Two western Washington nonprofits win Classy Awards

Two local nonprofit organizations are being recognized with a national honor this week. The Classy Awards is one of the largest nonprofit award programs recognizing excellence in impact and innovation. For the last decade, the Classy Awards has formed a trailblazing leadership team ranging from the Trevor Project, Doctors Without Borders, and Shriners Hospital. The leadership council has evaluated thousands of nominations from organizations addressing challenges around the world and selected two Seattle-based organizations to be named to the Classy class of 2023. Our Roots and focuses around enabling and empowering and elevating the nonprofit sector at large classy has really invested in these awards for the last 10 years because this is a sector that is trying to solve the world's most intractable problems they're often under-resourced in doing so and we are an organization that is working to create a world where periods are never a problem there are 500 million women and girls worldwide that don't have access to what they need each month to take cure
their period and that ends up being a significant barrier to achieving gender Equity we approach our work very holistically from a patented washable pad that is a solution a girl can count on month after month for two to three years to menstrual health education to advocacy work so far we've reached 2.9 Million women and girls and 145 countries and we are incredibly honored this year to have been selected as the 2023 classy Awards People's Choice winner a refugee Women's Alliance we're an agency
that provides culturally and linguistically responsive wraparound services in over 50 languages we're so proud of our domestic violence team who serve over 750 people annually to overcome domestic violence and sexual assault we're honored to win this classy award for social Innovation and have this National recognition and we're really proud to back these Awards organization's worth learning more about supporting and then above all just celebrating thank you
