2023 is coming to an end and that means that the typical videos for the closing of the year will begin to be uploaded and this is no exception because today we are going to talk about my top 30 best openings of 2023. It should be noted that this top is personal and may be very different from yours and that is why I invite you to leave in the comments your personal top of this year's openings that I will be happy to read. 10.- Sousou no Frieren (Autumn) "Yuusha" by YOASOBI I think this song could
be considered in a higher position by many people, although personally I am not sure due to the possible fatigue that some people could have towards the group YOASOBI (I I include on certain occasions). However, I cannot help but recognize the excellent production quality that this song presents. I was especially struck by the moombahton-type beat found in some parts, which I found very pleasant. Although visually it does not reach the same spectacular level as the anime Sousou No Frieren, the
depth of what is shown in the video has considerable meaning when analyzed in relation to the lyrics of the song. This cohesion between the visualization and the message of the song is remarkable. Unlike YOASOBI's other hit this year, like "Idol", this song hasn't caused me the same fatigue. Overall, both visually and objectively, I feel that this piece works very well, which has possibly placed it in the top 10. Also, the fact that this song is the opening of one of my favorite animes this year
is a factor that contributes to its excellence. Overall, I think it fits the series exceptionally well. 9.- Undead Unluck (Fall) "01" by Queen Bee The anime I want to talk about is quite underestimated, as I have been told, since I can't say much about it since I haven't seen it. However, when focusing on its opening, I must say that it captivated me from the first glance. Visually, I loved it; but what really conquered me was the song performed by Queen Bee, a group that has been standing out
lately. His talent was evident once again in this opening. Although I haven't had the chance to watch this anime yet, the impact of its opening and the praise I've heard certainly convince me that I'll give it a chance soon. 8.- Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (Autumn) "Hana ni Natte" by Ryokuoushoku Shakai Definitely, one of my favorite animes of this season and of all of 2023 has been accompanied by an opening that is not far behind in quality. Although visually it is not extremely dynamic for the most
part, I especially highlight the chorus, both visually and in the song. The representation of Maomao, one of my favorite waifus this year, is simply splendid and captivating. The dresses she wears in the opening, combined with a vibrant background and an exceptional song, make this opening something that I really loved. And to top it off, the final part of the opening with that tasty piano touch that concludes the song is, for me, the perfect way to close this piece of music. 7.- Bungou Stray D
ogs 5th Season (Summer) "Tetsu no Ori" by GRANRODEO I want to start by saying that I have not yet had the opportunity to see Bungou Stray Dogs, but something that I cannot deny is my fascination with all the openings and endings that have created for this series. Although visually this is not the most spectacular among the openings of Bungou Stray Dogs, what truly conquered me was the song performed by GRANRODEO. To be honest, this group rarely disappoints with the songs they offer us. Although
the visual section of this opening may seem simple compared to others, I consider that the Bones studio managed to generate dynamism in the opening with modest resources, achieving excellent synchronization with the song. Without a doubt, my favorite part of the entire opening is the chorus. I can say without hesitation that it is one of my favorite choruses among the songs I have on my list. It is simply energetic and transmits a great dose of energy, at least that's how I felt the first time I
listen to this song. I hope to give this franchise a chance soon, since many of you have recommended it to me, but it's time to stop putting it off. 6.- Mahou Shoujo Magical Destroyers (Spring) "Magical Destroyers" by Aimi Wow... I'm sure many were taken aback when they saw this opening for the first time. They didn't know how to react or what to think, but what I can share is that, although on my first viewing I understood absolutely nothing, I was fascinated by the creative freedom it exhibit
ed. As I understand it, the theme of this anime revolves around characters who long for freedom or seek to free themselves from some system (if you really know what it is about, I would appreciate it if you correct me in the comments). I think that at the beginning of the opening they represent precisely the protagonists of this story longing for that feeling of freedom. As the opening progresses, we get to my favorite part: the chorus. It's a tremendous visual explosion that is rarely seen in a
n anime! A combination of glitchcore-type visual elements and, aurally speaking, hardcore that fills my ears with madness. Many know this but I will clarify it again, I am a big fan of electronic music in all its variants and genres, and I had never experienced hardcore in an anime opening before. It's an unexpected detail that I greatly appreciate. I want to believe that this sequence, full of psychedelic visuals that may seem meaningless at the time, conveys the dark side of our main character
s: the violence, the vulgarity, the depravity, the disintegration, the fragmentation, and so on. What I just mentioned may not be the original meaning of this opening, but what really fascinates me about it is that each person has their own perception about the message it is trying to convey. Furthermore, leaving aside its visual spectacularity, all credit for this achievement goes to the animation director, Mr. Kenichi Kutsuna. Incredible work. 5.- Hell's Paradise (Spring) "W●RK" by millennium
parade and Sheena Ringo To start my top 5 of the best openings of the year, I can't help but mention the song that literally topped my Spotify Wrapped this year. This song in particular has become one of my recent favorites and has been the most played of all the songs I had in my repertoire during 2023. I love the songs of the Millennium Parade art group, and this song is no exception. From the first moment I saw this opening, I was fascinated by how visually beautiful it turned out to be. This
is largely due to the identity of the animation director, Shinpei Kamada, who was also in charge of the ending number 11 of Chainsaw Man. His hallmark is evident in the smooth transitions between scenes and in the characteristic camera movement that defines this opening. To say that the opening is a total savagery and I love it in every way but I don't have it higher because I haven't seen at all or I haven't seen any minute of the Jigokuraku or Hell's Paradise anime. Even so, this song and the
