Dhruv Rathee Vlogs

It's posing with you. Today's vlog is going to be very special, friends. Today I'm going to show you my ancestral village and the city where I was born, Rohtak. We're going to Rohtak via the Western Peripheral Expressway. Here, you'll see many brick kilns around here where bricks are manufactured. As always, the struggle of trying to block out the sun. Does this have child lock on it? Let me remove this. I can see it. Yeah. Okay. Is it good? Yeah, I think so. It's good enough. As we are going in
side the village, into the rural areas, the road is kinda disappeaing. There's only dust behind us. We are in the middle of the fields. Some of the land here is owned by my family. There is a lot of dust. Look at this well. How deep does it go? Look how nicely I lit the diya for you and me. Which one? This one? This side, yeah. There's some bird feed here. Are you sure you're aiming it right and it doesn't all come back? No, I think... Because I see a lot of them flying back here. Guess who's th
rowing it not properly? The temple behind us, our relatives who still live here told us that our 8th or 9th generation ancestors who became saints this temple was built for them, and since then we worship them here. This is it. Fields as far as you can see, and this is the only building here. Usually, there is water here. But it's so hot that there's no water. The tree here is a Shahatoot (mulberry) tree. A lot of them have fallen down. But you can't see them on the tree. This is probably called
Indian mulberry in English. Juli has never touched a buffalo before. For the first time, you can touch them also. It's not that scary. It's not like the buffalo in Masai Mara. I'm not scared of them. You can touch them also. You're so scared of him. -I'm not. -I was not. It's looking at me. They got scared. I'm not the owner, that's why it got scared. This one is with the owner, that's why... It's horns look quite aesthetic. It's posing with you. It actually looks so much like a cow. It kind of
is, no? Yeah. This specific one is not that scary. Yeah, I can tell. They're all looking like, "What is happening?" Yeah. You know, I feel like explaining, "Oh, you know, they keep these for the milk and this, that..." but the Indians would already know that. There's nothing I can explain. But there's one small thing that I would like to explain, which is my ChatGPT course. If you haven't seen it yet, I've made a 4.5-hour course in Hindi with English subtitles on ChatGPT. Which teaches you the
basics of Artificial Intelligence, prompt engineering and helps you master ChatGPT. Whether you are a student, employee, or homemaker, you can transform your life with this course. By using Artificial intelligence. To know more about how you can do it, you can scan this QR code, or you can find the link in the description and the pinned comment. And when you want to join the course, use the coupon code HOME45 to get 45% off on this course. This will be available only for the first 400 people amo
ng you. And in all seriousness, I believe that you will learn a lot from this course which will take your life to the next level. So you can check it out quickly. And now, let's get back to the vlog. This one doesn't mind. But this one especially doesn't trust us. Welcome friends to Dhanana village. This is my ancestral village. Here the kids will show us around the village. Let's see. So it's extremely hot here. Everyone in this village is so nice. Everyone is inviting us to their homes. Everyo
ne is offering food. So, everyone is really, really nice. Many of them are actually relatives. There are many, many relatives. So, there's like 4-5 houses which are from different people. The people we're meeting here all these kids are Rathees. Even on the tractor, there's Vansh Rathee written at the front. It's too sunny. We're not here for long, so we are walking to the pond. The village pond. Only cows and buffaloes bathe here. They don't swim in this place. Let's go back, it's very sunny. T
he tractor left all the wheat here. And now they will take it inside their house. We just drank some buffalo milk and these are the buffalos it came from. This exact one. right? This exact one. Thank you. What do we say? -Dhanyawaad. -Dhanyawaad. This is the garden of my grandma's house. This is a nice tree. I won't show much so that we can maintain privacy. I've never seen rotis made like this. Never. Yeah. So, this one is my attempt. Let's see how it's doing. Do they fall off sometimes? We al
so have some Litti here, traditional Bihari food. And our tandoori rotis. And I mean, most people probably know this, but for me it was new. You first put your hand in the water. -Lota. -What is Lota? -Lota. -What is it? Jug for water. Oh, the jug for water. You first put your hand in the Lota, in the jug with water, to make the hand less sensitive to the heat and then you basically put them, like, you slap them onto the sides. When they're brown, you take them out again. Very simple, but not
