THE LIFE OF THE HADZABE: HOW THEY HUNT AND EAT MONKEYS TO THE BONES - NOTHING IS WASTED.... The Hadzabe are the only community in Tanzania that still live in the wilderness just like their ancestors did. They rely on hunting and gathering fruits, roots, and honey for their food. THE LIFE OF THE HADZABE: HOW THEY HUNT AND EAT MONKEYS  TO THE BONES, NOTHING IS WASTED The Hadzabe are the only community  in Tanzania that still live in the wilderness just like their ancestors did. They rely on hunting and gathering  fruits, roots, and honey for their food. They are mostly found in the areas  of Baray, Northwest of Karatu in Arusha region, around Lake Eyasi, in the  Rift Valley, and in the Serengeti Plain. Recent statistics show that this community has  a population of betwee
n 1,200 to 1,300 people. As explained, this community relies heavily  on hunting as a source of food. Unlike other communities, the Hadzabe hunt and eat every  animal, from hyenas, antelopes, giraffes, elephants, leopards, monkeys,  and all others of that kind! You might be surprised that  monkeys and baboons are eaten? Yes, they are indeed a delicacy for the Hadzabe. Join Global TV in this feature  to witness the real life of the Hadzabe in the wilderness, how  they hunt and eat their prey. For
the Hadzabe, the day starts with men gathering  and setting off into the wilderness to hunt. Today seems to be a good day because early on, they  have already caught their prey. It's a monkey! They have killed it with their  traditional hunting tools, which are spears, arrows, clubs,  sticks, knives, and machetes. After successfully capturing the prey, the  next step is to start a fire! The Hadzabe start a fire by rubbing special sticks together,  an ancient technology called uwimbombo na ulind
i. Here's what happens, they rub a long stick against  another stick with special holes, and underneath there's a knife, dry grass is gathered and  rubbing continues until the fire ignites. Once the fire is lit, they help each other  gather firewood and then the task of preparing their meal begins. The monkey is placed on  the fire to remove all the fur from its body. They don't bother to skin it because the skin  is also part of the meal, nothing is wasted. The monkey is roasted on the fire unt
il all the  fur falls off, then using knives and other tools, they scrape off all the burnt  fur, which now easily comes off. The meat continues to roast on the wood  fire until cooked, and what follows is a feast. Everyone who participated shares  the meat and enjoys the monkey delicacy. The meat is eaten entirely, and even  the head is not discarded, it is also roasted well and chewed while sucking the brain  intermittently until only empty bones remain. After satisfying their hunger,  they st
art sharing stories, laughing, and rejoicing together, getting ready again to hunt for another meal, TO CARRY BACK TO THEIR SMALL HUTS, BUILT WITH DRY GRASS AND TREES. THESE ARE THE HADZABE AND THIS IS THEIR LIFE IN THE WILDERNESS.
