[TRAVEL VLOG] We decided to try out the Sofitel Hotel in Manila.

hi everyone welcome to my channel and I'm coming to you from the subtel hotel in Manila [Music] well it has been six years since we've done any traveling into the Philippines crazy I think six years obviously you had some covert lockdown news in there but in earlier before the lockdown I had my second child and then you know we kind of stayed grounded over back in Melbourne for a little bit there yeah we haven't traveled in six years and I almost forgot what it felt like to travel again I felt l

ike a complete Noob like I was traveling for the first time not a bad thing so anyhow we are staying at the Sofitel Hotel I'll show you guys around the hotel I'm actually about to hit a workout trying to make sure I stay on top of my fitness we don't typically stay at places like the Sofitel whenever we come to the Philippines and arrive in Manila we tend to stay you know probably somewhere but probably a little bit more budget conscious for us as a family but given the fact that it's been six y

ears since we've been overseas in the Philippines we thought [ __ ] it let's enjoy ourselves let's stay somewhere quite nice let's stay at a couple of nice places while we're here we don't know if it's going to be in every year thing like it used to be so we might as well just enjoy ourselves and Splurge out a little bit and do it completely guilt-free so I am looking forward to that I'm looking forward to the trip that's ahead the adventures that's ahead the people that we're going to reconnect

with and meet along the way for now I'm going to get a workout in [Music] foreign [Music] so we're going to go into the Sofitel gym called sofit hi I'm good great thank you uh shook my bag down anywhere like that's okay if you want to use the uh that's right if you don't mind me having it here somewhere thank you real quick we got that pull down about a half rack a ducting machine gas press leg curl extension perfect here we've got the pin loaded [Music] I'm gonna do a full body workout on holi

days my training routine is obviously a little bit interrupted I may not always get the chance to work out every single day it depends on what what activities my family's got lined up for the day I need to prioritize that obviously I know that we need to prioritize my fitness but I kind of do that every other day of the year back home in Melbourne so fair's fair I gotta allow everyone to enjoy themselves and do their thing but what we're going to do is going to do a full body workout I'll do som

e start off with lower body and then I'll work my way into some upper body stuff [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] okay so I've just finished my full body workout I just did some back squats some seated leg curls some barbell bent over rows of a low incline press finished off with some bicep and some shoulder work so keeping it really simple like I said when you're on holiday it's a bit hard to stay on routine and to stay to like a normal program for now I'm just sticking to

a full body it might change but it's just full body for now to kind of hit as many muscle groups as I can in case I don't make it to a gym or get to work out tomorrow or the following days main thing is to get the body moving get some blood flow but also to hit as many muscle groups as possible so now I want to go and get something to eat but I'm going to show you a little bit down here because at the Sofitel they have some jacuzzi sauna now I will not be [Music] done in sauna because it's too

damn hot cool jacuzzi over here oh God sooner every day you can be kind of see the low light maybe I might help myself to some but yeah right now too damn hot to be jumping into a Jacuzzi right after a workout I've lost a lot of sweat a lot of water all right we've got to go to the we're gonna go to pee we have to go to P press P press P press P yeah yes we are going to use the pool first night yeah we're gonna give it a bit of a test is that right yeah yeah oh hang on we're not in the right lev

el where we're gonna sit up shop with our towels didn't did you that's kind of gross we didn't get that on film you gotta hold on to me now let me go under here all right yeah yeah we got all the big dogs here at the bar hold on to me keep holding on to me now I don't think I will be having a alcoholic beverage I've been trying to drink for the most part of this year and my body has thanked me for it and I actually like the feeling of waking up waking up and not feeling like crap okay stay warm

actually quite beautiful here in Miami [Music] yeah really beautiful in the evening foreign [Music] obviously as a family the challenge is always hoping that the kids hold up and so much to stay behaved so that we could actually enjoy the whole meal and I'll put it all to waste so yeah it should be good looking forward to this show you guys some of the food as well [Music] hello how are you can I please get uh some baked salmon some ribeye a little bit of everything please it all looks pretty g

ood it all looks really good I'm sticking to the meats stick to the proteins Steam not quite lean White Ah that's okay I'll leave those thank you I won't go too crazy on the sauce thank you very much that's awesome I'll be hitting Seafood as well I reckon it's pretty damn good all right I'll try the um the Lobster thank you um I'll try some crab might as well make the most of the seafood and um [Music] yes please yeah [Applause] uh some sauce um no it's fine thank you thank you very much cheers

