let's go over the Sixpence vlogging cameras for under one thousand dollars now I'd say if you're looking to get started with shooting video chances are the device in your pocket is good enough to get started but that is probably not why you're watching this video and you want a dedicated video camera which does have other benefits so let's take a look at six of them now a few things on the criteria for what makes a good vlogging camera one it's got a front-facing screen so you can easily self-re
cord two it's got decent audio or decent audio inputs for adding an extra microphone and three it has solid image stabilization so you can get great handheld shots that's one of the criteria that we're looking at all these cameras for so let's jump into them all right so first up we've got the Sony zv1 this is a great pocket vlogging camera it can shoot 4K video at a bit rate of 100 megabits per second when shooting in xavc it's got a built-in 24 to 70 millimeter full frame equivalent lens which
is flexible enough to cover most setups face shots to close-ups it's also got some Pro level features like being able to record an s-log 2 and 3 built-in microphone captures clear audio but it also has a port connects to an external microphone downsides battery life isn't that great and it has limited touch features and also because it has that built-in lens you can't swap it out or go to anything wider so straight UPS aren't too bad for a pretty affordable well-rounded vlogging camera all righ
t and next one we've also got another one from Sony the Sony zve tab now unlike the zv1 this camera has interchangeable lenses so you have a whole bunch of options available to swap out your lenses and have different focal lengths it has an aps-c sensor which can record 4K video up to 30 frames per second it also has awesome autofocus and a bright front-facing LCD screen microphone records Solid Audio but you also have ports for connecting an external microphone and you can also connect a headph
one for monitoring your audio with the USB port you can also connect this to your computer and use it as a webcam now some of the downsides it doesn't have in-camera image stabilization it uses digital stabilization and if you use that you're going to crop some of your footage so you're not going to get as wide as the sensor is capable of capturing Also the battery drains pretty quickly and in-camera charging is slow so you have to make sure you have plenty of batteries if you go with this camer
a but great video quality great autofocus and the option of interchangeable lenses this is a great vlogging camera that is well under one thousand dollars next we have the Canon PowerShot g7x Mark III this is a solid pocket camera that shoots both video and stills it's got a one inch sensor so it's not going to be as big as the aps-c sensors that we just talked about on Sony cameras this Canon also has a fixed lens but it's flexible and bright enough to cover most recording scenarios it has a ti
lting LCD screen that pops over the top so you can see yourself while recording it's got a mic input but no hot shoe Mount so a little bit difficult if you want to mount an external microphone onto the camera you'll need to get another rig or something to attach it also some of the other downsides it can record 4K video but not in all of the image profile modes also the Autos Focus system is good but a little bit dated compared to other cameras and other systems out there and it tends to overexp
ose some of the footage so you have to compensate when you're setting your exposure for that but solid camera with Canon's excellent color science and it's great for both video and stills under one thousand dollars next let's jump over to Fuji with the Fujifilm xs10 this aps-c camera can shoot 4K video up to 30 frames per second unlike the other cameras this has built-in in body image stabilization so there's no digital cropping for stabilizing the footage it's small but it has a strong build qu
ality with a big grip that works great for longer telephoto lenses Fuji is known for having being some of the nicest looking video out of the camera and it even comes with film simulation modes to make your video look like different types of film stock straight out of the camera don't have to deal with it processing in post and it looks really good you also have the option to unlock even higher quality video If you connect the HDMI port to an external recorder like an atomos if you connect it wi
th that you can record 4K video at 10 bit 422 color space so unlocking hybrid bit rates and more color space options with that extra recorder it's got a microphone input so you can connect an external microphone and there's also an included USBC adapter to plug in where you can also connect headphones to monitor your audio so solid camera good color options right out of the box so it comes in at just under one thousand dollars all right next up we have some less traditional cameras first up we h
ave the DJI pocket 2. this one is a handheld camera with a built-in stabilizer so you're gonna get some of the smoothest footage out of all the cameras we've mentioned because it's literally a stabilizer now it can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second but it has a much smaller sensor than any of the other cameras we've talked about the handle has a mini control fall stick with zoom capabilities so you can control the entire rig without moving your hands it has a live view screen so you
can preview yourself and make sure you stay in frame but it's going to be a much smaller screen than you might see on a regular camera however there is a way you can connect your phone to it and use your phone as a monitor it's got fixed exposure and fixed focal length so when you're actually doing the zoom if you're doing a digital Zoom which means you're just taking your image and making it bigger so you lose quality and it gets a little bit pixelated when you zoom in it has four built-in mics
so you'll get decent audio quality but there's no option for connecting an external microphone so it's got some limitations but if you want super stable footage run and Gun style very portable it's really good option for less than 400 and lastly we've got the GoPro Hero 11 black yes GoPro is known as an action camera but they've come a long way to being a solid overall video camera for only a few hundred dollars camera settings now have plenty of framing options of adjusting the way the image i
s framed so you're not stuck with a super wide angle view which GoPro was originally known for for capturing all the action footage it has like non stretched normal views you also get really impressive color space quality so you get 10 bit 5.3 K footage at 60 frames per second or if you're doing 4K video you can do 120 frames per second rugged camera it's been proven you can throw this thing around it's waterproof you don't even need a case anymore the entire unit is waterproof built in it's got
a front-facing screen now so you don't have to worry about being able to see yourself you can see it on the front facing screen the built-in microphones are okay but there is an available media mod frame that you can pop the camera into it's 80 it adds a directional mic another Port where you can connect an external mic to it a 3.5 millimeter Jack for an extra microphone and it has two cold shoe mounts you can attach lights or that extra microphone to your GoPro also other accessory that makes
it more of a vlogging camera there is the Volta grip which adds a bunch of buttons onto the grip so you can have full camera control right from your thumb and it's got a built-in battery that you can plug into the camera so you can get extended recording time so lots of options and accessories to get a solid rugged vlogging camera out of GoPro for only a few hundred dollars and that's it let me know what you thought of our picks and if you have your own camera recommendations down in the comment
