Recap. Today we will explain the story of Hollywood's adventure movieĀ
"The Call Of The Wild" based on Jack London's 1903 novel of the same name. LetsĀ
go further and start explaining the plot. In the late 1800s, Buck, a large and kindĀ
mix of Saint Bernard and Scotch Shepherd, lives happily with his owner, Judge Miller,Ā
in Santa Clara, California. One night, Buck is forcefully taken and transported to the Yukon onĀ
a ship. During the voyage, a crew member mist
reats him to establish authority. Upon reaching Alaska,Ā
a man named John Thornton drops his harmonica, and Buck retrieves it for him, just beforeĀ
being sold to Perrault and Francoise. They run a dog sled used for delivering mail acrossĀ
the Yukon. Perrault hopes Buck can help them make the long journey to the mail depot on time.Ā
Buck meets the other dogs, including Spitz, a husky and the leader of the pack, along withĀ
Dolly, Pike, Jo, Billie, Dub, Dave, and Sol-leks. As Buck journeys with Pe
rrault, Francoise, andĀ
the other sled dogs, he earns their loyalty and trust by proving his worth. He savesĀ
Francoise when she falls through the ice, causing tension with Spitz, theĀ
pack leader. During their travels, Buck starts having visions of a blackĀ
wolf, which guides him along the way. One night, Buck catches and then releasesĀ
a rabbit, but Spitz kills it and attacks Buck to show dominance. Despite Spitz'sĀ
advantage, the rest of the pack supports Buck, and he manages to overpower Spi
tz, becomingĀ
the new pack leader. Spitz disappears into the wild afterward. Perrault reluctantlyĀ
acknowledges Buck as the lead dog when no other dog steps up. Buck's strength andĀ
speed help the sled deliver the mail on time. At their destination, Thornton hands aĀ
heartfelt letter he wrote to his former wife to someone. Thornton and Buck recognize each otherĀ
immediately. However, Perrault discovers that the mail route is being replaced by the telegraph,Ā
compelling him to sell the dogs, incl
uding Buck. Hal, who lacks experience and is unkind,Ā
buys a pack of sled dogs and overworks them, making them carry a heavy load with three otherĀ
people in harsh weather conditions not suitable for sledding. The dogs become completelyĀ
exhausted and collapse, unable to go on, especially when they're pushed to cross aĀ
dangerous, unstable frozen lake. When Buck, one of the dogs, can't move anymore,Ā
Hal threatens to harm him. Fortunately, Thornton shows up and saves Buck, while Hal forcesĀ
the
other sled dogs to cross the risky lake. Under Thornton's care, Buck startsĀ
to recover from his ordeal. Later, at a gathering place called a saloon, ThorntonĀ
gets attacked by Hal, who admits he's the only human left as the other dogs ran away,Ā
leaving him with nothing. Seeing this, Buck defends Thornton and drives Hal out.Ā
Buck and Thornton then venture beyond the known territories of Yukon, finding an empty cabinĀ
in a peaceful valley where they decide to settle. Meanwhile, Hal relentlessly
Ā
pursues them out of revenge, convinced that Thornton isĀ
hiding a secret source of gold. In the wild, Thornton and BuckĀ
form a strong bond while engaging in daily activities like fishing andĀ
searching for gold. During this time, Buck is drawn to a female white wolf. HeĀ
saves another wolf, finding himself torn between his life with Thornton and theĀ
wolf pack where the female wolf belongs. As their companionship deepens, Thornton,Ā
who never desired the gold they found, throws it back into t
he river, keeping only aĀ
small amount for necessities. He informs Buck that they'll head home the next day and asks Buck toĀ
bid farewell. Buck, instead, heads into the forest and sleeps beside the white wolf. That night, HalĀ
locates Thornton and shoots him, demanding to know about the gold. Thornton tosses the littleĀ
money he kept, but it doesn't satisfy Hal. Buck returns and confronts Hal, resulting inĀ
a struggle that sets the cabin on fire. Buck manages to push Hal inside the burning cabi
n,Ā
which collapses. Despite Thornton's injuries, he encourages Buck to liveĀ
his own life and embraces him, assuring him with his final words, "It'sĀ
alright, buddy. You're where you belong." The following morning, Buck gazes sadly atĀ
the burnt remains of the cabin from the hills. Embracing the wild, Buck becomes a leader inĀ
the wilderness, forming a bond with the white wolf. They mate and have offspring, solidifyingĀ
Buck's role as the leader of the pack. He fully embraces the instincts and
lifestyle of the wild,Ā
answering the call of the wild that beckons him.
