hello all i am planning to create one series
on cryptography used in automotive domain this is the first video of this series we
will see what is cryptography and its origin human being from the age had to inherit needs
one is to communicate and share the information and second one is to communicate selectively these
two needs gave rise to art of coding the message in a such a way that only internet people could
have the access to the information unauthorized people could not extract any in
formation even if
the scramble message fell in their hands here we can define cryptography as the art and science of
concealing the message to introduce secrecy in the information security is recognized as cryptography
the word cryptographic comes from two greek words crypto meaning hiding and graphene meaning writing
the art of cryptography is considered to be brown along with the art of writing as civilization
evolved human beings got organized in tribes groups and kingdoms this lead to e
mergence
of ideas such as power battle supremacy and politics these adders further fueled the
national need of people to communicate secretly with selective recipient which in turns ensured
the continuous evaluation of cryptography as well in modern days cryptography deals with actual
securing of digital data it refers to design of mechanism based on mathematical algorithm that

prime objective of cryptography is to secure data from unauthorized user in short we can say
cryptography is protecting the information using different mathematical and coding
tools from unauthorized access nowadays cars and trucks are becoming
computers on wheels similar to our personal computers or office computers have
threat of hacking and manipulating and misuse this vehicle computer also have same risk to
protect these co
mputers we have to implement cyber security in it cryptography is ideal for V2X
communication that is vehicle to another tester V2V communication that is vehicle to another
vehicle communication and V2I communication which is vehicle to roadside infrastructure
communication for example u2i can be used with a smart city initiative such as gridlock
cryptography supports the authentication that allows this application to trust one another
which obviously is key because they involves human life
in terms of metals moving at high speed
crypto algorithms are also a great way to encrypt v2x communication without cryptography it is
possible that hacker could send fake message that could cause for instance extend by
triggering automatic braking at high speed to avoid these consequences implementation
