by going back to the you know the battled days of trump where he just comes out with a word salad and you know whatever comes to mind and whatever allegation he can toss out that's a great question Katie and one that I'll be trying to answer today Donald Trump has displayed more discipline over the course of this campaign than some of his previous ones in these moments not really what you saw here today clearly not a prepared statement clearly not especially focused on the ruling today but I thi
nk goes to the point that sort of looks at all of these cases holistically and he tries to argue that they're all related he's trying to make the case that somehow this is all coordinated by the White House to go after him and taking advantage of the fact that he's going to have a lot of eyeballs on him because of the Colorado ruling today but this is it right to I think you heard there one of the things that I think was most clear was related to point that Ken made earlier this idea that arguin
g that he shouldn't be prosecuted for things he didn't mention any of the things related to January 6th he was making a case that he shouldn't be prosecuted for going after Isis or uh General solomani uh the Iranian General he killed uh when he was president those are not the things that he is being prosecuted for so trying to project out a little bit of you know protection for himself rhetorically as these cases advance and trying to draw people into the idea that somehow all of these things ar
e part of a massive conspiracy to stop him from being elected president Ken jump in yeah Garrett's absolutely right he was he's what he's doing is he's grasping at the legitimate argument that there are some cases where perhaps a president should be immune based on the decisions that he or she makes and he's he's sort of he's sort of trying to embrace that argument and and use that as a shield uh and he's again talking about drone strikes that he argue targeted killings which by the way were not
even controversial under law when people talk about that uh whether drone strikes being controversial they talk about Barack Obama's decision to kill an American citizen uh anir alaki uh but there was nothing about taking out the leader of Isis or an Iranian General was remotely illegal under us law but yeah I mean nothing about um his conduct in trying to overturn the election or or with regard to classified documents um and I it appears that he's hoping that the Supreme Court will will will i
ssue this blanket immunity get out of jail free card for presidents remember his lawyers in that appeals court argued that a president could order an assassination of his political opponents and could not be prosecuted unless he was first impeached that was their argument that's what they hope the Supreme Court holds most legal experts don't think that's how it's going to come out

@java_da_hut

I'm so old, I remember when patriots didn't need immunity for their crimes.

@camelshit446

Give a president absolute immunity, and you won't have a president but a dictator.

@educatedresponse4298

He's fooling his base. They are the only ones dumb enough to believe his crap.

@DrakeSmith-tn6ij

There is absolutely no reason for Trump to want presidential immunity unless it’s to avoid legal consequences for his unlawful behavior.

@DavidJ222

According to Trump, President Biden has total immunity. 😂😂

@PlatonPlaton-xs4zi

§2383. Rebellion or insurrection Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States. (June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 808; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, §330016(1)(L), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147.)

@BluSkyOne1

Every case to consider whether executive branch officials are immune from criminal prosecution has decided they are not. As the Supreme Court noted in O'Shea v. Littleton in 1974, judges and other government officials can be prosecuted for acting under color of law to violate the Constitution.

@tomcassidy2525

don't forget to remove the " made in china " tag from your fake gold sneakers

@mikemagura7064

What was interesting is the court did not say he was not guilt of insurrection, just that a state can't keep a traitor off a federal election ballot! 😉

@terrancekayton007

Can’t wait to read this guys obituary. 😑

@YZ250W1

Imagine what Biden can do with total immunity. Should be fun!

@Aaqe

The president is expected to defend the law and see that it is obeyed, in first instance with is example. How is it possible that an unlawful president is expected to enforce the law?

@farmerjones5479

Didn't hear what he said, but hands flapping like he was preparing for a flight! If, we do not learn from history, we are bound to repeat it!

@SalamaSond

People don't remember logical arguments (most people can't identify one): they only remember how the speaker made them feel. That's why "word salad" works. Our enemies think you are stupid, you beautiful, intelligent and righteous people, but I know you are smart enough to vote for me.

@DavidJ222

Trump: "Hello Jared...my favorite son-in-law. I'm calling to see if you can cash-app your favorite father-in-law 500 million dollars from that 2billion you received from SA while serving in the White House? Jared: "New phone, who dis?" Click. 🤣😂

@Markiboy3

Tell Biden to call Seal Team 6 in.

@jwhite9825

Yeah, he uses “ word salad” then says he meant to say that! We are in serious times and I just can’t face it if Trump is in the White House.

@DianeRiffee

I wish the media would STOP showing citizen trump in 3/4 frame during these interviews 😡 Show the person speaking in larger frame and put Orange Turd down in the bottom corner! Media is screwing up again just line they’ve done since 2016!

@viralnorn9173

Well if Biden has total immunity I guess he could take care of Mr Trump.

@williamwatson4010

Thiey allready lost anyways Americans have the majority.. Stand for Democracy it stood for you..
