that happened in that episode that's what you remember and then he got his hair chopped off by gu the Demon Slayer Nez he saved his sister's life who's still in there who is still not alive we don't know I don't know the the inner workings of demon life there's an inner mind battle happening yes she is still there but gu put a little muzzle on her I think mhm and so then he said that Tango had to go find this special teacher to train him to become a Demon Slayer so who was the guy stayed with i
n the village right I don't know M he had to walk to the base of the mountain which is where that guy lived I thought we'll find out um maybe very entertaining first episode I thought a lot happened I really liked it and I'm I'm on board a few scary moments for sure did we have any eye hiding from you last episode no I don't think so but I was getting nervous um very entertaining cannot wait to see what happen happens from here I am I don't think it's smart that he saved nezo but we need a littl

yeah just or hit like a a barrier she couldn't Cross or something yeah okay nobody's safe um I have so many question I definitely got really into it as you heard me shriek um is she going to break out of this muzzle like poor thing does she her clothes are going to be soaked with her own saliva but do you think that muzzle hinders her power or just that she can't fight anyone like is she still strong can she fight him without the muzzle like with the muzzle on no she can but she just has One Sin

ry and it's intense and then you're kind of laughing because like it's kind of funny yeah because the head grew arms and used his hair to tangle up the hatchet and then tandro headbutted him so hard great sniffer head like a rock this man is Invincible also I will go back to it what is that patch on his forehead right there's so many question power patch you know what nezo needs to flip that switch okay she is in Sister mode time to flip that switch and go to demon mode and just like destroy thi

yeah cuz he's a good person is that [Music] hisor next thing you know he's going to be like oh yeah what I mean you can't expect somebody to just be a coldblooded killer like right off the Hop he's got the physical characteristics now he needs the mental ones inside that rockhead and the super sniffer he seems to share some traits with our Goblin mask friend I wonder if that's the key trait of a Demon Slayer is to have a great sense of smell he could see the odor wafting off of him shoulders go

elling you like it is my friend can somebody just out of curiosity do they miss the Japanese translation or is it really Demon Slayer corpse like it just seems like there should be a better name rather than like the first thing I thought of was Demon Slayer corporation like we're all part of the oh my gosh LLC um I want to see what's under that mask he has white hair poking out on top so he's definitely old the master and I thought that um tanero was supposed to tell him that guu sent him so is
this guy like omniscient did gu send word through through the Demon Slayer core network no that was a serious question no I was I was kind of thinking the same thing I like maybe he got to him already but I I don't I don't really know how long how much time has passed since they like how far he went like one day yeah I think well he is not letting up I mean that's amazing he's got a girl another girl back foreign spe foreign foreign that's impressive fore fore no that warm up that's like you wan
t we go hiking [Laughter] he's so loud what no wonder he doesn't make any sound you're going to have to fight all the demons and kill [Laughter] them e okay not demons just booby traps use all your senses oh w [Applause] fore fore [Music] fore [Applause] [Applause] I think he's going to rely on a little more than a sense of smell if he wants to make it as a Demon Slayer okay I think that is what this booby trap system is it needs to teach him to like sure your sense of smell can be your number o
ne strength but you need to be able to use all of your senses together but he's had he's had no training that's the only thing he can rely on that he's used before so it's yes he has to learn all that stuff but it's going to be that's what this lesson is it's a test but I think it's also a lesson Fair no no I think so I just like feel like he's just trying to survive no he's going to find his Groove okay and also is he a ghost is he dead I don't know why I paused so long I I'm a little surprised
he's helping him though like they kill demons and he's trying to help his sister who's a demon I'm like I'm I'm a little thrown off there's got to be a backstory here as to why he would help him cuz gu sent him to him no I get that but both of them like I I wonder how many demons they've saved or not killed in their demon slain career exactly so I'm curious to see why they chose to do it this time oh yeah wa see look how quick he [Applause] learned look you were right oh almost made it oh waa t
hrew him down cuddle cocky oh [Music] man here got snapped pummeled by that bamboo he's being very gentle he [Music] is the music in these episodes is very very good but it also causes copyright issues so bear with me um very music driven I've noticed even in episode one um the music's great though it's excellent which is why it breaks my heart to have to press pause no I'm I'm just I'm a little surprised at how gentle he's being with nzo yeah that's why there's something fishy with him I I know
I agree like that's what I'm wondering with the backstory is like did he lose a child to a demon maybe his face got eaten by a demon yeah maybe or maybe his nose is just actually that big no with a goblin mask but look at his kimono I what's the male version of a kimono somebody tell me I love that it has clouds on it um maybe that's a super power there like a cloud soft as a cloud quiet as a cloud um the thing I was going to say almost came back to me but not quite and then it ran away so here