[Music] when you get a chance [Music] thank you so now let's go hunt for some vegetables so I made the most Seafood it was very messy the crabs and the crayfish by now when I get some some vegetables to kind of balance everything out I didn't train today so I'm not really going to be having fun [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I think I might go for some rings the grace it's just self-serve is it it's the green self-serve yes oh beautiful thank you yeah this is it definitely want to load up on some

of this stuff [Music] some spinach as well hold this camera at the same time the green leafy vegetables on my plate and I'll skip the sauce I reckon yes I don't think I'll be having any of the sauces boost my calories up I don't think I want to go down that path what do we have here hi uh can I get some um broccoli with some scallops [Music] yeah just probably some broccoli and some scallops thanks then I have to shut this camera off and sit great thank you very much cheers thank you I know whe

n you're on holidays you've got to kind of live a little but on holidays I kind of want to wake up feeling good and not feeling that crap so I want to make sure that I feel my body right because I actually want to have a good workout in the morning and I don't want to feel lousy I'm over remaining fat food and stuff I'm Gonna Roll I want to stay with them so this is for me this is living it up agree or disagree thank you serving number four I've got some salmon chicken some beef meat plants some

onions and then it's like a zucchini carrot what did you have [Applause] this is dangerous [Applause] [Music] [Applause] now that looks very dangerous I don't think I'll admire it I'll admire it I don't think I'll have any of it there you go that was a nice little dinner Seafood night they call it sun Seafood they obviously but like watching when we are so I guess it's worth giving you guys a bit of a tour around the place so just in the elevator now I'm gonna pick maybe low level on on level p

ain and Spa restaurant Fitness Center La Spa swimming pool Gardens high levels we've got the casino Clinic they've got a pharmacy they're a dental clinic travel agencies get Decked Out level p so on this level here they're doing a bit of work at the moment because they they got some function rooms or event rooms that seems to be under a little bit of work at the moment spiral that's the restaurant we've been going to in the evenings down here is the walkway out towards the pool area [Music] is t

he entrance go in towards the gym as well the spa I was gonna go in there actually get a massage how are you I'm doing good you're well what are you up to now sorry I'm I'm not thank you all right there's uh the girl who drew through the last last yesterday uh we'll have to go home early yes yeah you don't get my block by the way thank you sir yeah yeah thank you yeah I was just gonna do a little bit of a tour around the place you know to um I'm just doing a quick Vlog on stuff to tell itself an

d we did some footage around the pool a little bit and spiral the other night as well or did something to the gym I think you saw that one and revived my story as well I reckon I'm going to hit that slide in a sec I'm gonna bring my boys out here just after I do this little part and I want to go on that slide because I'll be checking out tomorrow and I want to make sure that I've I've checked that one off the list yes and you use oh I made it to say yes this is Benny by the way me and Fanny met

yesterday just out here we just we both just said hi how's it going and then we kind of got into some uh because long conversation yeah I pulled him away from his work for like half an hour half an hour yeah but uh so Benny's an intern here yes and uh and how long you've been here again uh it's been uh I started here 24 so more than whatever month oh wow tomorrow's my last day in years oh I'm going to see it okay somewhere else yeah on Monday so yeah so what is so what are you what are you up to

now you're doing I'm you're on the pool Julie oh no it's not yeah oh it's a good little shift isn't it yeah yeah yeah I want to see my uh you know my future is in your plan you know you look good I'm sure well I'm gonna do a little bit of a walk around but I'm gonna I'll still be around here because I've got to bring my boys down I'm actually gonna go for a swim anyway so you'll see them soon all right thanks I'm going to spend photos thanks thanks fatty cheers it's really nice the staff here r

eally nice obviously that's perfect example of Philippine hospitality and just how friendly Filipino people are um you know it's really easy to strike up conversations I was in the gym yesterday and I had even just the trainers there very they befriend you quite quickly um so yeah it's really nice it's really nice to uh to meet meet everyone here yeah but anyway so back to the actual tour and out here we have our pool area [Music] so this spot over here is the restaurant area inside there and sp

irals all inside there actually enjoyed my stay here to be honest it's been really good so we actually had dinner over here last night this is uh this is Cocos [ __ ] and it is it is humid as well it is like 32 degrees and I'm just cooking we were out earlier today at Ocean Park Manila Ocean Park just nearby took the kids there we're gonna go and do some other activities as well later today I hope we just gave up we just thought let's go back to the hotel let's Retreat to some cooler pastures so

