this past weekend the 2024 Academy Awards took place and people are now saying that this year the award show was one worthy of Celebration and maybe even having a place in the history books so here's a look back at my sit down with entertainment tonight's Nichelle Turner and Kevin Frasier on what unfolded at the Oscars Kevin Nelle thank you so much for joining us today we're so excited to talk about the Oscars it's really The Talk of the Town all the good stuff that went down this weekend I woul
d be remiss if I didn't start off with one of the leading stories oh my goodness kind of John Cena we've seen a lot let's let's take a look we seen at it all let's take a look let's take a look I said can you imagine if a newe man ran across the stage today wouldn't that be crazy what's going on you're supposed to run across the stage I uh changed my mind I don't want to do the Streaker bit anymore what do you mean you don't want to do the streer bit anymore we're doing it that's incredible it's
so good what did you Olivia did you think he was naked when you first saw it you know what's crazy when when I first saw I that is the last thing I expected and then when he came out I was like oh they're really doing this oh man so for me kind of a crazy moment but I know a lot of people thought it was pretty darn funny but one moment he he had on a little bikini he had on a little bikini he wasn't completely naked but the way they did it was so great and the the placement of the envelope was
perfect I mean it really came off really well I thought it was hilarious I just I was nervous too because I'm like what is happening here I really didn't know because John John Cena if you if you've ever been around her you know him a little bit like he is a button- up guy he is he is all about his business but he's I mean he's a funny guy and he's self deating and he like loves to have a good time so I could have seen him just saying forget it I'm going to do it no he sold it yeah he definitely
did and somebody else who sold it all oh my goodness Ryan Gosling when he's saying I'm just Ken it was a moment that we all needed yeah yeah let's watch [Music] [Applause] I'm this is my destiny I'm [Applause] just hey me out [Music] just I love they had the whole audience singing and interacting and he was just absurd enough to wear the gloves and the the the glasses and the hat at the beginning it was so good but what was so fascinating about that moment well the fact Olivia that that the mov
ie Barbie was talking about the patriarchy and what we go through as women in order to be seen and feel heard and the that we have to twist ourselves into a pretzel to even be considered enough and of course the day after we're still talking about Ken it all came back to Ken the kenergy took the day let's go still talking about let's go Ken let's go okay well listen we're GNA end on a really good one this is what everybody loved the entire night former winners did present an award and I think it
captured all of our hearts absolutely great moment the last time they did it was in 2009 uh 15 years later we bring this back again and just look at those Legends standing up there on the screen former winners to come and pay homage give flowers to the current nominees have a very special moment with them you know these are Oscar nominees they're the best of the best the cream of the crop so everybody deserved an ad a girl or an at a boy so I just I love this moment I thought it was incredible
and one of the best moments of it was beautiful that even though you come to the Oscars and may not win you still get your moment where they can dot on you give you your flowers and it's it just it really did set this Oscars apart and it made it special and you get to see the Legends up there too I mean you see Rita Moreno presenting to America Ferrera you know you see Lupita nongo presenting to dine Joy Randolph you know it and I love it because they're also friends you see um jam Lee Curtis pr
esenting to jod Foster just really great moments it was great yeah I I totally agree and it was an amazing way to end the Oscars and an amazing way for us to end today thank you both so much Kevin Nelle as usual your coverage is impeccable we appreciate it thank you
