Welcome to another Movie Plot! It Begins 65 million years ago, before mankind existed Six alien warriors have been tasked with protecting
the Earth and the life-affirming Artefact called the
Zeo Crystal. The Red Ranger's failed in his mission and apologises to Yellow as the leader of
their team and receives her suit in the form of a Power
Coin before she succumbs to her wounds and dies. Only the red Ranger Zordon is left alive and
calls in a meteor strike from his robotic assistant Alpha 5. The
alien buries his suit alongside the rest
of the ranger's coins except for the green’s which is still being wielded by the ranger
Rita Repulsa after betraying her team in search of greater
power. Zordon denies her requests to hand over the
Zeo Crystal as it'll destroy all life and as the meteor crashes down it kills the
Red Ranger and results in the dinosaurs extinction, but the crystal’s left safe to continue
life until the evolution of the human race. The space witch's sceptre's shattered and s
he's launched to the bottom of the ocean being detached from the green power coin as we jump ahead to present-day Angel Grove
in California where she's never been seen since. A student named Jason and his friends are
sneaking a cow into the school for a prank but get nowhere with it before police arrive
and chase the troublemakers off campus. While intoxicated Jason leads a high speed
chase through the streets of Angel Grove before crashing and getting himself arrested. He’s placed under house a
rrest and driven to detention on the weekends by
his father Sam who’s angry about him getting removed from
the team where he’s the star player and expected
by everyone to behave a certain way. The intelligent loner Billy's in detention
for blowing up his lunchbox in class and Jason notices him being bullied so he
intervenes with a simple slap to calm the bully down. A cheerleader who Jason awkwardly tries to
remain cool around named Kimberly just received detention for sharing a private
picture
of her friend around school. She says she didn’t do it but gets excommunicated by her group nonetheless
in a rather "mean girls" way so she decides to cut her hair and quit the
team to find friends that’ll trust her. Afterwards Jason plans to spend another night
inside but Billy says he can borrow his car and is even able to deactivate the ankle monitor
for helping him. So that night before curfew Jason races across town to Billy's house who uses chicken wire and tricks the signal
into thinking
Jason’s at home. Before lending him the car Billy has Jason
drop him with some equipment at the town's goldmine
to explore an activity he would do with his father before
he passed away a few years earlier. Another student Zack comes to escape his problems
at home where he's required to take care of his terminally
ill mother and has recently noticed Trini coming to escape
her own dramas but has never spoken to her or any of the
others before today. When leaving Jason happens upon Kimberly who’s c
ome to the swimming hole after detention
to blow off steam and meets Jason for the first time. They relate over their hatred for Angel Grove and the expectations everyone puts on them when just then Billy rigs up his equipment which happens to be explosives and destroys
the side of a cliff. It gets the attention of Jason and Kimberley
as well as Zack who all begin arguing over Billy’s casual
use of dynamite. When Trini comes to investigate the rest of the cliff collapses unveiling
the giant slab
of obsidian containing the power coins hidden by Zordon. Against Billys wishes, Zack begins breaking
into it releasing the colourful coins that they each take one of when Suddenly security show up and they all
flee in separate directions. Jason and Billy pick up the girls in the van while Zack hitches a ride with the strangers
by leaping on top of it at high speed. Now all together and having seen them do it
in the movies, Billy tries to lose security by beating a
train but misjudges it and is
completely destroyed inside the minivan. All five wake up the next morning unharmed and with newfound super strength beyond their
control. Now the power coins refuse to leave their sides and Billy finds himself unbullyable at school to the extent of taking the bullies headbutts
like a brick wall. His popularity rises but Kimberley and Jason
worry about what this might mean, as the Power coins begin levitating during
recess and heat up the counter enough to melt surrounding
lunches. Meanwhile Sam
’s out on the ocean trawling
for fish when he discovers the dormant remains of Rita. He tosses her in the freezer until they get
back but the green power coin’s still in her