that easy to do. Because I tried it and the hand really gets hot. It takes some confidence to do. You know this white butter? We're eating Tandoori roti with butter. Cute street puppies! They're so small! So sweet! They're not scared. They're used to it too. There are big dung pits in the village. They keep the cow and buffalo dung inside so that it can be kept dry. Even if it rains, the dung inside can remain dry. So that later it can be used as fuel or outside houses to keep the house cool. Bu
t at the same time, I would say that no one smears dung on their phones to reduce radioactivity. Dung is used only for the purposes it can be used for. The biggest attraction in Rohtak is the Tilyar Lake. I have many childhood photos of this lake. Many migratory birds come here as well. As you can see over there. And you'll find a lot of monkeys here. Yeah, it's very nice actually. This bridge used to be over the lake, you could cross to the other side. But its pillars have rotten so much that t
hey are about to break. So, it would be very dangerous to go on it. That's why they have closed it. -What is this? -Mulberry. -Indian? -Yeah. -Should I try eating it? -Yeah, try it. Oh yeah, it's sweet! The monkeys here eat everything apart from actual fruits on the tree. Everything that humans bring them. Yeah, trash is preferred. Yeah. We also went to the monkey forest in Bali. But there weren't as many monkeys as there are on this lake. What's the name of this bird? -I have no idea. -No? I
t looks so blue. A canal runs beside this lake. And there are many eucalyptus trees on the edges. The ones that you find everywhere in Australia. We were taking a monkey selfie in Bali. In which we feed the monkey with our hands. And the monkey would bring his hand forward. It would look like the monkey was holding the phone. But you can't do that here. Such a tiny baby. Wow! Looks so nice. One of them makes a sound and everyone panics. Yeah, overall I would say it's a very nice lake. It's very
pleasant to walk here. Quite peaceful. Even though there are a few other people and a few monkeys. It's more or less empty, I would say. Not that many people. Even on a Friday evening. Yeah. Not that many people want to do nature walk. They're taking stuff from the pots. Use me. Haryana tourism. He's using it very well. That's not what they meant. He's enjoying it as an amusement ride. I think he also threw everything out. This canal, my father says that he used to jump from here into the canal
and he learned how to swim here. But today, all around this canal there is a lot of garbage as you can see. This place is filled with garbage all along the canal. We came across some people here holding boards to get the canal cleaned. What is this about? My name is Dr Jasmeer, I am a professor at the Jat College, Rohtak. For the past 1 year 8 months, we have been running a small campaign called Suno Nehro Ki Pukar. [Listen to the cries of the canal] Is this the drinking water that goes to peopl
e's homes? Yes, people drink this water through water purification. Okay. But due to superstitions, people do this. We have researched for one year and eight months, and found that there are about 125 to 130 types of things. Why do people throw these things? Some people throw these because of superstition. Like on Saturday, they put oil, coal, and alcohol. So what are you doing to stop this? We conduct counselling for people, and we explain that the area where we are living in, there are only so
many water sources in this area. Our water needs are met by the water from these water sources. If these water sources are polluted. The cows will drink it too. This plastic, in some way or the other, whether through the fields, milk, or vegetables, or through the water, it will reach us. Diseases like cancer, liver failure, Hepatitis B, C, kidney failure, can be caused by it. So when people come to throw stuff, you guys stand here with the boards asking them not to throw stuff? That's what you
are basically doing here. We tell people why they shouldn't throw things, we tell them that the future generations haven't wronged us. Faith is a good thing. But with faith, first of all, water is also sacred. Water is worshipped first and foremost. If water gets angry with us, then for future generations, it will only create darkness. We tell this to the people asking them not to pollute this water. You can see the things people throw here. Today is Friday evening. When people come to throw th
ings here, these people stand here, asking others not to throw things in there. They tell them that the river is not a dustbin, for them to throw their things. Here this guy was about to throw things in the canal, so they stopped him. This is how these people work.