anyway that's Cocos the everyone everyone's very friendly here is what I love the cool thing I like about here as I showed I think maybe yesterday we've got a bar area we've got a bar area in the pool which is nice but I'm not really drinking at the moment so I'm trying to attempt myself with that before I continue around the rest of the pool I'll probably take you up around here as well so some nice palm trees we'll walk up past Cocos here as well so we were in here last night but last night w

as just windy it was almost starting to rain and I just wasn't feeling the vibe as well still a really nice place don't get me wrong but just the evening Outdoors that wasn't too good for it we got a food truck here it's quite nice so we've got this food truck area foreign at the moment I don't I haven't seen it in operation at all since we've been here getting a bit of a breeze as well kind of they kind of are near the ocean what's this over here like a gymnasium some sort of gymnasium in here

big function Area events area look back around I think we've got some tennis courts over here as well a bit of push-up pull-up station yeah this is cool um but again I I haven't seen anyone playing tennis in here maybe that's something that people book over the weekend or they open it for bookings only and if you look over here this is actually interesting because this is where the ocean should really be you've got Manila Bay just over there and this whole area here is all man-made so they're ex

tending the land all the way out and they're going to be building like another hotel for another shopping mall maybe but yeah really interesting and the Sofitel Hotel is also convenient if you want to be right near the airport you get planes that are just flying over your head all the time so definitely a benefit of going or staying at the Sun Hotel is being close to the airport because Philippine traffic sucks it's not good when you need when you have to check out early you need to catch a flig

ht somewhere else in the Philippines or maybe going back home and you have to be stuck in traffic on EDSA or on Rojas Boulevard traffic can't be a nightmare so yeah nice to be somewhere closer let's make our way back to the pool area again all right so we're gonna come back around now I don't want to be in this late ladies picture for our videos nothing worse than photo bombing or video bombing someone else cool more of an idea of what it looks like out here all right here got some spots here as

well we can kind of do special out take a nap sit down somewhere comfortable we've got some cushions let's give it a go let's see how comfortable these things are ah now this is nice this is comfortable but when it's so damn hot you can sandwich up you can see my skin is really oily and sweaty but lying directly out in the sun probably not that fun that much fun unless you want to just lay out there on a nice warm cushion and get your tan but I'd probably rather get my tan this line on a sunbed

or just go in the pool but they're nice little additions they're they're cool things to to have as part of the resort some relaxation amenities cool little seats in here as well which give us a bit of shade actually this is really nice this is really comfortable let's keep moving so I'm gonna hit up that slide over there that blue slide let's make our way back inside okay we've got showers change rooms all through here I want to ask Bonnie what's the other stuff that's in here makeup eyebrows p

lace vanity yes tell me tell me a little bit about what's the LA Starling team that's the salon yeah yeah her makeup hair makeup and lashes yes and that's that the other amenities is Gene let's buy yeah yeah good for uh I'll come back all right I'll come back thanks buddy um okay all right I'm gonna go up one level one level concierge area here before we have a look at the sports bar around here [Music] everyone greets you with a smile here quite nice you got LeBar Bistro Library as well wow dis

tance really nice [Music] if I was eating a lot of sweets at the moment and I do have a bit of a sweet tooth crazy [Music] but I'm behaved myself I'm being really good whilst also enjoying myself too I understand that we're on holidays you do have to let your hair down and I will have moments where I will indulge a little bit but also I'm happy with the lifestyle that I am maintaining that looks pretty cool and this leads us back outside to the pool area should we just come from there let's keep

going for a bit of a walk you really don't have to leave here if you didn't want to kind of have everything they've got a number of restaurants a lot of food options a couple yes wow very cool another video very nice I didn't even notice this area when I came in the first time so yeah I got a full Decked Out area here dedicated to appreciating alcoholic beverages [Music] now if I was here with my stepdad I'm here with my stepdad he does enjoy a good drink and every time we come back to the Phil

ippines I almost have to succumb to his his influence of getting me to be his drinking partner and so we always end up enjoying ourselves [Music] in these sorts of environments so it does kind of make me miss him not being here but I'm also behaving myself too oh yeah donut [Music] look at that donut he's 16. what what time does this area shut yes what time does this area close this spot is it open for it during the evening as well yeah it's hoping yeah it's all you won't shut until late or I I

