We're back and our apartments work! - Rent to Riches (Part 14)

Huge welcome back to Rent to Riches. It has been so long since the last part. Literally been one month since we last played this. Okay, here's what's happened. If you don't remember, the last two parts were extremely buggy. So many things were just not working. Our apartments were bugged. We weren't getting rent for at least two of the buildings. Some of our tenants just didn't exist really. We couldn't move them out because their lease said zero days, even though they were still there. Every ti

me we traveled somewhere, none of our buildings appeared in this list. Many, many bugs. Since then, there's been a game update that fixed the saving bug that we had. So we don't have a problem saving. However, I still had a bunch of issues. So I spent so much time tinkering. I've been in the lab, guys. What I did, and this may present some weird issues popping up in the Let's Play. So I want to point it out now. You can skip forward this intro if you don't care. But basically, I sold every singl

e one of my buildings. I sent them all back to residential. At that point, Tomarang World kind of corrupted and I couldn't even open it in the map thing. So then I disabled For Rent from my game, reloaded the save without For Rent in it so the world just didn't exist. Then you re-enable the pack. So basically recreates the world fresh. And I placed all the lots back in, purchased them, oh no, turned them back into rentals, purchased them again. And that's where we're at now. Okay, so basically i

t should be more or less a clean slate in all of the buildings that we own. They're all replaced, you know, the reset of brand new residentials. And it so far is working. It's taking me a long time. So one other thing to point out, we only have three buildings right now. I did not rebuy this building that we're living in because a lot of people were just seeming to think that that would cause more issues owning the building we live in. So I decided let's just not own that. I'm just going to forg

et about it. We don't have the money from it. But to be honest, I think we should be making a lot of money from our apartments. Which right now, as you can see, no one lives in any of them. So I'm going to get people in. I'm going to set them all as a one day lease. So hopefully we can like adjust the rent after a day. That's my plan. Okay, so I filled all the apartments now with as much money as I can get. We're at 2,600 a day. So hopefully that all goes well because we should be able to make g

ood money. If it all works. And hopefully we'll get the events coming back again now too. So the other thing that we've got, oh, break a unit rule. Wait, how do I even set a rule somewhere I live? I didn't even figure that one out. Because I would like to have rules set here. I think I have to have someone else own the building I live in to even be able to do that, right? Okay, you know what? ewelry or collect crystals and metals to level up and unlock more jewelry. Wait, how did I get the skill? Just by digging? Is that just how you get the skill these days? Let me see, where is the skill? Here it is. While every sim may appreciate a shiny gem, those with the gemology skill learn to create their own gem-based creations for wearing, gifting, or turning a little profit. I like the profit. Gemology is built primarily by crafting at the gemology table, so supplemented by finding metals

and crystals. Okay, so we do get a little bit from finding stuff. That's kind of good. Increasing the skill, unlock new jewelry designs and gemstone cuts, as well as increase the number of metals and crystals the sim finds. That's pretty cool. So the higher our skill, the more we can find. Great. All right, what did we actually find so far? We've got punium, ozinold, you know, all those. Wait, are those real metals? I know in sims, there's made up ones, but are those real? No, I don't think the

ozinold is real. That just comes up with Sims 4. I also don't think punium is real, because that also just comes up with Sims 4. Okay, good. I was like, those sound so fake, but I'm like, if those are real, you guys are not gonna let me forget about it. There are some real ones in the game, but a lot of them are just fake too. Yeah, we're just finding these capsules. Okay, all right, all right, all right. Let's go find, I need to find some crystals though. That's what we need to find. So we can

break open this, head into our forgotten grotto. Is that one of the things we have to do in this aspiration? Because I feel like it should be, right? Summon the grim reaper with jet gemstone?
