Annual Maker Fair is on and you're invited. They call it
the greatest show and tell on Earth. Prepare to be inspired.
Maker Fair and City of STEM looks to the future and gathers
engineers, artists, scientists, and crafters together to
showcase their projects. Exhibitors include museums,
NASA, and tech companies and they will have activities,
workshops, and one-of-a-kind experiences for all ages to
enjoy. Los Angeles Public Library Maker Fair and City of

On Sunday, April 7th, enjoy a reading and
discussion circle on this year's Big Read Book. "Can't We
Talk About Something More Pleasant?: A Memoir" by Roz
Chast. Rife w
ith laughter and tears, "Can't We Talk About
Something More Pleasant?: A Memoir" is a New York Times best
seller and a national cartoonist society winner.
Chast's memoir provides comic relief for anyone experiencing
the loss of elderly parents. The reading and discussion circle is free
and open to the public with a free copy of the book provided
along with free coffee and tea. The Big Read 2024

for the beach. Join Cabrillo Marine Aquarium educators and
volunteers for their monthly beach cleanup, clearing the
shore of marine debris. April's beach cleanup takes place on
Saturday, April 6th at 9 AM. The monthly beach cleanups are
a great way to help out while enjoying the outdoors and
learning about the marine environment. The beach cleanup
is free and open to the public. Children
must be accompanied by
an adult. Volunteers meet at the steps in front of the John M. Olguin Auditorium.
