I went all the way to Akureyri which was next to my departure point. I was supposed to get covid tested there today (Friday) at noon. But my plane landed 30 minutes too late so I couldn't get tested today... So I decided to rent another car and do a return trip to Reykjavik so I can get tested tomorrow. And come back straight after to go to my starting point and try to start on Sunday morning from Husavik. That will be tough, I don't know if it will still be possible to make it... That will leav
e me with only 11 days with zero margins to succeed in crossing Iceland. Alright, it is time to say goodbye to the car with which I just drove 800km of the return trip to Reykjavik. And now I need to go hitchike toward my starting point in Husavik. There is still 200km of road and it's 6pm so I might be too optimistic but let's see how it goes. Alright, let's go! There aren't many cars so it won't be easy. I need to get lucky. I finally arrived in Husavik. I found a car in 10 minutes. Very nice
trip with 2 people from Iceland who taught me lots of things and brought me here to Husavik. The day has come, I am in Husavik, I can't get closer to the sea. I go in that direction towards the Atlantic ocean. Let's go! That is it, this is my first lunch break. If we can call it this way... I just finished the first 30km Finally! After more than 12h of walk, I think, I can see today's target the Myvtan lake Feels nice. I still have 6km to go so I am not there yet, and I really feel pain so it wi
ll be tough But I am happy to finally see the objective Finally! I arrived at the camp tonight. I don't know where I'll sleep but ... I just heard that delightful sound of water Look at this! Some water! Now I am going to cross I think it will be cold but it is not too long... It's cold It's cold The departure of day number 4, let's go! Today I might not find any water... Let's see how we manage. Alone in the world! An Italian guy, on a bike. He left Reyjkyavik, went all the way east on the nati
onal road, and now he cross via the center. On a bike! We stopped. It feels good to talk to someone else... That's it, my new friend, Pierro, just left again, I feel like it is the fourth time we say goodbye, but this time it is for good, I won't catch up to him again. We just spent some time together, he gave me a bit of food, we talked for a bit, it was really nice to be able to discuss with someone in the middle of nowhere! It feels refreshing. It is really tough... I am 5km for my daily targ
et, It feels cold, it's already 8:30, 9pm I am exhausted... And I still have to cross a river, which will be freezing... And it is too deep for me to cross with my shoes... Alright, here we go... took my shoes off, I am cold, it hurts my feet... but I need to cross... Let's try. This is not the most glamorous shot, but it is part of the adventure. Pffff, it never stops! My target is here, it is the end of the day. But in between, there is still a ... river to cross! It is very wide and I think I
'll have to remove my shoes, again... It is over 9pm now, I am cold but since I see my objective, it makes it easier. Done. Now I just have to put my shoe back on. It had to happen at some point, it started to rain Not too much so far, but I put on all of my waterproof equipment From the hands to the heads, to the foot, the backpack, etc. I think I was never that happy in my life to find a bridge! I love bridges! It's awesome. That? It's me when I figure out I only have 127km left and 3 days! Th
e small victories, make me happy! Is that it? It seems today will be more difficult... Wow, it is nice when the sun shows up... Oh wow! This seems unreal! It feels like a reward! it is so magnificent... Alright, one more river to cross... It's been a while... Let's remove the shoes, let's go. Come on, we're almost there. it is getting deep... The crossing is done, I hope there won't be too many more, otherwise, it will be long. We finally can see the glacier behind which we can see the sea, the
ocean. It's that way! Shiit....This time it went very high! This one has a fast flow... So this time I remove even the pants! Let's hope it will be enough... I really don't wanna go! Alright, the crossing is done, this part was okay, But the one with the flow that we could see earlier, I am glad I removed my pants as it went all the way to my boxers... I didn't film because there was a lot of flow and I almost fall and falling here is not great because I have all my stuff with me and it starts t
o rain so I have to warm up very quickly... Because the water is freezing cold! A new type of environment, that I didn't expect, a forest! This is the trek I just did in the past 1.5 days. Landmannalaugar is here, I slept here and now we are here They seem to say it is a 4-day trek... I don't know how people take that long but hey that is how it is... And now we are going to see if I can make it there today. It would be amazing if I could. This way tomorrow I'll just have to climb down to the se
a. Alright, let's go conquest the last obstacle, the pass between the glaciers! So that tomorrow I just have to go down and find a way to reach the sea. But now I have a lot of ascending so it will be very hard physically but I hope I can get there a bit earlier than usual so I could rest a bit, which I could really benefit from! We just started to climb, I started from there at the bottom, it is only the beginning, I just walked for like 30 minutes, but with the bag, it is really hard! But at l
east the landscapes are worth it I just hope the clouds are going to disappear, otherwise, I won't see much up there... Let's keep going! It is quite narrow... And if you fall... I'd rather not think about it! We can see the glacier on the right, and the one on the left, So I think we are going right in the middle, there. And behind there should be the ocean. Alright, after setting camp yesterday, on the end of the pass between the two glaciers, (I didn't know it was the end) we couldn't see muc
h. But this morning, we finally see the sea, the destination, the ocean actually, So in 5 to 6 hours of walking, I should reach it And I will be done! And this will feel so good! This beach is so long, it is never-ending... But I start to hear waves, so we are getting closer! That is it, we are there, I did it! We arrived! The ocean! I have one last stupid idea... This is my last stupid idea!
