So we are going to pick up our ride and then we’ll head to Toronto. Yes. And this time around, we are ditching the hostels in favor of a 5 star hotel. This is because my nephew is in town. Where are we going? Not just a normal room, but a suite. When we were in Thailand, I made him adjust in hostels and bnb’s. But since he came to Canada, I thought that even I’m sick and tired of hostels. So let’s stay in a hotel this time around. This is why, we are in a Marriott property this time around. What
do you think? I’m starving, let’s have lunch. Let’s go. You’ll eat in a suite. Yes, in a suite. Before we head for Toronto, we needed to get oil changed in our car. Actually this is my brother’s car that I borrowed since my car’s AC is not working. So there’s a place called Mr. Lube here which provides car service without prior appointments. So the oil change costs $71 + tax. It will take around 15-20 minutes, Thank God that we wasn’t a queue. So meanwhile we are headed in this direction to a C
anadian breakfast place called Cora. Wanna have breakfast? For sure. What will you have? Pancakes. Strawberry Banana pancakes. Yes. With maple syrup on top? Yeah. Ah, true Canadian style. So now that you are in Canada. When people interact here. They don’t do it this way. “I will have one water please. I will take eggs, yes. I will take a juice. How much is the bill?” Instead they say “Actually I’d like to have a ‘Jo construction’ please“. Smile. Please. This is the country which is renowned for
saying sorry, thank you and please. Even if you bump into someone accidentally, you say. “Sir okay, I’m sorry.” If someone brings you the cheque, you’d say, “Can I have the cheque please?”, with a smile. Thank you. Don’t thank me. Bring a smile on your face. Let’s try it out. You place the order and we’ll see how it goes. Okay? I’ll have one banana and strawberry pancake and one Jo construction. What? Jo construction. Yes. How would you like the eggs? Sunny side up. Sunny side up. And your toas
t? White, brown, rye. Brown. So you saw him place the order but if you might have noticed, you didn't say please. You didn’t say please. Hindi habit. Here you have to build that habit as the culture is a bit different over here. In India, people often place respect based on how much money a person makes. So if someone makes less money than them, they don’t give them that much respect. Here’s its the opposite case. If someone is less financially stable than you, they are given more respect. And a
desi guy won’t eat food without additional spices/chilly. And we have to shoot our videos this way in restaurants filled with people. So rarely get to experience fresh, hot food. One thing that you need to take great care of here. If you are getting service in a restaurant, or any place where you are being served by a person, whether you are dining in a restaurant, getting a haircut. It even works for valet parking. So there’s a tradition here that you have to give a tip amounting to 15% of you
r total bill. 15%? 15%. So if you have a bill of Rs.500, Rs.75 would be the tip. If you didn’t like the service, you can skip the tip. But if you get a good service and you didn’t leave a tip, the person might come to ask you. They might ask you. “You liked my service? That you didn’t give me any tip?”. So that’s why leaving tips is important. So for instance our bill here is $35, so I’ll be leaving a $5 tip. So we are done with our breakfast. This is Dollarama, the $1 shop. Here you can get all
the cheap Chinese stuff. Whether it’s crockery, small items, stationary, utensils and their lids, etc. You get everything here. It’s not available for $1 but you will get all items under $10. Okay? Hmm. So we’ll get all your stuff like stationary here when we will get you settled For now, we are going to pick up our car and head towards.. Toronto. Yes. In just a short while, we’ll reach the highway and after driving straight for 4 hours on the highway, towards Toronto. But we won’t be staying i
n Toronto, but in Mississauga instead. On highways, I set the cruise control at around 118 km/hr. So the cruise control is active. The car is set at 120 km/hr. You won’t have to do much, the speed will be consistent. We’ll just sit back and relax. And there isn’t much traffic here, the ride smooth and enjoyable. There are resting spots on the highway at various places called on routes. They have a resting area, 2-3 restaurants and a washroom. These are sparkling clean. We’ve been driving for 2.5
hours and we have another 2 hours to go. My back is hurting, so we will give it a rest. We’ll have one or two Red Bulls so that I can stay awake. And onwards to our destination, we should reach by 4-4:30 in the evening. And by the way, I got a lot of birthday messages on today’s video. I couldn’t reply to the comments as I’ve been driving since the past 2 hours. Nikhil cannot drive right now. And since I have to drive till the evening. And after that I’ll go edit the vlogs. But, Thanks a lot. Y
ou want to come? Let’s go. Would you like to have Red Bull? Yes. Which one? Kiwi flavor which we assumed was green apple for the longest time. Yes. Someone told us in the comments that it’s in fact Kiwi. Though it tastes like green apple. Let’s go. He’s been taking a nap and relaxing the whole way. The gas station has Red Bull for $3 and Onroute is selling the same for $4.5. So this means that it’s costlier inside. We got robbed. You did it, not me. I didn’t know. I always get it from the conven
ience store. And if you want to get it even cheaper than the gas station, opt for a supermarket, where you will get it in $1.5. We’ll get it from the supermarket the next time. Not $1.5, $2 actually. Sorry. You won’t get it for $1.5 even in India. It costs Rs.100 there. You got sugar free today? They didn’t have Kiwi. Okay. About 30-40 minutes of drive left and then we’ll finally reach Mississauga. We will unload our luggage there and give you a tour of our room. I doubt we’ll venture out of the
room today as we are quite tired. We’ll start tomorrow. It stopped filling automatically. I’ve hardly seen a highway with such organized and smooth traffic, that too being one with has 10 lanes both sides. Finally we reached our hotel. So we have checked-in. We took a break from hostels this time around. I booked a 1-bedroom suite. Let me show you it’s advantages. What are you watching? Mission Impossible. Netflix? No, It’s on TV. The best part here is that you get a full kitchen with microwave
, oven, cooktop and full-sized refrigerator. What’s the report on your Mexican bowl? Really good. Is it? Healthy, fresh and wonderful. And the video editing is almost complete. I’ll upload this at 9:30am in Canada, so that it releases in India at 7pm. And guys, I’m overwhelmed with so any birthday messages that you sent on yesterday’s video. Thank you very much. Your support means a lot to me. And it is something that motivates me to make my videos daily and try even harder to put even more cont
ent online. I hope you like these videos, including daily vlogs. Though they are not on par in comparison with my episodes. But still, if you like them, Please don’t forget to hit that Like button. And for more such videos and their timely updates, Please don’t forget to hit the Subscribe button and the Bell icon. What was I saying? Did I miss something out? My mind is not working anymore. I still have to wrap up editing before I sleep. I’d need to get up early and go shoot Toronto in the mornin
g. Lots to do. Thank you very much. And just in case you are wondering how we shoot these videos, here’s an example.

