hello Japan Travelers today I picked out some of the most asked Japan travel questions from the comment section ranging from entry into Japan cherry blossom forecast General travel local trains and jenon bullet trains sua luggage and a lot more you've asked and I'm going to answer for at least try to more sweer questions everyone wants one and there's always more questions to answer for those who don't know AA card is a type of icy card used for transportation and shopping it's highly recommende
d while you're in Japan but recently there's been a chip shortage making people panic however the reality is that there is no need to panic as you can still get hold of the card especially the visitor versions of the card easily and let's not forget that you can have a digital version by using the Apple wallet if you are on an iPhone which is my personal recommendation so here are some sua related questions hi from the US I wasn't able to load a sua card using the Visa or Mastercard either stran
ge but I was able to load an eoka card do you happen to know if the eoka IC Wallet card will work all throughout Tokyo I know it's a Kanai official card so Kyoto and Osaka should be covered yes ICC cards are mostly interchangeable and you will be able to use them across multiple areas in Japan I have a question that bags me since my main phone is an Android phone and I have another phone that is an iPhone do I need to have an internet connection to use mobile speaker once the IC card is loaded o
n the Apple wallet there is no internet connection needed as the balance is handled by the special icy chip on the phone can you have a speaker card on the Apple watch and iPhone or just one or the other you can have one on each but you cannot share the balance between both you'd in essence have two balances think of it as having two separate physical cards does a s or passot on the Apple Wallet work the same as a physical card will Street vendors accept them yes your iPhone or Apple watch in es
sence becomes one big physical card that is accepted anywhere that the physical card is accepted if you use a digital twer what happens if there's a leftover balance can you get it back so getting a refund for the leftover balance for a digital Saker is nearly impossible you need the official Japanese only Saker app and then I believe you'd be able to transfer it to a Japanese bank account so as you can see it's not straightforward my suggestion is using App the leftover balance at awesome store
s like dony hot the good thing about digitala is that there is no deposit [Music] fee okay train questions Japan really is one of the countries with the best train infrastructure in the world so you will likely be raiding a lot using trains in Japan is easy and quite straightforward but there are still questions viewers ask so before we get there just a quick reminder to Please Subscribe and like the video I spend many hours putting these together and your support would help the channel grow her
e are some train questions we are planning on traveling to Kyoto on March the 26th from Tokyo for a day trip would you recommend with pre-booking caning tickets or is it okay to get them on the day also is it likely to be very busy given its Cherry Bloss season there are usually between 8 and 10 chins an hour on that route so getting a seat shouldn't be much of a problem however getting a seat at the time stop that you want might be trickier especially given that your travel dates coincide with
TR blossom season so yes I do suggest pre-booking your shansen tickets to avoid facing delaying your trip to later on in the day as a result of no availability especially since it's a day trip another factor to consider is that there might be cues for tickets on the day which could be timec consuming so purchase in advance will give you peace of mind just remember to arrive early enough to find your platform as some of these stations can be disorienting especially for first time travelers what i
s the best way to travel from Kyoto to haneda I'm confused okay traveling from Kyoto to haneda airport isn't as hard as it seems but it will require at least one transfer so take the shansen bullet train from Kyoto Station to shinagawa Station in Tokyo which should take around 2 and 1 half hours and then transfer to the KQ line which offers Direct Services to an airport the trip from shinagawa to haneda airport via the KQ line takes around 15 to 20 minutes so you could make the entire trip from
Kyoto to haneda in around 3 hours or just over the same route would be used if coming from Osaka or any other Shin cantan Stop south of Tokyo Shameless plug for cluke it worked flawlessly for me and it really took the stress out of getting tickets for trains I thought could sell out I even grabbed my tickets for Shibuya Sky because why not better than showing up and finding out the time slot you wanted is full okay thanks a lot yep cluk is a great way of getting your shinkansen and attraction ti
ckets your comment is a great way to introduce today's video sponsor cluk you've been following my channel for some time now then you'll know how much I stressed the need to book activities and tickets in advance so that you don't miss out and the platform is offered in multiple languages and in your local currency booking and using tickets with cl is so easy and straightforward and for me personally I think it can be a game changer to book on the go which is why I recommend you download the app
and if you use the promo code better on app you'll receive a 5% discount on your first purchase if your aftert train ticket CL has you covered simply head to the transport section of the app and choose your route you'll receive a QR code in the app which you'll easily exchange for a physical ticket at the station and what I love about clo is that their info is up to date and details so you know what to expect with clear usage instructions you can also use my affiliate link to purchase those tic
kets that you are likely going to purchase anyway whilst at the same time helping out the channels General travel questions these questions although travel related don't fall into any specific category but I know many of them will really help visitors traveling to Japan so here are some general travel questions do the airport limousine buses drop you off a specific hotels places or a specific designated areas all right firstly for those of you who might not know there is a bus known as a limousi
ne bus that serves Tokyo's airports and is a convenient way to get into the city it's air conditioner comfortable seating and even has Wi-Fi it can be a hassle-free way to get to your hotel or to various destinations within the City or surrounding areas with your luggage being on the bus and to answer your questions yep the airport limine bus service is a very convenient way of getting to many destinations within Tokyo and its surrounding areas including stops at specific hotels and predesignate