visual set are undoubtedly ones that I enjoy listening to and seeing the most. 4.- Link Click Season 2 (Summer) "VORTEX" by Baisha JAWS Being honest, I was hesitating whether to take into account openings from donghuas or Chinese animation. I was wondering whether I should consider the openings of donghuas or Chinese animation, but this audiovisual gem was simply impossible to ignore. It's important to mention that I've only seen the first season of Link Click, so I may have missed some of the
meaning or context of this second opening. However, from the first second to the last, its visual quality is simply beautiful. I especially want to highlight the crisp and clean CGI or 3D used in the backgrounds, particularly the opening sequence with the teddy bear, an achievement attributable to Singaporean motion designer and CGI director Sun Somei. If you are interested in exploring more of his work, I recommend visiting his profile on Twitter or X. What a job you did buddy! Until now I have
focused solely on the visual quality, but the song has also become in one of my recent favorites. I loved how they visually and aurally synchronized the first chorus of the song, playing it backwards as well as the opening sequence, a rare creative decision in openings. Although it seems simple, it is rare to find this originality in the creativity of the openings. I'm waiting to see the second season, but I'm sure that after watching it, I will appreciate this opening that I already adore even
more. 3.- Vinland Saga Season 2 Op.2 (Winter) "Paradox" by Survive Said The Prophet I want to start by saying that until now I have not had the opportunity to see Vinland Saga, but that does not diminish in any way the visual impact that I perceived from the beginning finally in its opening and let's not even talk about the song that is performed by one of my favorite groups of all time, such as Survive Said The Prophet with this great song from “Paradox”. Although I lack context on the anime a
t this time, I understand that there are divided opinions on this second season, especially due to the lesser presence of action compared to the first. However, what this opening conveyed to me visually, combined with the depth of the song and its lyrics, seems extremely powerful to me. When an opening manages to send shivers down your spine, it's a sign of excellent work. Although the ones I experienced during this opening were not as intense, the fact of having felt them at some point is somet
hing I value greatly. For that reason, it deserves to be in my top 3. 2.- Jujutsu Kaisen 2nd Season (Summer) "Ao no Sumika" by Tatsuya Kitani (Op.1) "SPECIALZ" by King Gnu (Op.2) I know guys... it HE. I know that I generally avoid ties, but this time I wanted to choose between the two Jujutsu Kaisen openings. After much deliberation, I decided to put both in the second spot, as I love both equally. Although, to be honest, I have a slight preference for the second opening, "SPECIALZ". As for the
visual section, neither of the two openings disappoints, both maintain impeccable quality. Personally, I find the second opening to be of slightly higher quality, although the first is also impressive. In terms of the songs, both have a very strong symbolic meaning for the arcs they cover in the anime. If you stop to analyze the lyrics of both, you will find a deep connection with the story in each one. Sometimes the openings have no lyrical relationship to the anime they represent, but in Jujut
su Kaisen, they made an effort to make these songs have a deep meaning for the arcs they represent, and I value that greatly. Although there might have been expectations that one of these two openings would take first place, another opening was narrowly crowned the favorite. However, this does not diminish the merit of these two excellent openings that they gave us in 2023. 1.- Tengoku Daimakyou (Spring) "innocent arrogance" by BiSH And in first place we have the opening of one of my favorite an
imes of all BiSH's 2023 "innocent arrogance" for the anime of Tengoku Daimakyou or Heavenly Delusion. Apart from the fact that I love the anime and it is one of the best animes of 2023. Its opening is not far behind and I could say that it gives even more effect and power to what the anime means as such. As soon as the opening begins, so does the symbolism and story. Two birds spin overhead, one white and one black. It's easy to see the association with Yin and Yang as they move around each othe
r, but underneath this, we have a character covering his eyes to transition to the next scene. There may be something that can be said about death in that sense, but it's quite a stretch considering the more appropriate symbolism that precedes it. With the scenes that follow this cut, we understand what this opening sequence represents. It is Kiruko and Maru's journey. They are both traveling through Japan in search of Paradise in this sequence. It's not exactly a revelation, but it serves as a
great way to tie together the vague and sometimes loose pieces within the plot. Also, I love the focus on line art in this opening sequence, which can really be seen in scenes like this. The characters don't have that hard outline, they aren't well defined at all. Incredibly fluid and open, it's a truly unique and beautiful style that they make the most of in all types of scenes. Even take the pieces of paper that flutter in the wind, they are quite transparent and don't feel incredibly well def
ined. Afterwards, there is a sequence that matches the rhythm of the song. It's a creative explosion with a focus on literal "disorientation." It shows maps and signs that twist, becoming indecipherable. Although it may seem disconnected, it reflects how complicated and confusing the path of history is . They summarize all the omens, setbacks and challenges in one chaotic poster. Everything that happens is impressive: scenes and details that are lost if you don't play the opening several times,
slow down and pause at key moments. The animation and details are ridiculously dense. He's very intense and has an incredibly strong vision that ties everything together. The opening is the story of Kiruko and Maru, but it goes further and covers more than just their trip to heaven. It is peppered with references to religion and restriction, expression and evolution, confusion and disorientation. It branches and shapeshifts to find the perfect ways to tell its stories, showing viewers what await
s them and what 's to come, leaving subtle and not-so-subtle hints and foreshadowing. I have to thank the animator Weilin Zhang for all this work , he has a quite unique style which you can discover on his Twitter or X, it was reflected quite well in the opening. I would like to give more details but I don't want to go into much detail, but with this you realize all the attention to detail that this opening has. For me, the opening of Tengoku Daimakyou "innocent arrogance" by BiSH is the best op
ening of 2023.

@isseig1138

@rainfive0583

@therick2

Saludos.

@cristianhcd

@patozuniga698

@Hydralisk-ir4pl

@maikaolsteven24

@rounderedits96

@JFLF_Gamer_Art
