Today we're going on a food tour around Amritsar. We are going to show you all the best places to eat and drink around the city. That is the best  masala tea I have ever tried. My mom even tries a spice challenge. It's too spicy don't it's  too spicy, too spicy! and we meet lots of friendly locals. We at our first stop now called Kulcha  land and Kulcha is a famous bread here made in Amritsar. It is crispy on the outside and soft on  the inside. The filling is different types of masala and potat
o and it is served with lentils  and chutney. This is one busy kitchen. Just taking a look at the process of how they're making the  bread. Here I can see they're stuffing the bread with the potatoes and all the spices. So they're  rolling it into a ball and then they're flattening it out and then it goes over to this side where  the guy is kneading it and then putting it on the side of the tandoor. I've always wondered  how the bread actually sticks to the side of the tandoor. I find that reall
y amazing that  gravity is not making it fall to the ground. It's definitely an art but after that it comes to  this process here where they're putting the ghee on the outside of the bread and it looks  absolutely delicious and it smells really good in here. So this is an Amritsar Kulcha bread.  It's very famous in this part of India. So apparently there's a little test to see if it's fresh and nice and crispy. You just,  oh yeah, it has the sound. Let me try it. It's really nice and crispy. It
has some chutney  and it has some lentils that you can dip it in. So I'm going to try a combination of the chutney  and the lentils together and see what that tastes like. The bread is really delicious and it has a  texture of pastry so just flakes off. It's really yummy. So this dish is actually for breakfast and  lunch they don't serve it past 4:00. We are now at the second stop about to try some lassi.  So I'm normally used to getting a mango lassi when I have Indian food but here they have s
weet  or salty lassi so we're going to try this sweet lassi this time. We're just watching them make the  lassi right now. It's quite a process actually. So there's big pots here with loads of yogurt and  there's actually a yogurt cream on top and in this pot is the sugar. Okay so he's adding in a  little bit of water just to loosen up the sugar so they're going to add the yogurt to the sugar  and they're going to mix it up to make the lassi. So the cream of the yogurt is actually sitting on  a
block of ice to keep it cold and they put water inside the lassi to make it a better consistency.  So we questioned a little bit and we're wondering you know where the water is coming from and it's  actually the local tap water which is not really recommended to drink. I think they're making  a different one without water because yeah I really don't want to get uh water poisoning if  that's what it's called or typhoid. So it pretty much So it pretty much looks like a vanilla milkshake Let's see
what it  tastes like. Actually really nice. You can certainly taste the sweetness. It's just like a sweet yogurt  and then it has the cream on top. It's really flavorful. Okay I'm going to give the lassi a go. Little bit concerned about the  local water that ended up in here but. Yeah. It's very nice actually. The  cream this part here actually has quite a chewy texture. It's nice it's  very creamy, it's sweet I wasn't sure if I was going to like the plain lassi  because normally lassis back hom
e they always come with mango flavor. This  is actually really nice. I'm enjoying this. How's that? So I'm a little bit  concerned about the local water being used so I'm actually not going to  try it. I'll give you the verdict if my parents are okay by the end of the  day. What are you thinking about the lassi? You like it? It's good  yeah yeah good yeah she likes it! So we just about to catch a  tuk tuk to our third stop of the day. Currently in an electric tuk tuk. So that's  pretty impressiv
e. It's actually really quiet compared to the other tuk tuks that are going  around the city. The tuk tuks here are really cool. They're very spacious. Oh oh smell that  yum oh my gosh what's that? Whatever that was smelled absolutely amazing and completely  distracted me from what I was just saying. We keep passing by all these restaurants and just  smelling local food and getting really really hungry. It is such a colorful street that we  are walking down right now. Looks like we've just arriv
ed at our next stop. Oh my gosh that  smells delicious! I can't wait to try some [Music] We eating paneer bhudji and  Ella is mixing in the butter that was put on top into the paneer they  certainly put a lot of butter in this meal. I saw him put a few chilies  in there so hopefully not too spicy. Oh my gosh! Yum, wow that that's  amazing wow! That's so good! So the green one is apparently spicy and  then the red chutney is a bit sweeter. So if you put it all in together it balances out  the fla
vor. So I'm going to try it now with the chutney. That is amazing! Not too spicy not too  sweet, it just has the perfect flavoring yeah it's really nice and that's how it's done. I don't  know where our guide just went. Where did he go where? Oh he's there, I thought we missed our guide. This is probably a good time to introduce our guide to you. Can you tell the viewers who you are  and who do you work for. Okay so my name is Prarit and I work for a company called walk and explore. So we  help

