by the end of 2022 this is going to be the most
undepreciated film of the entire year because not a lot of people are going to watch this movie
and that is a crime so let's just get right into the review welcome back film fans this is brad
from let's be real proud and today on the channel i want to talk to you guys about the brand new
crime drama film called the outfit the outfit is directed by graham moore in his directorial
debut the film stars mark rylance zoe dutch johnny flynn and dyla
n o'brien the plot centers around an
english tailor in chicago whose primary customers are a family of vicious gangsters the outfit is a
film that i've been particularly looking forward to for quite some time as it premiered at the 72nd
berlin international film festival last month and it got tons of amazing reviews so i had an early
screener from the movie last night and i was way more pumped to watch this movie considering that i
had no idea that this was supposed to be a mystery crime dr
ama movie and now that i've seen the
film i can say that this was a really good movie that i wish that more movies were made just
like this what i enjoyed so much about this film is that it feels like a very typical
mystery crime drama film that you would see more in the 1950s or in the 1960s but the way
that this movie is presented and just executed in this movie was so good by having so many twists
and turns that i really didn't see anything coming maybe some of you guys who had seen this
movie
saw some of the twists and turns coming more in the second or third act of the movie but i was
just in it for the ride and i'm somebody who sees pretty much every twist and turn coming in
most movies and this was one movie that i didn't see anything coming the twists and turns in this
movie are so well executed because of its great screenplay that was co-written by director graham
moore as the film feels like you don't really know what's going on and that is some of the criticism
i
do have with this film particularly some minor characters that become major characters in the
story but with the characters being so mysterious and interesting and have so many backstories to
them that it makes all the twists and turns this movie so much more effective when they happen
but one of the best aspects about this film has to be the performances here as mark rylance
just did an amazing job in the role as he has been since 2015's bridge of spies as he has knocked
every performance
out of the park and i think this might be one of his best performances yet because
he has a lot to do in this movie and the movie primarily focuses on him but the very best aspect
about this film has got to be the utilization of its small budget and its resources because
this is a very small movie that's set in only one location and only features a couple rooms and
this movie feels like it was so professionally made with its cinematography and the lighting and
even the editing as well and t
his movie features so many great shots because it's so dialogue heavy
and it's surrounded by this mystery and lies and twist along the way there is so much tension that
is going on in it that i was never bored while watching it the visual effects in this movie are
really impressive as the violence in this movie can be very jarring and shocking throughout the
film as at one point it gets so bloody and so over the top that i was surprised that this movie was
able to have that in its budget es
pecially with all the fake blood in this movie that looked quite
good which is something i don't really bring up in any of my reviews but i don't know something about
this movie just had really nice looking blood like i would know what that looks like i don't know
and the last thing that i loved about this movie was how entertaining this movie was as this movie
clocks in around an hour and 45 minutes and it just goes by so fast as there is so much tension
and excitement all the way througho
ut the film unfortunately i do have a few negatives with this
movie starting with some of the characters that are introduced into the end of the second act into
the third act the characters we meet are the ones that our characters that we have been dealt with
the whole movie have been talking about and saying that they're such a big deal but when they show up
in this movie i feel like i don't get a sense of who they are and why they're supposed to be in
here as there's supposed to be a few
between these two groups that are talked about and one
of the last negatives i have with this movie is a bit contradictory to one of the positives that
i gave this movie which concerns its utilization of its small budget and its one primary
location as i really enjoyed it in this movie but i do feel like the scope of this movie and
some of the characters and the groups that we meet feel like this movie should have just been
a bit bigger and explored itself around chicago during this time pe
riod as i do think this movie
would have felt a lot more interesting and just a little bit more comprehensive so say overall
guys the outfit was a very entertaining film that utilizes its mystery crime drama film in the
best way possible with very good performances a pretty solid screenplay with great technical
aspects and a story that is very simple but gets tons of twists and turns along the way
that was on the edge of my seat the entire time watching as i think that this is a movie you
should go out and support at the cinema if you safely can do so because this movie deserves it
i am giving the outfit a 7 out of 10. thank you guys so much for checking out this review as

Loved the Sopranos t-shirt in the thumbnail! We are in total agreement on this one. I had no idea what to expect, but I honestly loved and walked out of the theater quite satisfied. Probably my favorite of the year so far. Thanks for the breakdown! 👌👌👌
You go into this movie thinking it will be good but simple and then they just go off with the twists it really kept me interested. Well done on your review I’m glad you saw it early!

Favorite movie of the year!
I enjoyed this as well. It’s a much appreciated film from me that I don’t think everyone will appreciate as it will probably be skipped.