possession and she awakens. When the boat pulls into harbour Sam hands the crime scene over to an officer
who inspects the corpse but the Green Ranger resurrects and attacks
him. Afterwards the witch begins collecting pieces
of gold to recreate her staff and raise her enforcer
Goldar first by forcefully removing the gold fil
lings
of sailors around the docks. Once her staffs nearly complete she visits
a jewellers and begins consuming the gold and turning
it into liquid to finish off her staff. When an officer attempts to stop her Rita combines the green power coin into the
head giving her the power to summon one of her
minions to destroy the store. After school Kimberly gives the boys a lift
to the goldmine since Billy's vans destroyed and find Zack already searching the area. Trini shows up and the five showcase th
eir
newfound abilities by running around the quarry and leaping over
a large ravine but the terrified Billy falls into a pool
of water below and the rest follow. Trini’s hesitant to make friends with Kimberley assuming she’s stuck up like the other cheerleaders but in an attempt to make new friends the soon to be pink ranger tackles her into
the cave. They each begin to glow the colours of the
respective power coins which leads them underwater into an upside-down
pocket of air. Inside they disco
ver an ancient spaceship that’s been buried underground for the past
65 million years. It opens at the arrival of the coins and the inquisitive students enter to find
the artificial intelligence Alpha 5 where he's sat waiting for the arrival of
new rangers this whole time. He shows them to the bridge where the five step onto pedestals and awakens
Zordon's consciousness having been stored in the ships matrix by
Alpha. The terrified teens attempt to run but the
ship seals them inside and forces th
e role of universal protectors
upon them. As a warning Zordon shows them a vision of
Rita and says that they have only eleven days until
she creates Goldar and regains her full power. It scares the group who make Alpha open the
doors and leave with no intention of returning but Zordon pleads with the new Leader of the
Rangers to prepare the others for Rita’s attack. When Jason catches up to the team he convinces
them to return tomorrow which isn’t hard to do with Billy who’s
hyped about being a
superhero. The next day the rangers all meet up again
at the ship to begin their training. They try to channel energy from a realm called
the Morphin Grid that gives them their ability to morph into
their costumes but they still need to do the action themselves and to Zordon's displeasure none are able
to perform. The mentor has Alpha take the team into a
cave beneath the ship to train against simulations of Rita's rock
monsters called Putties. Over the next week the droid trains them to
battle
her army and the five become friends with the shared
goal in mind of saving the world. With the Zeo Crystal going missing after Zordons
defeat Zack begins investigating and surmises that
it’s buried beneath the towns present day Krispy Kreme. After another unsuccessful attempt at morphing Alpha reveals their uniquely individual Zords in an attempt to inspire the new Rangers. Created from the same material as their suits and formed into the most powerful creatures
on the planet at the time of cre
ation, the group all return to training in hopes
of bonding with their dinosaurs. Except Zack who decides to take his Zord out
for a joyride before even morphing, and therefore being unable to control it and almost killing the other Rangers when
he crashes it into the cave. It causes him and Jason to almost get into
a fight where in trying to separate the two Billy spontaneously morphs into his blue suit
for protection. Unable to replicate it once he turns back a disappointed Zordon dismisses th
em once
again for their lack of progress. Shortly after Jason returns alone to overhear
that once the Rangers morph it will open the Morphing Grid and allow Zordon
to restore his physical body. Feeling betrayed Jason accuses Zordon of using
the team for his own benefit and leaves to rejoin his new friends camping
out in the woods. They sit around the fire and create a bond
by revealing secrets about themselves. like Zack's biggest fear is being alone when
his mom dies and that Trini’s attracted
to girls but
her parents just think she's on drugs. "Pee in this!" Because of this Rita targets Trini and tries
to relate with her being the outsider while trying to convince her to help locate
the Zeo Crystal. Trini fights back so Rita threatens that she’s
killed the yellow ranger before and shows off the new form of her green suit before telling Trini to locate the crystal
