This is a meme. Memes are a way to express funny  situations and relate with others, all compressed into a single image, or sometimes, video. Memes  are the pinnacle of what humans are capable of and without them, the world could very much fall into  chaos. So what would happen if there were no more memes? What if the world became unfunny? [Music] Memes are a huge part of internet culture. The  average person spends roughly 7 hours a day on the internet and a big chunk of it is spent looking  at
memes. Memes can also make for a strange, yet great, way to bond with friends online,  especially in the midst of a pandemic. So let's see what happens when we take away one  of humanity's greatest innovations. First, we need to define how such an apocalypse could  happen. Let's say in the not-so-distant future, a  solar flare rushes through our planet. We won't go  too far into detail as we've already made a video about that, but in a nutshell, a solar flare is a  massive group of protons spew
ed out from the sun and if contact is made they do not get along with  computers. This hypothetical solar flare wipes out the entirety of strictly memes stored across the  globe: The Solar Meme Apocalypse. All the memes on the planet are permanently removed. Scientists  are certainly left confused, trolls disappointed, and procrastinators with nothing to do. (but...  maybe get some work done) People around the world will be very bored. Of course, memes are made  quickly and with little effort to
be shared to nearly everyone who can get their hands on a  device. So things should be back to normal in a few months to a year. However, being the dumb and  greedy humans we are, a second path could arise, and this could result in all-out war. [Music]
