[Upbeat music] ♫ Be water smart, Longfellow’s WHALE Tales ♫ [Longfellow] Welcome to 'fishing for compliments!’ Avery, does my fishing hat A) Make my eyes sparkle, B) Frame my face nicely, or C) All of the above? [Avery gasps] [Avery] Hold on, Clawdette! [Longfellow] Woah there, Avery! Look, she’s OK. But even if she needed help, you should never go into the water to try and save someone, or you could end up in trouble too. Instead, [Drum roll] we should always remember to... [Audience] REACH! O
R! THROW! [Theme music for game show] ♫ Someone stuck in the water? Don’t just go! ♫ ♫ First call for help, then reach or throw! ♫ [Longfellow] Yes, it’s ‘Reach or Throw’ where the points are crazy high and the host is crazy handsome. Let’s welcome our lucky first contestant, Avery! [Audience cheers] [Longfellow] Now Avery, when we see someone in trouble, first, we should try to get the attention of a lifeguard or another capable adult who can help. Let’s see how loud you can call for help. [
Avery] HELP! [Bell dings] [Audience cheers] [Longfellow] Wonderful, wonderful! Help is on the way. Now, for the big tuna, let’s play... [Audience] WHEEL-O-RESCUE! [Longfellow] As you can see, here are different items that you could use to reach out to someone in the water and pull them in to safety, or throw to help them float or get pulled in. Some look official, others don’t. But all of these can work. Give it a spin, Avery! [Wheel spinning] [Longfellow] Oh-boy-oh-boy-oh-boy-oh-boy… oh buoy
! Now, see if you can’t toss that puppy over to our friend in the water and pull her to safety. This is for the win. Ready? [Avery] Mmmhmm. Alright! [Theme music for game show] ♫ Someone stuck in the water? Don’t just go! ♫ ♫ First call for help, then reach or throw! ♫ [Cheers]
