2023 can be safely called as a year of the box office comeback for Bollywood audiences were back in the theaters and many content-driven movies and blockbusters were released which resulted in good box office collections but if you have to choose one moment that defined magic in 2023 it has to be the SRK comeback in Pathaan coming back after a three-year break and on the back of a string of flops SRK needed a change in persona Pathaan came out with a bang and became a huge box of his success whi
ch basically set up 2023 the Superstar followed it up with Jawan which dominated both domestic
and international markets and emerged as the highest grosser for 2023 he ended the year with Dunki which even though faced tough
competition from Prabhas's Salaar did a lot of business making it a hat-trick for King Khan so for SRK fans, 2023 was a fantastic year and it goes with the saying that when the kingdom is in trouble the king steps out to bring calm before we dive in, I want to clarify that
this is not a typical review video where we dissect technicalities or debate controversies nor is it criticizing SRK's
acting in Pathaan and Jawan instead we will focus on why Dunki stands out as the best of SRK's acting performances of 2023 so please watch till the end with an open mind to help us convey our opinion let's get started 2023 wasn't the first time SRK acted in three or more movies in a calendar year but for comparison's sake we'll pick the year 2004 when movies like Main Hoon Na,
Veer Zaara and Swades were released although Swades wasn't a
commercially successful film it has built a cult following over the years and is considered one of
SRK's best acting performances if you compare the box office collection Dunki takes the shallow end of the pond compared with the likes of Pathaan and Jawan similar to how the trajectory looked in 2004 but if you carefully peel the layers you'll see glimpses of the '90s-wal Sharukh which I loved watching growing up this also was another
reason why a lot of his fans didn't like Dunki stating that they would instead prefer watching him beat up bad guys versus emotionally connecting
with them through a riveting tale after the Dunki trailers dropped it was evident that audiences
shouldn't go to theaters thinking that it was an SRK film there were no Pathaan like kicks Jawan like disguises or SRK's signature style of spreading arms Romance Dunki was always a Rajkumar Hirani film where the real hero of the movie is the story this
required SRK to shed
the golden blanket of stardom and bring out one of the finest
evergreen actors of all time Rajkumar Hirani's distinctive storytelling style and the strong characterization
of actors in his films are amongst his strongest suits each character is crafted with meticulous detail often embodying a blend of
humor depth and humanity whether it be Sanjay Dutt from Munnabhai a lovable goon who aspires to become a doctor to fulfill his father's dream or Aamir Khan's portrayal of R

strong antagonist characters like Boman Irani's Dr. Asthana, the dean in Munnabhai MBBS, or the memorable Viru Sahastrabuddhe, aka "Virus," the strict and authoritarian
college dean in 3 Idiots. In Pathaa, SRK was fighting against Jim in Jawan he was fighting against Kaali and in Dunki, SRK's character Hardy is fighting agai
nst the process of immigration shedding light on an important subject Hardy navigates the complexities
of life in the town of Laltu with wit and warmth, battles his friends pathos and eventually becomes the group's de-facto leader his resolve and acceptance of
what matters to his friends and how helpless they are makes
you connect with SRK's character amidst the ensemble cast Hardy is the one you root for
to help the lost trio of Laltu SRK's character Hardy goes through varying stages
of ex
pectations in Dunki he's empathetic, sympathetic,
loving and most importantly courageously defiant along this journey you will see
shades of SRK's past filmography the king of romance shows
us the charm of DDLJ's Raj when he is silently falling in love with Manu the spirit of Veer Zaara when he
showcases empathy and compassion while being the de-facto leader of a group especially during the courtroom scene and the simplicity of Swades is Mohan Bharghav who comes to Laltu to return a transist
or stays back to help the people of Laltu to overcome their struggles exhibiting a similar sent of introspection and connection to his