will have to go okay okay sure thank you all right so down here we have our spiral staircase this is where we have the buffet breakfast buffet breakfast is really nice all you can eat it's great for the kids I wish my kids ate more to make the most of it but man the food is amazing so you definitely load up and they have the spiral for dinner so this whole area here which is dedicated for for dinner as well we had dinner here the other night it was about a hundred dollars per head so yeah you de

finitely want to make the most of it when you do come down here as well we've had the pleasure of sitting at different areas for breakfast and for dinner so we really have enjoyed stay here and making the most of all the little things they have here okay let's have a look at snaps snap Sports Bar it's very American looking hello how are you just gonna have a look around that's okay yeah okay so we have a slot machine area there I think there's a casino area down here which I will not be going in

to because I don't gamble who's ball table and pretty much what you would imagine a sports bar to be so um yeah I'm not really into spending much time here thank you yeah I'm not it's not an area that I will probably spend a lot of time in at this point in time oh that view just looks awesome so definitely it's definitely worth the stage being six years since we have been back and uh we missed it we really missed Philippines we've missed spending time here we 've missed coming to Manila and yeah

I just wanted to just wanted to come back and do a few things differently than what we would normally do one spot I forgot to show yeah just a sec I just want to quickly show everyone this spot here so this is another dining area here that leads into spiral um but I'm just gonna show don't come in so yeah yeah full dining area here bar all part of spiral okay that's it Luca yep all right thank you thank you yeah but this looks really nice here as well a little water feature all right let's hit

the pull we're gonna hit the pool again it's our last night here before we check out early morning so we want to make the most of our time at most of our swim time and I want to hit that blue slide at least once before we go I just want to go down okay all right what foreign here we go I wanted to go down this slide this is kind of like the little um Crescendo to the pool area stay so here we go all right thank you [Music] that is fast I'm not doing another one thank you you want to go back over

there yeah all right [Music] 82 kilos as well faster down that slide [Music] so my my thoughts on the price I'll just say it's been a great start for the trip this is just the beginning the first few days [Applause] back home in Melbourne light's pretty busy and it is so nice to start a holiday this way to start winding winding down or to switch it up a little bit it's just drop straight away when you're on holiday so this is a this is a good little start so I'm really happy with the Mustang I'

m really happy with the way the holidays started out for the hospitality the service we really enjoyed ourselves and the most important part is where we're making really valuable family memories here and you know memories that we're going to be able to look back on uh so I love it so I almost forgot one of the most important things of the whole say what people will probably would want to know is what do the rooms look like and for what for what you pay for um like I almost went the whole state a

nd we've pretty much trashed the room and we're about to get our luggage picked up I've just realized that I haven't actually shown anything of the room so I'm going to quickly do that one now we got I think it's called like the king sweet so keep in mind we have already been here it's literally the last day and they're about to collect our bags boys would trash the bed and everything like that as well so hold up we've got uh literally someone here for the chicken yes hi how are you I'm just doi

ng a quick video tour of the place before but feel free to go go and catch that taking the bags go for it yeah thank you appreciate it um all right cool so the best thing as well is to see the view from the balcony we get this view but the only thing is that every time I take the camera out here the lens gets super fogged up so uh it seems to be holding up okay now so there's a couple of different options that you can get with a room you can get the pool view or there is a City View now we initi

ally had we initially had a pool view booked but we they upgraded us we ended up coming a little bit early we arrived a bit early and so they were able to accommodate us an extra night and so by doing so they just allowed us to take this room so that we didn't have to change rooms after one night stay here at the Sofitel So um yeah so we originally had the pool view we got the city view look I don't mind that I do like the view of the city as well of Manila Bay I'm glad I was able to in the end

get some of the room it just occurred to me this morning I took footage of almost everything else except the room so anyway yes one foot screw to the room it's very basic for what three 360 dollars we paid for per night I don't know I've stayed in a little bit better but you know what it served its purpose and we're really happy with it thank you my man I want to get out um luggage oh yes yes sure sure no problem I just want to make sure it's got my junk here um all right I should close that oh

wow all right thank you very much so again so I just give this to the concierge okay no problem thank you very much all right so now I'll be checking out and look in terms of room wise I have studied at better but in terms of the amenities and everything that the hotel offers the entertainment dining all that stuff it's really good I'm really happy with it and I feel like we did get our monies money's worth out of it we've got a lot of good value from our stay here and I would recommend it to um
