WATCH: Biden on why U.S. needs 'the best education system in the world' | 2024 State of the Union

In his State of the Union address March 7, President Joe Biden highlighted his investments in education. " To remain the strongest economy in the world, we need to have the best education system in the world," he said. That includes reducing student loan debt, of which he has canceled $138 billion over the last three years. He also pointed to prioritizing giving children access to high-quality preschool, expanding summer learning and tutoring, giving high school students hands-on workforce experience and making college more affordable. "While we're at it," he said, "I want to give public school teachers a raise."
