recovered. She deserves her time and privacy.

@merrilynjackson1895

Why the hell is it any of your business! Abdominal surgery takes a long time to heal, after all they cut through all your muscles. They have to heal well & don’t need any infections caused by the public. They asked for privacy give it to them! Oh & she is known as the Princess of Wales she has not been Middleton for 11 years. Also she prefers Catherine NOT Kate how about giving her some respect.

@bonniehughes1416

Perhaps the Princess doesn't want her children to read about it in the press? We should just wish her a speedy recovery, and then mind our own business.

@ninakerstetter579

I had two abdominal surgeries, one vertical cut and one horizontal with 75 staples. Long recovery & it really saps your strength. Give the young lady all the time she needs! ❤️

@ginnys9831

She hasn't been Kate Middleton for 12 years!🙄

@Chikkediva

Please, people, let Princess Catherine have her little bit of privacy, and I wish her all the best in her recovery

@user-pf7bl3wg9l

Why do people keep calling her Kate Middleton! She is Princess Catherine! I don’t remember Diana being called Diana Spencer after she married.

@01amaj01

What ever condition with surgery, God is over all control. Sickness or surgery not anyone’s fault! Sincere prayers for speedy recovery , prayers to prince & kids! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹

@sunnydavidson297

Healing doesn't have a specific time frame. And it is a highly individual process.

@lindasimpson6768

Can’t stand hearing Catherine called KATE MIDDLETON. Disrespectful 😢

@jeanjean2033

Leave the woman alone let her recover at her own pace speedy recovery

@sheilaedwards6217

THIS IS NOT A LONG TIME FOR RECOVERY. YOU HAVE NO CLUE HOW LONG IT TAKES A BODY TO HEAL. IT TAKES 6 WEEKS I KNOW I HAVE BEEN THROUGH IT.

@eleanorandres6158

Let us continue to pray for Princess Catherine’s full recovery and healing !!🙏

@francinegreenway8451

It is normal to require a long recovery time for abdominal surgery

@VanessaD.

Princess Catherine, please be respectful and call her by her name. Kate is a nickname and Middleton is no longer her surname.

@mrsterious5845

When her surgery was first reported, articles made it clear it was some sort of abdominal surgery and that Catherine would need at least until Easter to recover. Because abdominal surgeries have a long recovery period. Nothing weird or nefarious is happening.
