Filmfare

It feels lovely. It feels very starry, fun and like I said, very wholesome because everyone comes together and that doesn't happen very often. It feels amazing. I'm very excited to see all the performances. And, you know, it's a celebration of art and artists. So, it's always good to be here. It's wonderful. It's new because this time we're in Ahmedabad. That's the there's a new thing about the awards. It feels great. Of course. Last year, it was a great year for Badhaai Do. My director, Harsh i
s here, who won the Best Film Critics’. I won the Best Actor Popular. So Filmfare, I think there's been a great association with Filmfare over a very long period, so always happy to be at the Filmfare. Well, it feels really nice. This is my first time at Filmfare. So, really excited and really looking forward for it. Obviously, I feel extremely lucky, blessed to be invited for Filmfare again. Especially this time when it's happening outside of Mumbai. And it's because of Filmfare that I've had
a chance to even visit Ahmedabad. I think a big shout out to the Gujarat Tourism. Well, it's the 69th Filmfare Award, but I think I’m the most happiest that it's happening in Gujarat. The city. It's different for all of us, and I hope it's one of the many which is in the coming future. Great. Honoured and very happy to be here. I've only seen it on TV before, so I'm very happy that I'm finally here to watch it in person, live and I’m rooting for everyone who is nominated. I think my favourite Fi
lmfare memory would have to be my first Filmfare Award ever. It would be Highway. For Highway, I won Best Actress Critics’. Yeah, that was a very memorable year because it's the first. Earliest. I think the earliest doesn't matter. This one's now. This one that I had right now with Lolo on stage is my favourite memory. Of course, I think we've grown up watching Filmfare, seeing so many icons win awards, so many of my family members win awards. And of course, then, of course, it became a dream t
hat, you know, I should also win a Filmfare Award. And I think I was lucky and fortunate to win quite a few. So, yes, I think there's some beautiful memories. You know, before I even joined the film industry, the Filmfare Award was one thing that we looked up to. And then when I first started getting there, it used to be in the Shanmukhananda Hall. And then, of course, after that, it had many, many avatars. And I feel, why only Gujarat? It should go all over India. We should be having it everyw
here in the sense that we do but we do only regional awards in the South, for instance, and in Bengal. But I think the main Filmfare should happen everywhere. And for me, what is really, really exciting is that this is my 50th year in the film industry and in my 50th year to be nominated for 2 films... I really thank my stars for it. And I'd like to thank both the directors because of whom I'm standing here today. My first nomination and my first win of Best Actress Critics’. And I'm nominated a
gain today for the Best Actress Critics’. So, I’m quite excited. Filmfare memory? I always loved Filmfare, but I think when Lata Ji was given one for Didi Tera Devar Deewana. And Sholay was given one on completing its 50th year. So I have a lot of good memories of Filmfare. I would say that it's from a film called 15 Park Avenue. Not many seem to have seen it, but it's written by Aparna Sen. And I think that person is close to the kind of person I am in real life. Called Sadhana in the film Gold
fish, for which I'm here as a nominee for the Critics’ Award. And this film is the closest to my heart. Every single character I have played, if it wasn't close to my heart, I would not have done it. Now Harsh is here so I would say Badhaai Do. No but being of course, definitely one of them. Shardul. But so many. You know, you give your sweat and blood to all of them. And all of them are very special.