@TravelingDesi

Hey Guys! Thanks for the lovely comments and I am really sorry for not being able to reply them since daily vlogs are more difficult than I thought. It is 10 am in Canada right now and we are just leaving to shoot Toronto so I can show you in tomorrow's vlog :-) Thanks for understanding :-)

@woodgatecottagerentals-san3799

Hi Guys... I'm a Canadian and watched your videos (using subtitles) and I think you did a good job explaining / showing a lot of Canadian culture. It was funny how you know our speed limit isn't really 100 kms/hour but really 120/kms hour. 2 things I want to add... 1) We dont say "cheque" here in Canada (American's say cheque). Canadians say "bill"... "Can I have the bill, when you have a moment please?" . Also, you're correct, we say please, thank you, sorry A LOT. But we also say "have a nice day". For example, I'm making a purchase at a store, I will say, thank you. Have a nice day" or for short, we say " "have a good one" (meaning, having a good day)

You did the right thing by addressing the basic etiquette rules in social settings in Canada and as you said it is quite different from where we come from. It is not about your nephew; countless people are watching your videos and I’m sure they would have learned something as well.

Sir, Just loving your daily vlogs.. And earlier I had to wait for your vlogs and now you r uploading these daily, thats great.. Yes they are not as amazing as your travel vlogs, but we are completely enjoying these also.. We got to see Canada and they culture and practices.. Thankyou.. Hope for your reply, Your Friend from Faridabad.

@designpro7843

I really appreciate that you are educating people on respecting other cultures. I think that is the most important thing. When one travels outside their country they automatically become ambassadors of their country and their behaviour will reflect on their country. You must include this in all your travel vlogs.
