Excuse me, sir. How are you doing today? I'm doing good, thank you. How are you? Good, good. We're just offering people an instant free concert in their house today as part of a video we're making. No, thank you. I don't think so. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a private concert in your home? My friend Guitaro and I are about to offer this stranger that private concert. We'll see what they say. Well, they didn't say anything. We make these videos as we like to connect with
people through music and sort of encourage people to open up their doors. Reggie gave me this line to drive: We're early. I'm so busy right now. Let's brainstorm if you work another line. Let me see here... “I have your package”. How you doin’? Cat likes to walk, huh? Oh. Next that we're going to see is a guy taking this goldfish for a walk. (Ringbell) (Knocking) Man, that camera angle is garbage. You like that? I liked that a lot. (Knocking again) - What? - What? - Hey, I'm sorry I'm late. Well
, I'm... My name's Rob Landes, and I'm offering people instant instant free concerts in their house as part of a video project I'm making. And I'm curious if you'd like to have some music in your home this afternoon. If you had been here 5 minutes ago, it would have been perfect. Would you mind if we came back maybe around 5 or 5:30? - No. - No. - Ok. Why wasn't he home? Maybe my black eyes scared him off. Yes, this one, which I got falling out of bed. I wish I could tell you that I got it fight
ing a bear or rescuing a young child. But I simply had a bad dream and flung myself out of bed, hitting my head on the nightstand. Whether or not it was my black eye or maybe something else, we were having no luck in this neighborhood. So we decided to head down the road to where we met the wonderful Miss Olivia in our last video, and her neighbour, Christine Wade. Well, it's a pleasure. My name is Rob. - Nice to meet you I’m Christine. - Nice to meet you I’m Christine. - Christine. Nice to meet
you Christine, great!. Could probably put something on the calendar. Hello! - Hello. - Hello. -Hey, how are you? We were expecting you yesterday. Oh, yeah you’re the... We couldn't make it. Are you guys free tonight? We’re right here. Right now?. Let's do it! Well, I'm sorry we missed our performance yesterday. How are you, Christine? - Doing well. - Doing well. - Good. Do you know Olivia across the street? We watch her YouTube. Oh, did you? Olivia, yes. I actually originally was from Taiwan,
and I went to a IU, Indiana University, and that's where we met. So do you miss Taiwan? I do, actually. And because I still have... family members, sisters and their family, Both my parents passed away then, so we still plan on visiting. Yeah, well, tell your family I said: Have you eaten yet? Wa? Have you eaten yet? “Have you eaten yet?” Yeah. Not yet. That's good. (Laughs) - Hello, I’m Scott. - Hello, I’m Scott. - Scott, I’m Rob. - Lovely, hi nice to meet you. - Lovely, hi nice to meet you. -
I'm Reggie. Reggie. - Nice to meet you Scott. - Nice to meet you Scott. - Nice to meet you. - Nice to meet you Scott. - Welcome to out home. Have you picked up any other languages besides Mandarin? No, but I speak at a school. I teach at a school where... It's high school, Every person there has just arrived in America, - of 45 countries at my school. - of 45 countries at my school. - Wow. So it's an international school? Yeah, but it's international in the sense that it's: refugees or people
who had to leave their country not because they wanted to, because it was like leave or die, and... Like Afghan, I was just now with kids from Afghanistan before I came here. How was that? I was helping them prepare for coach scholarships. - It must be fulfilling. - It must be fulfilling. - Yeah, yeah. Christine actually had a song in mind, the song comes from Fiddler on the Roof. It's “Sunrise, Sunset”. And she decided that the main theme of the company should be “Fiddler on the Moove”. - Fidd
ler on the Move? - Fiddler on the Move? - Yes. Oh, that's genius. Oh, I love that. The song was played at our wedding. Oh, wow. Yeah, that's... ‘Cause her dad came over from Taiwan, and it was really, really sad for him, because she just came for college. The plan was get your education and go back, and then she had a job. Will not come back. Wow. So that was sad for him. He was crying at the wedding and... My dad says to sing the song. That's I don't know if you can do that, but if not, I can.
We’ll see, I can definitely make an attempt for it, because I am familiar with that one. I was actually the Fiddler on the Roof when I was 15 years old in my School musical. So I learned all the music for that, yeah. My mother passed away April 28th is two years now, so now I remind our son, Ben, about this day. And then he wrote a really touching reflection in tribute to my mother. And he actually drew that picture of my mother, too. So he use this photo and created a memorial service here. H
