When You Wish Upon a Star: Live at Longwood Towers with Tom LaMark

Such an honor to perform the 95th concert of the Longwood Towers Music Series with Mr. Tom LaMark and my AAWD mentee Chris Xu 💕 10.) When You Wish Upon a Star from Disney's Pinocchio Disney has been a beacon of dreams and imagination for my family. When we first moved to the US, I lived with my grandparents in their senior home, only seeing my parents on weekends. Every morning, my grandpa walked with me to the bus stop, just a few blocks from Harvard's Longwood campus, and we would wait up to an hour or two for the school bus. I remember the first time I ever watched Aladdin was in the basement room that my parents were renting of an old apartment building and on a tiny 12-inch cube TV. Almost 20 years later, I watched Aladdin again on a normal TV in the apartment I just moved into to start my orthodontics residency at Harvard. We had just gotten a Disney+ subscription, and it was a profoundly emotional experience for me. Being able to perform this Disney classic as a part of my setlist for the Longwood Towers Concert Series has been an incredible honor.
