Foreign Ki Duniya

Hello Friends, Welcome to 'Foreign Ki Duniya' If you are new to this channel, then I would like to tell you that My Name is Komal and I live in Germany and I make interesting videos about Germany and other European countries Today's video is going to have a lot of information; especially for the folks who are coming to Germany as a Student or Working Professional So, in this video, we are going to talk about all those things that you should do after arriving in Germany and before we start our ma
in topic I would like to tell you some points which you should do before coming to Germany So, if you haven't seen my video on 'Packing List for Germany ' then do check that video, coz in that video, I have mentioned in detail how much currency you need to carry and I have included all these details in that video Then you would know, how much cash you should carry Second important point is Accommodation It is very difficult to find an accommodation here so make sure, before coming to Germany, pl
ease make sure that you find your accommodation There are many websites available; I'll add the links in Description you can then refer these websites to find accommodation so make sure that everything is sorted for your accommodation so that once you come this country, it should not happen that you don't have a place to stay and then you end up paying more staying in a hotel Now I would like to mention Third Point It is not very important ; however it will make your life easy if you learn litt
le German before arriving here coz if you are new to this country then you'll find a lot of things in German right from Supermarket and even in Government offices Everything is in German; so if you'll learn little German then it will be very beneficial to you So, now let's talk about the points, which you should do after coming to Germany The first most important topic is 'Accommodation Contract' Once you have the Accommodation Contract, then you can start your process to settle in Germany right
from City Registration, Bank Account and everything else it depends on Accommodation Contract So, I assume that you have found your accommodation then you need to inform the Point of Contact about your Arrival Date and Time in Germany so that you can decide the time to collect keys coz everything is generally closed here on weekends so, it is important that when you arrive in Germany and when you reach your accommodation; there should someone available to help you and to handover the keys to yo
u So, once you move in, there is important thing which you need to do and that is you need to write your Full Name on our Post Box coz for whatever process you start in Germany for that you will receive a lot of letters So, in order to not miss any of the letter you need to mention your Full Name on your Post Box If you are coming to Germany as a Student, so it's important that you go to your University and do the Enrolment and along with that you also get a Semester ticket do not forget to coll
ect that Semester Ticket Once you start living in Germany, then within two weeks you need to do City Registration City Registration is also called 'Anmeldung' which you can do in the City Rathaus For that you can check the appointment and proceed with the City Registration You'll need your Passport and Apartment Contract After arriving to Germany, one more important thing which you'll need is SIM card There are a lot of options for SIM cards; eg. Lyca, Libra you can buy SIM card from them for th
at you just need your Passport and you'll get a SIM card and you can choose what plan do you need so, you'll basically need this number for your Bank Account process Now that we are talking about Bank Account so let's first talk about what Students need to do Students need to activate their Blocked Account the documents required for that are Accommodation Contract, City Registration, Passport and Blocked Account details so if you carry these documents, then your Blocked account will be activated
And as a Working Professional also, you can very easily open Bank account. With my experience, I'll recommend Commerz Bank and N26 They have most of their services available online that is also helpful The Bank account related documents; eg. Debit Card, Password you receive these documents through letters in your Post Box That's why it's important when you do this process then you should regularly check, if you received any letter According to that, you can also activate your Online Banking Now
, let's talk about Resident Permit so once you come to Germany, they provide you a visa only for three months so your next task is to convert that Visa into Residence Permit so this process happens in 'Ausländerbehörde' (Foreign Office) so check when the next appointment is available and then you can apply for your Residence Permit Another thing that you have to do after coming to Germany is Health Insurance coz Health Insurance is mandatory in Germany and there are two types of Insurance One is
Public Insurance and another one is Private Insurance In Public Insurance, you have, for eg. TK, AOK Insurance and you can also take Private Insurance However, once you opt for Private Insurance then it is little difficult to move from Private to Public Insurance If we talk about Working Professional then out of both partners, if one partner is working then the other Partner and the kids are covered in Public Insurance Then, in Germany, there is a 'TV/Radio' Tax Irrespective of the fact whethe
r you watch TV or you use Radio then also you have to pay this 'TV/Radio Tax' which is 18.36 EUR per month per Household So, also do register for this as well coz this is mandatory So, now there are some points which are not mandatory but if you do it, your life in Germany would be little easy For Eg. Hausarzt, which means Family Dcotor Ideally, no one should not have the need to see the Family Doctor But let me tell you, just for information that everyone generally registers to a Family Doctor
coz of you face any health problem, in that case the first Point of Contact is your Family Doctor coz you cannot go directly to a Specialist First you need to visit your Family Doctor and then he further refers to a Specialist That's why, do also register to Hausarzt after coming to Germany The next point is Internet Connection coz there are many things which you can't do without Internet be it related to Work from Home or attending lectures as a Student Here you also don't have Jio SIM card tha
t you'll get 5-10 GB in a day so check what Internet providers are available in your area According to that you can buy the plan By the way, you can also buy these Internet connections from Germany's Electronic Store Saturn and Mediamarkt One more thing which will initially help you in Germany those are some Apps, for eg. Travel Apps you can download Deutsche Bahn and RMV App then you can check the train timings and accordingly you can plan your travel and I think everyone should have Google Map
s and the most important is Google Translator Without it, it is very difficult to survive Especially if you don't know German coz be it Supermarket, Train Station or any where else everything is in German so the translator is definitely going to be useful to you plus Wi-Fi Finder ; initially if you don't have Internet Connection or there are any Data issues, then you can also use Wi-Fi Finder with this App, you will find, where can you find Wi-Fi nearby so, this will also be very helpful to you.
And if any time, you don't feel like cooking then there is a common Food Delivery App in Germany which is called 'Lieferando'; you can also download this app These are all the points, which you need to take care of and do after coming to Germany I hope this information was helpful to you If you have any questions, then you can ask me in the Comments section; I'll definitely reply you can also DM me on Instagram My Instagram account is 'foreign_ki_duniya' please also follow me there and if like
d this video, then definitely Like the video share it with others and Subscribe to your channel 'Foreign Ki Duniya' and let's meet in our next video Until then, Auf Wiedersehen (Goodbye / See you again)

Can you also make a video on Sim cards? Should I bring my Indian Airtel/Vodafone Sim card to Germany? Or is it judicious to leave it in Indian itself?
