Why Lethal Company is a Perfect Horror Game

erm... this COMPANY sure is LETHAL... We all LOVE your awful haircut.' In this video, I talk about the indie multiplayer online co-op horror game: LETHAL COMPANY. This game is one of the most scary, cursed, and funny horror games ever made, and I discuss why in this video. It also includes some funny gameplay moments of me playing SOLO lethal company, which was TERRIFYING. I also rank and explain every enemy in the game, which I'm gonna turn into like a million tiktoks probably. SUBSCRIBE!!! Lethal Company is an early access co-op survival horror game created and developed by Zeekerss. The game takes place in a retrofuturistic post-apocalyptic universe, where players take on the role of contracted employees working for a corporation called “The Company", collecting scrap from abandoned, industrialized moons, while having to avoid traps, environmental hazards, and monsters. lethal company is one of the scariest horror games I've ever played here's why on August 1st 2023 zikas a game developer and YouTuber with incredible videos like cooking with zers uploaded a trailer for a new multiplayer horror game called lethal company the concept of the game is simple you work for a company called the company and your job to collect scrap from different abandoned moons this means stuff like metal engine parts and you got to get some silly gizmos and Gadgets in there come on h
owever as you might have guessed you're not there [Music] alone after 3 days you have to sell all your findings and if you haven't met the money quter you get and boiled down that's pretty much it obviously there is much more to it than that but the game isn't trying to be a huge 3,000 hour experience that involves looking through a Wiki every 5 minutes and thank God because I hate games like that Terraria I love you but like I hate you and on October 23rd 2023 lethal company was released on Ste
am in Early Access and it exploded faster than any game I've ever seen explode before this game almost instantly became a classic and for good reason the game is genius it's such a simple concept but it works so well and since it's a horror game YouTubers can scream at the top of their lungs whenever anything happens so this indie game made by one person was now one of the biggest games on Steam but why what makes this game so scary compared to others and how is the game play different to other
similar horror games well I'm going to tell you stop asking stupid questions after starting the game you wake up in a place you're going to be getting very used to a small Bland boring space sh which also happens to be the only place you're ever going to feel somewhat safe in if you have friends sorry guys you'll spawn in here with them and you can talk to them using proximity chat the best feature in literally every single game it's in like the video if you agree there isn't much room for you a
nd your crew and it can very easily get infiltrated by anything that wants in St however you do have the ability to move almost everything inside the ship which lets you do stuff like build a slight barrier for you to hide behind yes I know I'm a [ __ ] but most of what you're going to be doing in here is watching your friend suffer on the cameras and using the terminal the terminal is how you access pretty much everything in the game such as buying items access accessing your storage and select
ing which moons you want to travel to there are nine total moons in the game ranging from the completely Safe Company building to hell and after a quick speech introducing you to the company I'm you're given a deadline of 3 days to reach your profit quota so you don't get and then once you pull this lever the game begins immediately you're greeted with an honestly ugly world the colors are muted and dark the Visa's pixelation effect makes everything in the distance blend together and there's a c
onstant layer of fog blocking your view there's no Grand reveal of a huge open area with r tracing RTX RGB RBG it's just this and this alone completely sets the mood for the game this isn't a place you want to be you want to be here for as little time as possible just get the stuff and get out but if you don't get enough stuff to reach your quota you need to go back otherwise you'll end up I want to apologize that's the last time I'm doing that each moon in Lethal company is different some are m
ore natural and some are more not there isn't an in-game map so you do have to explore these areas a decent amount to learn where everything is but they're relatively small so you'll learn the rootes pretty quickly on top of that there are also different weather conditions that can change your Outdoor Experience storms can cause lightning which strikes you if you're holding metal items which I have died to countless times if it's foggy it's foggy and if there's an incoming flood the entire Moon
gets covered in water which means you need to get out quickly or risk drowning so when possible you want to avoid traveling to moons with dangerous weather conditions but luckily oh maybe unluckily you're not going to be spending much time Outdoors anyway because all the scrap you need is inside the facility every Moon has a facility building and it's usually pretty easy to find as you just need to look out for the most dystopian building you have ever seen now all you have to do is hold e and y
eah I'm out inside the facility is where this game becomes horrifying this place is basically a maze some doors lead nowhere some doors lead to tons of different branching paths and some doors lat to there's a constant Ambience that's loud enough to distract you but quite enough to make any other sound jump scare you and this place is dark like really dark there are usually a few lit rooms but especially when you don't have a flashlight a lot of the time you're going to be walking through this p
lace blindly but none of that's what you're going to be focusing on because the only thing that's going to be on your mind is avoiding the monsters there are a lot of enemies in this game and which ones spawn and which don't is completely random so you're never going to know which ones you're facing if only there was a way where I could quickly explain and maybe rank every monster in the game the lethal company monster teer list loot bgs are the most harmless of the Hostile creatures they mostly
just like to steal items from you and won't try attack you but if you get too close to them they will fight back eer four lizards terrified me the first time I saw one but then I realized they're scared of you and will run away if you chase them be here for relatability next up is no no no snare leas hide on ceilings and will head crab you if you walk underneath them a the bunker spider is stupid and awful I hate you I don't have Arachnophobia I swear I'm just going to put you down here the thu
mper thumps around the thump Cy and will charge at you extremely fast if it sees you C now the Bracken is the coolest one and I'm not even sure I know how he works if you look at them they'll run away but if you stay for too long they'll get angry and charge at you killing you instantly s TI easily coil head on the other hand is Peanut I would describe it more but it is literally the SCP peanut look at it it don't move Look Away it mve beta the ghost girl is probably the creepiest thing in this
game she'll only show up for one player and she'll run around turning off lights and humming before eventually s for spooky the jester is just a silly little guy playing a silly little tune I'm sure he won't kill everyone instantly the mask is a 1994 comedy movie featuring Jim Carrey I'm reading the wrong page players can find the mask as an item and if they hold it for for too long it'll bind itself to them this turns that person into an enemy and any players that are killed by them turn into o
ne to S tier and finally The Nutcracker has a shotgun a tier Now While most of the monsters are inside there are some that spawn outside such as bees bees spawn with a hive and that Hive is worth quite a lot of money but once you pick it up the bees get angry and will absolutely decimate you and your entire team if you're that one person that picks up at the start of the game I hate you hey guys guess what these guys are going in next there's Big Worm it comes out of the ground and eats you see
isa's dogs are so cool they can't see so they only respond to noise and this includes your voice so if you run into them and make the mistake of letting your friends know it's there it's over EST and finally Forest keepers are giants if they see you they eat you they're simply really strong a tier oh there's also Locust now all this is great these are some scary scary fellas but I don't think that's what makes this game so scary if this game was just random entities chasing you through a complex
it would be no different from running away from nextbots in Gary's Mod it's the little things in horror games that makes them truly terrifying and in Lethal company I think it's a sound design first of all there's obviously the proximity chat which is so much more immersive than joining a Discord call hearing people scream in the distance due to some sort of enemy is terrifying and when you're left alone you feel alone and vulnerable because there's no yapping to distract you additionally one s
pecific sound design choice I really like is the musical cue and slight visual effect that happens when you see a dead body because it makes it feel so much more like you've seen something scary rather than oh look this dumbass felt to their death and the extra things like voices becoming echoey when you're inside it's just lovely like you got to love that and overall the ambience and decisions with the audio in this game results in a horrifying experience don't believe me well to prove that let
hal company is one of the scariest games ever made I went in alone no silly funny moments no talking to distract me just pain here we are guys luten yep now that I love that Ambiance that's great Ambience lovely stuff I'm so glad I'm hearing this what the [ __ ] was that no no no I'm going I'm going it could have been worse I could have gotten minus money all right this Moon's called offence um and in in 2023 that's kind of everything nowadays [ __ ] you all right yeah right yeah funny yeah funn
y right just there we go was it that [Music] hard right now most phony YouTubers would see that and think no I'm going to run away cuz I'm scared I'm a baby not [Music] me right back in my hometown with my new it's kind of cute I kind of like it come on come on O come on oh what you the way you the way yeah piss off manate you're stupid you stupid ow ow ow ow [ __ ] no no no I was kidding listen it was a joke I had so much stuff right so this oh my God Jack this is the last chance you have if yo
u [ __ ] this up you're done Luigi's Mansion oh you little [ __ ] you little [ __ ] you I hate you I hate you just leave just leave just leave just leave just leave I don't care where you are I'm just leaving oh my God man so lethal company is undoubtably scary but the reason why this game is so popular and so loved is because the game is just fun a large majority of horror games that get popular nowadays are what I like to call Disney theme park rides by this I mean horror games that Focus Less
on being a game and more on it being a scary experience rather than being built around an actual video game concept they're built around the concept of Markiplier playing it I really don't like these types of horror games because they don't feel organic in any way they're usually extremely predictable and sometimes not even scary whereas this game is not only terrifying but there's also an actual game behind it playing this game with friends can be hilarious it can be exciting it can be terrify
ing it can be anything because it isn't constantly shouting at you ah be scared be scared this game is scary this game is scary this game is proof that if you want a game to leave and impact on people you focus on the game and not what people's reactions are going to be and that is why lethal company is one of the scariest games ever made subscribe