Thank you. Wow, that was an amazing dish that we just tried there. I feel like my taste buds  are definitely activated now so really looking forward to seeing what we're going to be trying  next. Na
maste are you ready to order? Namaste, actually we're not quite ready to order. We have  been discussing something amazing. Amazing? Is it on the menu? Oh no it's not on the menu, it's Surf  shark. [Music] We are about to have one of my favorite  types of tea. So let's go and have a look how they make it. In this pot here they have boiling water. Over here they have the tea leaves and the masala. He's just added some sugar to this as well and  then in this pot over here they have mil
k and it smells absolutely delicious and they boil  it multiple times to bring the flavor out of the spices and out of the tea. I can't wait  to try it. I think they're  using tap water as well to make the tea so I'm really glad when I  heard that they boil it multiple times. This is definitely a busy chai place  because there's absolutely no seats left. Everyone's looking at me by the  way. Can you say hello? Say hi. Okay just had to break that weird silence. It's  absolutely boiling hot so I'm
hoping I'm not going to skin the roof of my  mouth off. Let's have a try, Oh oh my gosh! That is the best masala tea I have ever tried. that is absolutely delicious. Some of the ones that I've had back home are  very thin and I think there's too much boiled water in them whereas this one is really  beautiful rich and creamy it's absolutely delicious. I can really smell cardamon so  I'm curious to see if I can actually taste that. Oh my gosh it's really sweet. Yeah you  can definitely taste the
cardamon a bit but yes so nice. Really happy that it's sweet because I  really like sweet tea. I definitely think there was a bit of sugar in that masala tea because I'm  feeling a little jittery now but that's good it's giving us energy to survive the rest  of the night. I love this about India that you drive around the streets and then all of a  sudden you find a cow in the middle of the road. I wish I could pat it but we're on a food tour so  it probably wouldn't be the most hygienic. We have
a new friend that has just  joined us his name is Manesh and he's going to sit and enjoy this delicious meal with us  today. Let's give it a go. Let's tasted it. Both chutneys okay. Put both on,  is it good. Is this your favorite? Yeah [Music] It's really nice so it's a vegetarian meal we're  having at the moment it's has some nice textures a bit crunchy. The soy chunks you get in this meal  here almost has a little bit of a texture like paneer and it almost tastes a bit like it too and  then y
ou have all the spices of course from the gravy on the outside. So it's really tasty and I  like the textures. And I'm absolutely loving the sweet chutney. That is definitely my favorite. It just adds delicious flavor to the whole dish. It is delicious 10 out of 10 for this one. Can I just  say how delicious the rice. Is it is so buttery. I feel like they put butter in all their dishes here and it makes it taste so good. Yeah it's probably good we're only here for a week otherwise I would be a l
ittle bit worried about my waistline. Thank you to our new friends. It was really nice  sitting and enjoying a meal with them. So lovely to meet you. There are so many places. There are so many places where you can also find delicious food. So many places. We have some new subscribers. Yay okay. See you later thank you! Bye. We are at our next stop. We're about  to try something a bit sweet. Okay come with me let's go and have a look. Okay come with me let's go and have a look. We are just tryin
g an Indian dessert it consists of ice cream and it has some kind of jelly. It has something called  rubbery which is a whipped milk and then it has noodles in it. So these noodles are made from  corn. But let's try it out and see what its like. Tastes like sweet milk ice cream but I  must say it's a bit weird in my mind to mix ice cream milk and noodles. Probably not my  favorite. A few bites are okay, but I wouldn't eat too much of it. I think doesn't look the most  appealing but looks are not
everything. Oh I actually really like it. It reminds me a  little bit of my mom's rice pudding. I think Kasper can't get over the noodle factor. I  think the ice cream is really nice. I don't find it too sweet at all. It didn't really look  that appealing. It looks a little sloppy but it actually tastes really nice. Alright ready,  big bite, big bite oh my God [Laughter] cold it actually tastes like Grandma's rice pudding.  Yeah I really like it cuz I like my Grandma's rice pudding. So I hope I
indirectly didn't offend  my Mother-in-law's rice pudding. That's what I was thinking. [Music] So just watching the process of  making the masala dosas at the moment so they use the rice flour and they put it  on the pan and they spread it out with some sort of device to make the shape  and they add the potato and the masala spices the cheese and some tomato  and onions and I have to say it smells absolutely delicious. I love dosas, so I can't  wait to try this. Thank you for showing us. Good j