at he has a a similar sense of smell and that he does so good person to learn from yeah the thing I was going to say is when tanra was gasping for breath that's how I am when I run anywhere okay not even up in the mountains where the air is thin not even when I'm carrying my demon sister on my back and running literally miles and then up a hill no that is the sound that I make at sea level at sea level when I try to run that you know really important that I remember that to tell you but there it
is so do you think he's going to get accepted I think he passed the test you got there before daylight I feel like it's got to be more of a test than that that was my understanding of the requirements I'd be really upset no he's going to if I went through that he's like nope I guess we'll find [Music] out [Music] [Music] oh this is the end all right we are moving quick what so this is somewhat related to the episode somewhat not so the the only other anime I've watched and I'm watching highq no
w but previously was Dragon Ball Z oh and Pokemon did you watch Pokemon no oh I think I watched it cuz my sister was into that um and Dragon Ball Z moved so slow like they would spend an entire episode like getting ready to fight and and nothing would happen so I'm literally shocked at how quickly the story is progressing in and it's it's fun like that episode was incredibly like engaging very that is exactly the word that I was going to use very engaging had me on the edge of my seat elicited a
lot of outbursts from me um I'm assuming this is only the beginning I loved also that the demon had a little sense of humor so did I I was like I'm I'm still trying to feel out again with my lack of experience like where it's going with the genres I was expecting like only dark but not couple Chuckles there I know um very curious to see how this training process between teacher and student is going to go um nezo seems pretty chill mhm I wonder do demons need to eat to stay among the half dead w
ell and I wonder I came up with that myself I wonder gu gu gu he said I can tell she's not going to eat humans like what I just kind of assumed that was a demon prerequisite yeah so it's in their nature maybe because he slapped a muzzle on her yeah I don't know there's some there's something more going on here he saw her Humanity in her eyes yeah but yeah how often do demons need to eat can they live forever not eating um maybe eating is what like finishes the transformation like maybe feeding y
ou exist in this like half State until you yeah cuz I was thinking like if you can exist and survive without eating anything why do any of them need to eat anything maybe it gives them extra powers like that one demon was jacked oh yeah and he grew extra arms yeah and his hair could grow to tangle up the hatchet um okay we asked some questions please help us out but don't give any spoilers cuz that's not cool so hit us up in the comments below as always I would be so happy if you would like this

To answer Adam's question of why they are treating Nezuko differently despite being demon slayers is because Giyu said in Ep 1 that Nezuko (despite losing blood and being severely starved due to the transformation process) tried to save Tanjiro from Giyu and not devour him, he saw how different she was to every other demon he had seen. He also said how its impossible for a demon to resist human flesh and blood especially when they're so hungry. That's why he decided to keep her alive and sent a letter to urokodaki who decided to trust giyu's feeling.
"her hands are free why can't she take the muzzle off?" your husband is asking the right questions 😂😂

