clicking over to 6:33 we're finding some breaking news now once again as mentioned part of 84 East in Ashford is shut down right now because of that crash involving two tractor trailers two tractor trailers that are submerged in a nearby Pond what a mess Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Olivia Schuler though joins us right live off the exit on 84 East pound right exit 72 uh Olivia what what's going on there what's the latest now Nicole I just spoke again to Connecticut State Police they tell u
s that they don't have an update at this time but what we do know is that there are serious injuries reported from this crash involving two tractor trailers and at least one person was taken to an area hospital by an ambulance take a look at this picture now that it's daylight you can get a better picture of it you can see that there's a tractor trailer with its hazards on it's actually submerged in water and just past that big rig there's another one lying in Mory Pond you can see the wheels ar
e actually on top there which means that that tractor trailer may be flipped upside down now right now I 84 East between exit 72 and 73 is shut down as police investigate and Crews get the tractor trailer out of the water cars traveling are being rerouted to local roads so if you're traveling on I 84 East you're getting detoured by getting off at exit 72 and then back on past the accident now this is the closest we're able to get to the accident State Police tell us that the accident reconstruct
ion team as well as the Connecticut state police truck Squad and the Connecticut State Police dive team responded to this wreck just before 2:00 this morning morning we're still working to find out how this accident happened and an exact number of people injured now if you are commuting this morning in the area of I 84 East between those exits of 72 and 73 you are going to want to avoid the area and find an alternate route we are standing right now on the Ashford Union Town Line and cars are bei
