- Hey babe, should we get rid of this paint? - Is that the paint from the baby nursery? - And, our baby's now 13. - And, we've moved, and we no longer have a room with that color. - But, we should hang on to it. - I mean, you never know. - Just feels better to have it. - I love having it. - Don't you love that new phone feeling? - What are you gonna do with your old phone? - Keep it, obviously. - Obviously. - You never know when you're gonna need an old phone. - Or six! - What if one day we need
that flip-phone? - You never know when you're gonna need an old phone. - We should keep 'em all, forever. - Just feels better to have it. (Penn whistles mindlessly) - Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's a good box. - Should we keep it? - You have to keep a good box. - Yeah. You never know. - You never know when you're gonna need a good box. - Yeah, exactly, to put things in stuff. - You gotta put things in stuff, and then stuff in the things. - Yeah, I know our son quit lacrosse five years ago, but we can
't get rid of this. Do you know how expensive it was? - What if DVDs come back? Do you know how much I paid for this DVD player? (wipes off dusty DVD player) It's Ultra HD. - It would cost me so much money to replace this bike, if I ever wanted to train for a triathlon again, which I would never want to do, and it sounds terrible, but just in case. - Just in case. - Keeping it! - Just in case. - Honey, why do we have all of this stuff from the security system that we used at our old house? - The
company didn't want it back. - Oh yeah, 'cause the technology's like super outdated? - But, we should totally keep it. - Oh, 100%, We should keep it. I mean, security. - It makes me feel safer, just knowing we have it, in a box, on the shelf, in our garage. - I'm not throwing away any of these old shoes. - Those are your lawn shoes. - Obviously, every dad keeps his old shoes to mow the lawn. - No matter how bad they smell. - Yeah, I'll just throw 'em in my pile, with my mulch shoes, and my mud
shoes. - You never know when you need old shoes. - Hey, do you know what this charger is for? - Huh? No, but we should totally keep it. - Yeah, I'll just keep it here with my boxes of other cords. - Or, you can put it with all these cords. - You never know. - One day you may need this little dingle-dongle cable. (metals tools clatter) Wow, that's a lot of Allen wrenches. - Yep. From every IKEA thing ever. - But, you never throw them away? - Yeah, well, you never know when you might need 15 ident
ical Allen wrenches. - What if everyone in our neighborhood needs to borrow an Allen wrench? - And, these end up saving the whole city? - Better keep 'em, you never know. - So, we got these when our kids were infants. - To keep in the diaper bag. - Should we toss 'em? - I know iPhones are far better quality, but what if they become self-aware? - And AI takes over the world? - We could vlog our last days on Earth with those cameras. - Knock, knock. - Who's there? - Justin. - Justin who? - Just in
case. - Yes! So, I just said, I said, "Hey Penn, you should put your shoes, like, outside," AKA the trash. And, he said? - I know I never use 'em, but I what if I need them at some point. (laughs) - [Kim] (laughs) But, you don't. - But these, you bought these for me. These were a really nice present. - [Kim] They're sentimental shoes? - You called them driving shoes. I don't know what that is. (Kim laughed) What's a driving shoe? Is it 'cause they have? - No, they're, like, a cute loafer. But,
you can throw those away, honey. They're disgusted. - They're so busted. I'm not worn these in three years. Why can't I throw them away? - [Kim] Throw. - But, they're leather. - Throw them, like, you can't even, honestly, you can't even donate them. What about those? - [Penn] These? - [Kim] Yeah. - [Penn] What if we go hiking? - [Kim] Well, what about those? - [Penn] Well, I won "The Amazing Race" in those. - Aw, I kept my Amazing Race sneakers, too. - [Penn] That's the only reason I kept those.
- I have both sets, from, like, the first time we went, and then the second time, I have both those sets of sneakers. - You said to bring cords, so I brought all the cords I have. Do you even know, like, what does that even connect to? What? - [Kim] That's, like, for a microphone. Are you doing some karaoke at your house? - Yeah - That's an XLR. Oh, that's useful. Can I have that if you don't want it? - (laughs) Yeah. - No. No, so then we have it? - I have my cords, let's do this. - This is a G
oPro housing from, like, 1995. - [Kim] Are we about to see Penn throw away something? - Well, I, listen, I wanna throw these things away, but I swear to God, as soon as I throw them away, we'll be shooting a video, and we'll be like, "we need something where we put a fan around our neck," and then we did! Right? - Yes, I bought that. - [Penn] And so, we had to buy another one. - This might be a hoarder situation, might be more a TLC situation. (Kim laughs) - This microphone. - [Kim] Oh, that's,
oh, we need a microphone. - Honey, feel how light it is? It's not a good mic. - Honey, but I think, I feel like. - [Red Head] It's a prop, mic. - [Kim] It's a prop mic. - It's a room for ants. - Thank you for coming to our attic clean-out. We are obviously in need of some professional help. What are you guys hanging on to that make no sense? You never need a box until you have just dropped all of your boxes at the recycling center

@ChadLawson3

My wife came over while I was watching this. She made a deep sigh and just started rubbing my back in a soothing manner. When Kim asked what we (the viewer) are holding onto, I said “Um. Most of the basement?” My wife patted my shoulder and walked away.

