Today in tech, Meta servers were down for around one and a  half hours, causing services like Facebook and Instagram to be unavailable. Users were  informed that their session had expired, but received an incorrect password error when  they attempted to log in. In a reply to Cybernews, Meta claimed that “there was a breach  of security earlier”. Scary times! Next up, China is providing AI  startups with up to $280,000 worth of “computing vouchers” to train  Large Language Models (LLMs). This is
in light of US export restrictions for  high-performance Nvidia GPUs to China, which are crucial for training AI models. While  this alleviates the GPU problem in the short-term, China would need to quickly engineer homegrown  hardware in order to not lose out in the AI race. Finally, iOS 17.4 is here! EU users  have received a slew of new updates, including the long-awaited alternative app stores,  browser engines and payment options. Besides that, all of us will soon be able to  enjoy cloud ga
ming on our iPhones, as Apple has finally relaxed  their ban on cloud gaming apps. And that is your summary of tech  today. I’ll see you tomorrow!