ob. [Music] Tonight we're going to try some masala dosa. This is actually from the southern parts of India. And here we have a coconut chutney we have  samba which is like a lentil soup dip and then we have a potato chutney which has like a  spicy sweet taste. That is absolutely delicious! Oh really good. Try a little bit of this. I'll try  bit the coconut. The sweet and sour chutney that we have here this one is found here in Punjab. That is so good! If it wasn't for doing a food tour tonight w
e would never have found this  cute little food street. It's really hidden in the back street. It is yeah. I really like the  coconut chutney it's really delicious. I love the lentil soup. I think the sweet and sour chutney here, I think that's my favorite. Okay good that didn't take long to eat that by the way. We are at our eighth stop of the night and I'm excited to see what we're going to try apparently  something with chickens this is going to be our first non-vegetarian meal today. All I c
an smell  right now is a charcoal smell. It's really smoky here but it smells absolutely delicious. Okay  let's go and have a look at what we're eating next. Just found out today that Indians eat quite  late. So we're here at 6:00pm and you can see the restaurant is absolutely deserted. So if you come  here about 9 - 10pm the whole place will be packed and you won't get a seat. We've ordered a butter  chicken so really excited to taste it but while we're waiting they've invited us to go and take
a look at the kitchen and see how everything is prepared. So let's go and take a look. We currently  watching them prepare our butter chicken and it looks delicious. I'm getting hungry just looking at  it. The sauce is simmering and it looks so creamy and so thick. I literally can't wait to try it.  This is seriously a senses overload. You can smell all the spices. A little bit of cream  and a little bit of the oil on top. Ginger. Oh and a little bit of butter. Here in India all  the dishes co
me with butter we've realized. Wow amazing! I don't really know what this is. I  think it's another chutney yeah it smells good I think I'm going to try it. It's too spicy don't  try. It's too spicy, it's too spicy. Really? You think. It's too spicy? Believe me. Going to give it a go  anyway. It's good. It's good. it's fine. Okay okay. It's coming. Okay. I told you it's to spicy. Is it actually really spicy? It's pretty spicy.  Okay, I'm not going to try that. Okay he was right it's actually rea
lly  spicy. It's burning round the rim of my lips. Yeah it was too spicy. Oh our butter chicken  is here. Thank you. You can't go wrong with the butter chicken. That was absolutely delicious stop number eight done and dusted. So I think we're  going to go find something sweet to eat now We have just arrived at a place where we  are going to try a traditional Indian candy It is made from mango pulp it also has spices  like pepper and masala, so I'm very curious to taste this. Apparently there's a
sweet and a  tangy version. So I think we'll try both and see which one we like best. Hello. Hello. Oh my gosh! Dry mango dry mango. Just got given a piece of dry mango so it looks a bit like  leather so let's see what it's going to taste like It's quite sweet and it has a tanginess to it as  well. It's nice. It's really good. Okay. Looks pretty. Almost tastes like a sweet  mango Jam. I like it. That tastes really good. Okay. That's a explosion in your  mouth wow I think this has salt and maybe
a few spices on the outside cuz when you first bite into  it it's kind of like a savory flavor and then you can then start to taste a sweet mango and it's a  little bit tangy as well. I love tangy things. oh Yes the salt on the outside oh what what is on the  inside? It is nuts? It's called tamarind and you can eat the whole thing the shell everything?  I think I may have eaten a little bit of the shell. How is it? It's tangy. It's very tangy. Thanks for the mango tasting . Yeah yeah. It's a bi
t sticky. That was the last  stop for tonight's food tour and wow it was such a great experience. We certainly tried some  very delicious food what was your favorite meal of the night. I really like Paneer Bhudji. That was also  my favorite. What about you? I love the butter chicken. It was absolutely delicious that was  pretty good too. Well that's it for today's video. See you next time on, Living the Jo Life. I wasn't sure was  going to like this because normally we've had lassis with... Smel
ls delicious! That's very close Kylie. I didn't know you were still recording. Ella just hit my funny bone. It's  not funny! I feel like it's almost like an Indian mashed potato without potato but  just without. What? Yeah without potato just paneer. I'm sorry to all the people  that she just offended by saying that. That was really random. I like that coconut salsa here that's really nice. Salsa? Chutney Looks like a poo. Ella you didn't just say that?

Your making me Hungry! Indian is my Favorite, Lamb Curry or Goat Curry with proper Indian spice, not watered down, Most American don't like lamb or Goat or Spicy food, I have to constantly argue when I eat Indian at a new place, Make it Indian Spice! Once the cook came out, The Server and owner to watch me lol they were amazed I could eat it that way. Have you guys been to Japan and tried FUGU? Blow Fish I tried that twice last year and I am still here. Indian Masala, chi, oh so good. Not sure if you guys been to Japan, if not GO!
