Years ago I was leaving a party with my roommate she was very inebriated at the time but assured me she was able to drive. While at a stoplight she looked over at me and said these words that burned into my brain and I have never forgotten and from the moment I was home safely I vowed never to ride in a car with someone who was under the influence. I want to share with anyone who reads her words to me and if it saves one life it will be worth it. Her words to me in her drunken state were " Do you realize I am behind the wheel of this car and I have your life in my hands and I can do something to end it at any time while I am driving in the condition I am in", I moved out about a month later and as time went by I lost contact with her when I learned later that she was involved in a solo crash and was killed after leaving a bar. Remember those words and know that it is one of the truest statements that anyone DUI can ever say think twice before you get in the car with someone who has been drinking because most will not admit they are in the condition giving them the ability to end your life or someone else's. Call someone to pick you up call the police and possibly save someone else or your friend.
The lanes on the stretch are a mess. If you’re not paying very close attention the groves in the road will have you merging lanes.
I don't know if anybody has ever noticed that the Miramar area is not lit up. It's really dark, he has bad vision to top it off so he seems to believe that if he can't see the lanes then neither can I. Whenever we drive anywhere near that area he gets panic attacks. He dreads getting in the car, but he kind of feels forced to, ever since the day I was almost kidnapped. His panic attacks are justified since he almost lost his life in a car, not a car accident but anything that reminds him of that day brings back bad memories, if anybody drives anywhere near us he starts panicking "You're too close to the lane! You're going to hit them! They're too close to you they're going to hit you!" That's not even the worst of it! The grooves in the middle of almost every single lane throws me off sometimes. If I'm not holding the steering wheel with both hands and drive past one of those shitty lanes, I literally lose control of the car for a milli-second. If driving in the dark scares the shit out of him imagine what it's like being in the same car with somebody who hates being in a car and losing control of the car for a second. "Oh my God you're going to kill us!" He didn't get it at first since he's not from California but he has gotten used to it, that's a lie no he hasn't, I don't think he ever will. But he does seem to understand that we have a shitty freeway. 😢

😢 Good God Almighty People BEFORE YOU EVEN DRINK-REMEMBER NOT TO DRIVE ANYWHERE! Do NOT DRIVE WHILE INTOXICATED!!! You’re taking a BIG RISK OF KILLING YOURSELF AS WELL AS OTHERS! 💔 I survived but a drunk driver hitting our family’s van but my family was fine. He RUINED MY MEDICAL CAREER & my ENTIRE LIFE. I can no longer work! Allergic to EVERY SINGLE MEDICATION & brain surgery did not suffice. May those that died Rest In Peace but may those that are injured be healed. •sighs sadly• They need longer sentences for those that commit these kinds of crimes & ruin peoples lives.