or she destroys Angel Grove tomorrow. At the same time Kim visits Jason and feels like she’s holding the team back
from mo
rphing by not telling them her secret. She admits that she really did share around
the private pictures of her friend which is when she realised she turned full
'mean girl' and needed to change her life. They’re both called to a meeting with the
rest of the team by Trini who reveals that Rita’s real and that what
Zordon said is true. Jason’s quick to take leadership of the
team and hunt her down but the others are sceptical so he reveals Zordons motive of using them
to return but motivates them
by saying that they should
be trying to do something anyway to save their home. The team go to the docks but are ambushed
by Rita who with her staff channelling the morphing
grid is quick to defeat them. After a headbutt from Jason, Rita tortures Zack forcing Billy to reveal
the location of the Zeo crystal as being buried beneath the donut shop. She thanks Billy by drowning him infront of
the others, then releases them as she thinks they currently
pose no threat to her plan. The Rangers take Bil
ly's body to the ship
and beg Zordon to resurrect him but he tells them that he
doesn’t have the power and admits that he also got his team killed when leading them against Rita before they
were ready. Jason takes the blame as the red ranger and they all admit that they'd give their
lives for Billy and in doing so they unlock the Morphing Grid that Zordon quickly dips away to access. He soon returns having sacrificed his only
chance at being restored into physical form to revive Billy. He tells
Jason that there can be only one
Red Ranger and that his time's passed so with the five together again and with complete
trust in their mentor the Rangers are able to morph into their light
armour. Meanwhile above them Rita begins summoning
her army of Putties to attack them in their lair. With the Rangers NOW at full strength, they begin battling their way through the
Putties while Rita with the help of the goldmine creates
her abomination Goldar that’ll rip the Zeo Crystal from the earth. Afte
r the Rangers destroy the Putties, they notice Rita’s already reached Angel
Grove and is destroying buildings in search of Krispy
Kreme. The Rangers all retrieve their Zordz to chase
after her with Billy in the Triceratops Jason in the Tyrannosaurs Trini in the Sabre-tooth Zack in the Mastodon and Kimberley in the Pterodactyl. To hold them back Rita begins to summon hundreds
of more Putties until she eventually locates the donuts while Goldar easily knocks the Zords away and begins to tunnel und
erground searching
for the crystal. During the battle, Jason disembarks the Zord to save his father from being collateral damage but follows Zordon’s rule of keeping the
Rangers identities a secret. Finding no other way to reach the witch Kimberley picks Billy’s Zord up and throws
him straight through the liquid Goldar into Rita defeating them both and reducing the Putties
into pebbles. With the two villains feeding off the other, the gold giants able to heal the witch back
to full health and sh
e in turn restores Goldar's full power. He smashes through the ground to reveal the
Zeo Crystal and the Rangers make a final stand to hold
him back from reaching it. The towering Goldar takes the Zords best efforts and crushes Kimberleys wings while pushing
them into the core of the earth, where they fully expect to all die together
and say their final pieces on the fall but the Zords fuse together and reemerge into what Billy aptly names the Megazord. The forty-metre-tall robots controlled by
a
ll five in unison with the girls on each arm and the boys on
the legs and the Red Ranger leading them against Rita who merges with Goldar for the final fight. Even when the giant draws his sword the Rangers easily defeat Rita using moves
taught to them by the Alpha 5. They slay Goldar with their own pair of pink
swords made from Kim’s Zord and Rita collapses out to offer one last threat that more like her will come looking for the
crystal. She refuses to hand over the power coin and surrender he
rself to her old leader Zordon
for judgement so she leaps at the Megazord but is slapped
so hard that the green witch flies into orbit and
freezes in the vacuum of space. Afterwards the Power Rangers are praised by
Angel Grove as heroes and return to their normal teenage lives. Kimberley's found her new friends with the
rangers and although it isn’t said Sam seems to
know that the Red Ranger’s his son. In a mid-credits scene we're shown that a
student named Tommy has been stuffed in a locker but
seems to
have found the green power coin. And the movie ends... :D
