educator of the month brought to you by first Mark Credit Union Mrs Murray yes hi hi I'm Megan with Kat congratulations on behalf of Kat in first Mar Credit Union we'd like to present to you educator of the month goodness thank you so much we love that so here at caset we shine the spotlight on an educator every month throughout the school year and for the month of March we are recognizing a teacher who comes from a law line of Educators Nikki Murray is the special education inclusion teacher at
Tuscany Heights Elementary at Northeast ISD and she is ket's Educator of the month she was my fifth grade student uh when I taught many years ago oh my goodness thank you congratulations when our team surprised Nikki Murray at Tuscany Heights Elementary School with the educator of the month award her mom who is also an educator was there to congratulate her as well as her husband so my mother was one of one of my teachers um and she was in education for almost 40 years prior to that um both my
grandparents were in education um so it kind of runs in the family going do that 11us 8 Nikki has been in education for 13 years and she's been teaching at Tuscany Heights Elementary for 11 years she primarily works with fifth grade and she tells us she loves her students I love the kids all right and what did you get I love working with them every day and kind of seeing where they start and the progress that they make as they grow um so I've seen these kids I've known these kids since kindergar
ten I know and to see them go all the way through Elementary School is is really special Nikki has two sons a fifth grader and a second grader and even with a busy life outside of school her mother maren vs tells us that Nikki always makes time for her students the next one one time she was at football practice with her kids and she was sitting in the car on her laptop I go what are you doing she goes I have to figure out a way to get these kids to understand this lesson it was 8:00 at night tha
t's my daughter that's what I'm so extremely proud of she's so passionate about her work and she carries her kids in her heart so that's a proud mama oh for sure I I feel like the whole team was out there weers well listen to this Steph has a side story about how they T her to give her the award yeah it was it was pretty cool so as you saw that was Nikki's mom Nikki's mom actually works at Tuscany Heights and she was in subbing for another teacher when we went out there to surprise Nikki so it w
as super cool that she got to be there to see her daughter get this award and like he said yes she's extremely so the mom was their sub got it okay I had it back no it's cool it was neat it it all worked out and it's funny because you know when we we have to check in as as a crew you know for to a school and we're waiting there so I didn't see Nikki's mom at first we surprise Nikki and then I see a woman with with a phone trying to get every angle I'm like that's her mom that's her mom so we are
glad that we got to do this story and congratulations again to Nikki
