Thank You for a Trip of a Lifetime!

In January, a group of 12 Southwestern students led by Assistant Director for Outdoor Adventure Branndon Bargo embarked on an awe-inspiring journey to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. In addition to conquering the mountain, these students immersed themselves in the vibrant local culture of Tanzania. They engaged with a Massai community, learned about local traditions, and forged meaningful connections that transcend borders. To the SU family, your support has been instrumental in making these transformative journeys possible. To help us continue offering these incredible experiences, consider making a contribution to Southwestern at http://southwestern.edu/makeagift or join us on Giving Day, March 5. In the midst of the “Silicon Hills” near Austin, Texas, Southwestern University is a place for unparalleled learning experiences and career opportunities. Our graduates serve the world as artists and scholars, Pulitzer prize-winning journalists and noted authors, senators and congressmen, scientists and physicians, musicians and athletes—leaders in their fields and in their communities. Established in 1840 as the first institution of higher learning in Texas, Southwestern is investing more than $120 million over the next three years in capital projects while embarking on plans to create a liberal arts-inspired community on more than 560 acres contiguous to campus. With applications and selectivity at an all-time high, Southwestern looks to its third century continuing as a national leader in liberal arts education. Competing in 20 sports in NCAA Division III and a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the American Southwest Conference, the Pirates have won championships in football, baseball, softball, volleyball, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s swimming and diving. As a BFA major and somebody who's interested in landscape painting. I knew that I wanted to paint at some point on this trip. Usually when I paint, I listen to music. But on this trip, I really wanted to just immerse myself in the sounds. And so I would just be listening to the creek flowing. You know, hearing like the porters talk in Swahili and hearing my friends, you know, talking in camp. And so just having all of that around me was really, I think, influenced the painting itself. The climb
itself over the course of eight days was probably the hardest but most rewarding eight days of my life. You know, it's it's been something that you've been picturing for months. It's it's been just off in the distance. And I get chills just thinking about it because it's it's this moment of power and pride, not just in yourself, but in your whole team. And it's it's overwhelming. But while we were up there, it's it's like you're on top of the world. You're. You're unreachable. And yet at the sam
e time, more connected to everything than you've ever been. Seeing in Tanzania from the people that made a lasting impact on me was the idea of servant leadership. They were the first to come and help you. They didn't care what the problem was. They didn't care what condition or how tired they were. They felt like they wanted to jump in and help you with whatever you needed. If it wasn't $500, I definitely wouldn't have been able to do it. It's definitely a once in a lifetime experience that I c
ouldn't have done without the help of the Board of Trustees and the help of Brandon. Cynthia. I think that I really just want to take a moment to thank the people that have made this possible. I mean, this trip would not have been possible at all had it not been for the really generous donations. I feel like me personally, I would have never been able to experience this if the trip wasn't so financially accessible. I feel like that is the biggest part and that is what made it to where so many pe
ople could experience this and open it up to a wider range of people. So I am beyond thankful for that.

With ťrading, technicaI analysis skills alone are not enough; discipline and emotional maturity are also crucial for success. The saying "time in the market vs. timing the market" is a good mindset to have during market fluctuations. Thanks to Laura A Keady’s insights, daily ťrade signaIs, and my dedication to learning, I've been increasing my daily earnings. Keep it up!