d areas like landmarks and major Stations don't forget that if your hotel isn't included as a stop there might be other nearby hotels that you could use as a hub to get to your accommodation awesome guide I have a question I will go to Kanai and I book my flight from LAX to Kai but I have a transit in haneda before my final flight my question is should I make two QR codes for Customs declarations one for haneda and the other one for Kanai or can I use a Hana custom declaration QR code when I'm i
n Kanai airport thank you all right as you will likely be transferring onto a domestic flight at Han airport you typically go for customs and immigration at your first point of entry into Japan this means that you will go through all the necessary customs and immigration procedures at Hanid airport when you first arrive in Japan and therefore when filling out your visit Japan web you'll only need to give the information to haneda and you will receive the QR codes necessary to get through customs
and passport control at haneda airport hi I'm trying to enter the details for the QR code but I'm stuck at point of embarcation I travel from Rome to Narita via Soul what is considered my point of embarcation then Rome or soul I can only enter one flight number so I'm confused this one is similar to the previous question the point of embarcation is the last flight you took before arriving in Japan so in your case it will be Soul consider the fact that your flight number from Rome to Soul would
not be in the system when arriving in Japan hello I have a question I went to Japan last year in October 2023 how long do I have to wait before re-entering Japan from the USA with a Visa free for 90 days I totally understand it's so easy to want to return and I had been looking for an answer to this question and finally came across some information that suggests that when entering using the temporary visitor entry you are allowed a maximum of 180 days in one year it shouldn't matter the time bet
ween trips but it would be for the maximum amount of days do you have any tips or recommendations for planning for a large group there will be nine of us going mid June thank you yes I've touched upon this many times the main things that you need to consider when planning for group is making sure that you don't get caught out therefore I strongly suggest that you book your accommodation in advance to ensure that you find availability to fit everyone into one hotel or look into Airbnb to share yo
ur space booking train tickets in advance would in my opinion be strongly recommended especially if you want to sit together attraction tickets are sometimes hard to book on the day let alone for a large group so once again book these in advance my affiliate link with cl is a great way to do this dining together could could be a struggle but it's not impossible so I suggest that you reserve tables in advance or simply come to the realization that splitting up into two groups at some dining spots
will make life a lot easier I also suggest that if you do come across a restaurant that interests you whilst you're outside seeing you ask to see if they can reserve a table but my biggest tip when traveling in a large group is that it's important to remember that not everyone might want to do the same thing and splitting up is absolutely fine but keeping in touch will be par amount so having a data connection will be very important check out my affiliate links in the website for that if you're
interested [Music] too luggage questions so many of you worry about luggage and rightly so the thought of having to tag a suitcase through a busy Tokyo Station and training can bring travel anxiety to anyone even a seasoned Japan traveler like myself so hopefully these answers will help put your mind at ease we plan to stay at rans in Kyoto Landing in haneda taking the shanson there does the one day luggage Transport Service cover these types of places ran or would we need to make sure we're st
aying at a nearby luggage pickup station additionally at the end of our trip going back to Tokyo flying from haneda what would you recommend a process to avoid luggage on the train traveling to Hana airport for departure fearful of using luggage service going towards the airport so firstly what is luggage forwarding also known as Tako hyan delivery servic luggage fing is a service commonly offered in Japan that allows travelers to send their luggage from one location to another typically from th
e current accommodation to the next destination without having to carry it themselves and I highly recommend everyone make use of it especially for longer distance travel and to answer the question yes these Services typically cover a wide range of accommodations including rans however I do recommend that you confirm with your specific rokan whether they accept luggage deliveries through these Services most rans are accustomed to handling luggage deliveries and will even help you when sending th
em to the next destination for your way back if you're fearful of sending it to the airport then I suggest that you make sure that you have booked a luggage area seat on the shinkansen and make the easy change at shinagawa to the KQ line and if you're already in Tokyo you could also consider the limousine bus service or the monor rail from hamat station which have luggage areas on board wait hotels can forward your luggage to the next Hotel do they do it for free or what Yep this is a service th
at is available at most hotels and accommodation although using Lage forwarding services at renting accommodation like Airbnb can sometimes be tricky or impossible the service comes at a fee one that I personally think is worth paying especially for longdistance travel you're paying for the convenience of not having to carry or worry about your luggage you can usually also use luggage counters for example Yamato and some comini to send your luggage if you need to and some hotels will even put yo
ur suitcase in your room so it will be there waiting for you once you check in and a little bonus tip from my personal experience is that you can usually postate your luggage forwarding into the future as a way to hold your luggage or for when you might not need to Lug around large suitcases during some legs of your [Music] trip I wanted to quickly answer some Sakura forecast questions and update you in that area can I still get the chance to catch the sakuda Bloom on the 15th of April I arrive
in Japan on that day yes hopefully anyway Sakura Bloom at different times mostly starting in the South moving North and at higher elevations so although it's likely that by that date the flowers will be gone in Tokyo area you'll easily be able to travel North perhaps to modoka and you'll hopefully get some there also remember that there are later blooming varieties too with Gardens SE shuken being a great location to view these currently the seventh forecast which was published on the 7th of Mar
ch sets Tokyo buds to start opening around the 23rd of March with a full bloom predicted around the 30th so there you have it I've answered some of the top ask Japan travel questions did I miss any out comment below and I might pick yours for the next Q&A travel video did you know that I also answer your questions live every Sunday at 9:30 p.m. Central European Time so pop into chat I look forward to it and if you found this useful consider subscribing to help the channel grow it we does take ma