e even wrote some lines that touched me, too. - Can I read him out loud? - Can I read him out loud? - Sure. “If you look at her face, you will see her children. If you look at the women and mothers her children become, you will see that she is not gone”. Beautiful. Well, with that, we might be ready for our first song. 1, 2, 3, 4. ♫ ♫ When the night, has come ♫ ♫ And the land is dark ♫ ♫ And the moon is the only light we'll see ♫ ♫ I won't cry, I won't cry ♫ ♫ No I won't shed a tear ♫ ♫ Just as
long as you stand ♫ ♫ Stand by me ♫ ♫ And darlin', darlin', stand by me ♫ ♫ Oh, stand by me ♫ ♫ Oh, stand...♫ ♫ Stand by me, stand by me ♫ ♫ [Violin Solo] ♫ ♫ Oh, stand by me. ♫ ♫ Oh, stand by me. ♫ ♫ Oh, stand...♫ ♫ Stand by me, stand by me ♫ ♫ Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me ♫ ♫ Oh, stand by me ♫ ♫ Oh, stand now, ♫ ♫ Stand by me. ♫ ♫ Stand by me. ♫ (Applause) Thank you! Thank you so much. - Thank you, thank you. - Thank you, thank you. - Such a royal treat. All right, ladies
and gentlemen, I'm going to slide over there. Slide to the left. Well, my left, your right. - Your right. - Side to the left. I was a college student at Indiana University, and I went to Chinese Moon Festival event. There's like, 300 Chinese people, and me. And, and I saw a crowd of people gathering around a pavilion, and they were up on bleachers and everybody was looking. And I heard a beautiful, like, ancient Chinese instrument. And I went over and climbed up the back of the back of the bleac
hers. And I looked and there was a girl sitting there playing. Guess what, it was her. - Wow. - Alright. Yeah. And that's yeah, genius, inspirational, - Amazing. - Amazing. - turning points moments. Changed your life. Didn't? Her instrument, the one I just told you about, is right around the corner in that room. Wait, It's his, their concert now. Ok? Maybe for now, let's do some “Sunrise, Sunset” - Yeah. - Sure. Maybe that'll put you in a mood to, you know, revisit those memories when you met y
our husband and, bring out this. These were more like in memory of her father. No, actually, it kind of goes full circle with that music, that that piece. Because it was in our wedding. Uhm, my dad came, but my mother's day where she at, and so I missed her that she wasn't able to come to my wedding. And... And then two days ago, that was her... passing anniversary day. And actually, this outfit belonged to my mother. When she was... So I felt her presence. And when I thought about this song, it
always kind of bring me back to where I was as a child with her. And then my my father gave me away. And because that song, I felt like... it's it's human life cycle. Sunrise, Sunset. And then... It means a lot to me. - So I'm... - So I'm... - Beautiful. - I’m glad that you can play that. - Beautiful. ♫ Maybe down a little bit. ♫ [Violin Playing - Sunrise, Sunset] ♫ Than you Rob. Thank you, thank you. Wow. Thank you. You're welcome. You know the lyrics out in this piece. I'd love you to tell me
about it. It really is about family relationship, I think, particularly if you have children, you know... What happened to, the little girl I used to raise. Now she's grown, she's gone. So it really is a human, like, life cycle, just like a season change. Yes, we miss our deceased parents, but they knew that... we would carry on their dreams. In the midst of that, I know they were in our heart to. So, yes, the wedding scene kind of, went through my mind. I remember my father... flew from Taiwa
n to come to our wedding, and he was very sad because that was his little girl, just like in the movie. The little girl...went far away. Our son in his little tribute to my mother. He wrote that to, then my mother, because... He wrote that to, then my mother, because... he knew Grandma. Well, that's my maiden name from childhood. But then she got sick, so his memory was always that wonderful kind Grandma, while he was young. So to him, he said, well you are not gone, you're in my thoughts. You w
ere in the wind, in the trees that see you every day. So I felt that way too, that they're not gone. We missed their presence, but they're here in this particular music you’ve played so beautifuly. I really...liked that. One of the reasons I know it so well is because my mom used to sing it at the piano when she played. I have six brothers and sisters and she would sing to us and we would play together. Grew up in a musical family, so. She was thniking about too, She was thinking, you children o
ne day leave her. Yeah, but now she lives across the street from me, so she can't be too far away. That's true. And guess, and guess who is even closer than that? The son you are expecting. We are expecting a boy in September. Oh, well, congratulations. Thank you. Another sunrise. - Literally. - Literally. This son will rise taller than you bro. He will be. He will be. The whole thing... Alright. I say “Derby”. Derby! Christine and Scott were complete strangers to me before this moment, And I
would have paid little attention to them in line at the grocery store. But hearing their story and playing for them has bonded us forever and left me with a memory that I will never forget. I hope to see them again and to show them the picture of the son I am yet to meet. “Another sunrise”, as Scott would say, sunrise, sunset, swiftly flow the days. Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers, blossoming even as we gaze.