To answer Adam's qn at 20:16 , in japanese it is called 鬼殺隊 which directly translates to demon killing corps/squad/team. So, the translation is pretty accurate. I think that you are confusing corps for corp(which is short for corporation) For Sarah's qn about Urokodaki being the Head trainer, he's not the Head trainer. There are specific trainers for different styles and strengths of an individual. So its likely that Giyuu thought that Urokdaki's style of training, fighting and handling of the sword suited Tanjiro best. (answer based solely on this particular episode in order to keep it spoiler-free) And about the kimono qn, kimono can be for both male and female, it's just that type that is different. On the other hand the outer wear that Giyuu wears is called a haori, also for both male and female, which can be worn on top of kimonos or other pieces of clothing.
Great reaction, y'all! This is set in the Taisho period (early 1900s) and seppuku is still considered honorable suicide for failing your responsibilities. Tanjiro is responsible for Nezuko and her actions, so he must make sure she doesn't take any human lives...demons on the other hand... The Demon Slayer Corps are like the Men in Black (shadow organizations not officially recognized by the government) that protects citizens and covers up their evidence. Japanese tend to be spiritual in regards to your ancestors and believe they guide you in life, so they don't freak out if they see or hear dead family members. Also, Shinto religion believes all things (living and dead) have spiritual energy and can absorb "feelings", so respect is needed to protect yourself. Hope that helps. Remember, Urokodaki, thinks Tanjiro is too empathetic and indecisive to make it as a Demon Slayer! Don't forget, there are after credit scenes for most episodes, so please keep watching and you can pick up nuggets of lore from this world.
To add onto the existing explanation about Urokodaki's behavior: Almost everyone who got into demon slaying business has a soft spot for the innocent victims whose lives are upended by callous blood-thirsty demons. So if you consider that Nezuko herself, while technically a demon, hasn't had a drop of human blood, she's basically just one of those unfortunate victims that everyone feels for. Think back to the scene where Urokodaki tenderly gave a proper burial to the victims of the axe demon at the temple, it was all that he could do for them. For Nezuko, he must feel the same kind of passion and inevitably "I can still do so much for this child".

Kimonos are both men and womens, with some differences between them. There's also a few clothes that are similar to or fall under "kimono" but may be called different things. Strictly speaking, most of the demon slayers in this show including Tanjiro arent wearing kimonos but "haori" which is kinda like a kimono in appearance but just the top - it stops around the thighs/hips. You could think of a kimono as a full dress/outfit and a haori as a jacket to wear over other clothes.

Quick idea for copyright mutes: Not sure how you guys feel about headphones/earbuds, but using them should allow you to separate video and mic audio depending on your recording software. Just so we don't miss any quick comments (or shrieks) during those copyright mutes. Might also help enhance the audio experience of the anime 😃. Not a big deal though, I'll keep watching regardless! If you choose to use headphones though, it would probably change up your process on how you send things to your editor and how they will edit which might not be worth it. For example, with headphones, if you just send your editor your camera and mic recording without anime audio, then you'd need a way for editor to match timestamps when they overlay the anime on screen later. However, if you record with your screen/video already overlayed on your camera, you can record your video, camera and mic while muting your video/desktop audio. Then all your editor would have to do is add in the anime audio and any copyright visual edits. I'm not an expert though, so there's probably a better way to do it. Just something to consider in the future.
The most amazing thing about this is that Tanjiro had spent a day walking with his sister on his back, a night fighting demons, a day running with Urodaki AND having to defeat the mountain without any sleep!
Being a student to Urokodaki will make his run down the mountain seem like a stroll, lol.

This season's opening is considered to be one of the greatest in anime history, so make sure you actually watch it at least once. It's a serious banger. The head with arms thing is definitely hilarious, because of how it just comes out of nowhere. And Tanjiro's rock-hard forehead was expertly foreshadowed by the interaction with that farmer at the beginning of the episode! I don't know if anyone mentioned it last episode, but the voice actor for Tanjiro was also "Elf" from Haikyuu!
Glad you noticed the Tanjiro's earnings hahahaha, it's dashing for sure but it's also one of the key clues throughout the entire show and manga

the pacing of demon slayer is amazing, literally not 1 boring/pointless scene it moves so fast, really fun seeing reactions to it too