@Jenn12141983

I literally just threw out a box full of cables and chargers that I had no clue what they were for and were sitting in the closet for years…it felt so wrong 😂

@DragonsRUs1414

Thank you two for always being wholesome. It's really cathartic to know other humans do ridiculous human things too. If everyone just tried a little bit harder to realize we're all broken and kinda silly, day to day life would be a little less filled with underlying smouldering pointless anger.

@brentwhittington7350

Not going to lie, when they were talking about charger cords, the Where Have All The Chargers Gone song popped RIGHT into my head.

@hemaccabe4292

Tape the allen wrench to an interior location on the piece of furniture it came with so if you need to do something to that piece of furniture later, like tighten up all the loose joints, it's available.

@blugreen123

The good box struggle is real! I got rid of a nice one recently, and needed it a few days later. 😂

@celticbabs3105

I just cleaned out the top shelf of a closet in my office that had all these boxes of computer supplies (my husband builds pcs) since we got married 21 yrs ago. I decided to take ownership of that shelf cuz I needed it for everyday items that we use... like toilet paper, paper towels...etc. I took down all those boxes. EVERY SINGLE BOX WAS EMPTY INSIDE. We held onto EMPTY BOXES for 20 yrs!!!!! I was so pissed!

@TheCraftyOrganizer

As a professional organizer - I have to say this is the BEST video I've EVER seen! So funny and relatable. Thank you! 🥰

@katiemathews128

I just started decluttering, and I am amazed at all the things I thought I should hold onto “just in case!” 🤣 It’s time to let those things go!

@MrsParksIsInTheHouse

😂😂😂 Hey - Hang onto that FLIP PHONE! Comes in super handy in the event you ever need to “take” a teenager’s iPhone as a “consequence”, but yet still want to be able to reach them… it’s MAGICAL how quickly they turn around a bad attitude!! 😂❤

@mizfofo8297

Next Trick or Treat everyone's getting an Allen Wrench, LOL! Why DO we keep so many? This whole video was ON POINT! Thanks for the laugh, Holderness Fam!

@karenogush5622

My husband and I were watching this a few hours ago, laughing so hard it was hard to breathe! Then he turned to me and said, "How do you feel seeing our lives parodied in a You Tube Video 🤣😳🤣 It took us moving across the country to finally get rid of a lot of our "just in case" stuff. Finding out that cross country movers charge by the pound got us tossing, selling, and donating things right and left!!!

@trinaq

"Knock Knock!" "Who's there?" "Justin!" "Justin Who?" "Just in Case!" "... Yes!" I love this entire exchange! 😹

@duvalfamily4605

I don't know if I feel heard or attacked! 🤣 Love your videos, and this one hits really close to home!

@aarongillett3079

I can relate to keeping the boxes the most. "That's a good box!"

@shannonrolfes5171

I grew up with "That's a good box." It pains me to let one go! And bows for wrapping gifts! They're expensive! A little tape and it will stick to that package for the 5 minutes it needs to!

@naturalnashuan

We were so happy that my husband actually knows someone who is moving and could use all of the bubble wrap we've hoarded

@WaiferThyme

I had to seriously downsize last year when i moved i to a studio apartment in a assisted living facility. I was a bit overwhelmed at first but then decided to do the Japanese sorting plan. Every item got 15 seconds. Did it spark joy? Yes. Keep. No? Can it be donated? Yes? Box. No? Trash/recycle. It was amazing! 50 years of stuff was downsized to 3 bins in 3 days! It was great!

@relaunchinglife

When my husband & I split after 27 years, he moved to another country so he took very little with him. I was left cleaning out almost 3 decades of a home that had also raised 3 kids so there was a lot! Def including tons of electronics, cables & cords - not knowing what any of it was for! I was constantly sending him photos asking "what is this? Do we need it? Should I keep it?" he was a good sport & honestly knew what almost everything was! My biggest concern at the time was trying to sell items & so I wanted to make sure I kept every cord just in case! Why do men buy so many electronics (which to me is anything metal, black & has an on switch) that never gets used or used once?! My shoes? Now I needed those silver patent leather heels for that one event 10 years ago, they'll be back in style, don't be silly.
