(people chattering) (gentle music) - [Malik] In Cabrini-Green, it don't matter how old you are, how much money you got, how big or tall, or small. - What do you call three trees? - What? - A trio. (Malik laughs) (school bell ringing) - You ever think about what it would be like outside of here? - Why? This is where we from. - Such a big world out there. So much I wanna do. - You're never too little. Set your mind to it, you can do it. - I'm putting my mind to some McDonald's right now and I don'
t see it on my plate. (woman laughs) Me and Eric, we've done everything together since we were born. - You got dreams? - Sometimes. - You ever had a dream that felt so real, you thought you was awake? (lively music) - You know, we always want it better. That's why we came here. - Now how am I supposed to keep you safe? - [Man] With everything that's been going on, they're moving out. Malik didn't tell you? - You're just mad 'cause I'm leaving. - You're not a baby anymore. You're grown now, and y
ou know right from wrong. - [Malik] This is what I know: A place is the people. - [Eric] Hey! - [Malik] My name's Malik! - [Eric] And my name's Eric! And don't you forget it! - [Both] Hey! Oh! (people chattering)

@codedxxx

Jurnee is old enough to play a parent now. I’m officially a dinosaur.

@ConnorLipke

"you ever had a dream so big you thought you were awake?" This line, the color grading, the music and the entire trailer as a whole gave me Beasts of the Southern Wild vibes. I'm so excited for this film now.

@SMP2390

I like how they're showing black kids can be just that kids. Because, alot of shows movies and on the news they make it like black are just rowdy grown folks out the gate

@LPSLuvTetu99

Oh man, I can already tell this is gonna kick my ass

@sandygreen2707

The film seems so important! Yes little black boys too have dreams and innocence! It’s important that films show them having that!

@stryfetc1471

80's baby, from the southside of Chicago, had family in Cabrini, but I lived in the Robert Taylors!...my grandma was in 5100 State, then my my mom moved us to 5323 South Federal in 87. This is a film I HAVE to see, because I was that kid who felt like that.🙏🏿

@Johnged15

It feels like a film everyone probably should watch but probably few will actually do it.

@ndo533

Need more films on blk male friendships and the nuance that comes with it

@JamesLawner

This looks and feels like an indie movie worth a damn! 😭

@adamsinger4591

ive already seen the movie! my girlfriend has a big role and i was able to attend the chicago film festival, even though she was unable to go due to the strike! we had a big party beforehand to celebrate! this movie was rated a 91% and I’d definitely say that’s an accurate score! so excited to see it (again), with her, when it’s released in mid April 💗

@john82keys

Im shocked but so glad this is rated PG. I don’t have to worry about gross scenes or excessive bad language. It’s rare to find any drama post 2010 that’s rated PG, even films with a young cast.

@terryguerra1010

I really don't wanna cry. I've cried enough already this year.

@flowerllama2973

I hope a lot of people see this one

@MrColdwilliam

Gives me the vibes that Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete gave.

@thelostfindsaway

You already know this is going to be gold just by watching this trailer.

@ULTRXBLXCK

I'm going to be patiently waiting for an opportunity to see this one.

@thegazetteyt

Movies showcasing the optimism and wonder of Black youth will always get my heart.

@chination1796

I used to live in a Cabrini Green high rise building glad i made it out of there

@MrBsArcade

I will be there, especially growing up in my town I could relate to the boys and their story from what I've got to witness in the trailer. Great job!

@mattdick6167

This movie seems like when you taking an edible and remember your childhood and that one kid that moved away
