Kim Jong Un is the current supreme
leader of North Korea. He was born in 1984, and is the son of Kim Jong Il.
Kim Jong Un assumed power after his father's death in December 2011, and has since consolidated
his control over the country's military and government. He is the youngest person to hold
the position of supreme leader in North Korea. During his tenure, Kim Jong Un has pursued a
policy of strengthening North Korea's nuclear weapons program. He has also been involved in

of South Korea and the United States. Kim Jong Un's leadership has been criticized by