I don't often comment on videos, but I have gone through countless Japan videos in the past month in the build up to my trip which I am finally taking this month. Your videos have not only been incredibly helpful but also very comforting and reassuring to watch. Thank you for all the effort you have put into the videos, and I will be following along even when I am back from Japan !

@froglady4360

Another very informative video Nathan! Thanks so much for clarifying these questions for tourists that are a bit confused by the mountain of misinformation on social media ❤

@FORARIESONLY

Heads up RE: the airport limousine. We booked a hotel that is a stop because we have an early flight out of Narita. If you have early morning flights double check the schedules because they don't start running until a certain time and even then it may not stop at your hotel, even if it is a stop. At the end of the day we had to take the Narita express.

@FORARIESONLY

This video is great it has all the answers to questions I had researched over the last 2 months!

@Flupke1070

@Gazumi-inOZ

Well done ! Great Q&A video for travel info particularly 1st time Japan visitors. Excellent to see the limousine airport bus service included 🤗 ... ahhhh the ease of transfer directly from the airport arrival doors to Tokyo centre provided by luggage loading attendees, riding in air-conditioned comfortable seating while enjoying the large-window sightseeing trip as you travel. 🚌 Only wish I realised how good the LBS was on my 1st trip rather than my 5th. Since then, it's been the only way I go !

@CB-sx8xh

Recent trip in Feb and I was so happy and impressed that the ICOCA card I saved from my 2019 trip worked problem-free in Tokyo and also on the monorail in Okinawa, I found that I needed an OKICA card (local Okinawa IC card) for using local bus services (or cash but the card was more convenient). Amusing that the names are so similar sounding 😂. In Australia the buses and trains allow payment by tapping a credit card which is very convenient for tourists...

@backintheclay

Great Segment! Great Segment! 180 days per year! (max days per year for the 90 day Tourist Visa) That's the answer, I got this video!

@gregdavey3826

Had a busy day Meji Shrine,Sky Tower,Rainbow Bridge,short cruise.did a lot of walking.

@sueblakey1858

We were told to send luggage from Tokyo to Osaka from the hotel we are staying at would to take 3 days.

@JWL216

Yes some foreign credit cards would not work on the digital Suica card. I know north American visas were having issues where it would not work. Not sure if they fixed this or not. But don’t be caught unaware of this issue.

@chirayatabasu

Could you please share some update on the entry restrictions to Gion District, Kyoto from April 2024 onwards ! Thank you !

@starkiller3995

Question about IC card Do you use the card to purchase a ticket at a ticket station loading the ticket onto the card, then walk through the gate scanning it or Do you simply walk through the gate scanning your card and then go where you need to then when you exit through the gate you scan again and are charged automatically for the distance you traveled?

@camilogonzalez7770

You are awesome Nathan, I truly hope I get to scream NINJAMONKEY in Japan next week.....