@guitaro5000

Thanks, Rob, for having me play guitar for you! At first I was really unsure how it would go. Like , what if no one lets us in? Even if they do, what if we don't have the right song? But I'm glad we stuck with it. You played that violin so beautifully, and none of us could hold back our tears! In the end we made new friends, new memories, and at some point, we should do it again!

@ihateaaronanderson

Holy hell Rob... It sounds hyperbolic, but I'm not afraid to say this is the most artistic thing I've ever seen on Youtube. The intelligence of Christine to somehow quickly and succinctly tell her life story, and you/editing to frame that story... Just amazing. Art meets documentary. I cried buckets. Just can't tell you how much this story moved me, fantastic work!!

@Locationary

Amazing stuff guys, you really found a nice humble couple to perform for. We need more people like them in this world.

@gnatural

I understand the rejections, a private concert in the home can seem like a means to rob someone lol

@the-real-CairnsByTheSea

That was a beautiful story along with your heartfelt music.

@NymphieJP

This reminds me of the guy who accidentally messaged someone and they ended up having thanksgiving together and they do it every year now. Super cute. Make sure you don't lose them, they're such a loving family!

@elfmatw

Rob and Reggie. I understand how angsty and awkward it might feel walking up to a complete strangers front door and hoping for them to welcome you, complete strangers as well, into their homes. But wow, these encounters have been some of the most beautiful performances I've ever witnessed and it was hard not to shed a tear while listening to both your music and to their stories. Beautiful people meet beautiful people. Keep spreading your joy and music, both of you, it truly changes lives. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us.

@sirstinkmcwhiffington7039

This is by far the most heartwarming style of video you do. I love your regular content and omegle vids but to see an actual connection and emotional validity with the lives of seemingly random people in a genuine setting is truly great. Please continue this style of content. I can't share it enough with my loved ones.

@lachanfallNr35

''we miss their presence but they're not gone'', this hit me right in the middle of my heart. I'm sobbing and so glad I found this video. What a beautiful experience you gave this cute couple! I love this so much<3

@phiteonn3541

nothing but NOTHING gets more magical than that. Damn you Rob Landes, you actually bought tears to my eyes

@GLENNACHEEMS

I don't think I've cried this hard at a YouTube video in a long time. Your beautiful music coupled with this beautiful family was just so much to handle. Thank you for bringing them such joy and celebrating life, as well as honoring their deceased, it is truly a blessing to witness.

@thomharris7407

The world needs more soulful, peaceful and philanthropic endeavors such as this. I get that this generates revenue for the channel, but that is awesome! If everyone can earn income by allowing people to feel and experience life through music the way this lovely couple did in this video we would, I suspect, see much less harm, hate and war in our world. Thanks for the content. I appreciate your efforts.

@88jameson88

That woman was dropping serious knowledge.

@dsouther11

You make connections in places you don’t even know. Almost two years ago I messaged you wanting advice on where to get started, you gave some very helpful guidance. Now I’ve been playing for nearly two years with a wonderful teacher and my 5yo daughter is taking lessons as well. My 2yo daughter shows a lot of interest as well. This video was touching and the narrative of sunrise sunset was just as beautiful as hearing it played. It really had my mind going from past family memories to present and even thinking of things to come. I love these videos of yours, they are a bit more special than the Omegle ones (those are fun too). I know these take a lot more work but the connections are worth it. Thanks for it all!

@iamanay

Silence is the highest level of applause for an artist, and you absolutely deserve it👍

@mmills8989

It was great to hear more of Reggie’s voice. He sometimes sings backup for the people on his channel, but this was wonderful to hear him perform (vocally) on his own!

@RebeenSarbast

OMG The heck was that, Rob? What a beautiful family, and what a beautiful narrative they gave; I cried through the whole video. Thanks again, Rob, and best wishes on the arrival of your little bundle of joy; may he bring you nothing but joy.

@Mabus_Incarnate

Just discovered you guys, Frank Tedesco, Marcus Veltri, Billy Wilkins, love what you guys do and all the joy you bring to people's lives. You create moments that people will never forget.

@russelladams9147

Beautiful - thank you for sharing. The memorial poem Christine recited was tearful and poignant beyond words. As a person of similar age I was taken aback by the obvious 'quiet' love that Christine and her husband displayed simply by sitting together. Also, the work that her husband does with international 'refugees' seems 100x more meaningful than much of what I do in the teaching world at a high school. My first thought was, where can I find that career? The sense of purpose must be overwhelming, i.e., everything that teaching is supposed to be about. Also, 'Sunrise Sunset'...just wow. I really hope people viewing this special video are able to see the emotion of not only seeing good humans coming together but in the power of this musical presentation. Clear proof of what media do in bringing us joy and a sense of wonder. Thank you. (Extraordinary playing)>

@celinescrappassion2184

i cried during this beautiful fiddler on the roof song... This was so beautiful! I love both these two guys, they are wonderful humans!