Don’t let the haters get to you MewZe. We all LOVE your awful haircut.

@DannyEastes

everyone for no reason: "horror games have to be solo, co-op horror isn't scary, friends ruin the atmosphere" zeekerss: singlehandedly proves literally everybody wrong

@skeletonknight6593

as a lethal company employee i can confirm that everything in this video is true

@NMRIHisagreatsourcemodd

We need more coop horror like this. These games are just so much fun.

@tbonestabz4563

Your point about horror games focusing on the gameplay section and being less reliant on scripted events made me think back on FNAF, it felt more like a game rather than an experience. Yes, it still utilized the "in your face jumpscares", but even then it still had the ambience and isolation like this game does. I suppose that why I love both games! Great video!

@Mrbobbobbobs

Glad to see zeekers* finally get the recognition he deserves it steals and the upturned were one of the most fun and unique horror games I had ever scene

@SUPERLEAF002

Lethal company is a game that shines with friends. I don't have any friends.

@nemesis021

I can’t believe he forgot about the 2 birds in the tier list

@Plexi.T

I wish I could like a video multiple times. The way you explain why this game is so good and popular was simply so clean and concise.

@lethalcompanybracken5

Thank you Mr. MewZe for putting me into S-Tier along with my good pals, Ghost Girl, Masked, and Eyeless Dogs. I also agree that the locust is Super S-Tier.

@mreverything7056

For me, what really sells this game is how well the visuals and audio are both used to give you "haha funny moments" and then immediatley rip it all away, then give it back, rinse and repeat. The Bracken and Coil Heads are great examples. The bracken has very distinct noises when you see it (the rustling leaves), and its bright white eyes means you can make it out in the darkness. That very noise strengthens the fact that its a stealth killer, and you could go from discussing plans with your friends to seeing a trail of blood and items. Coil Heads show their speed with the signature spring of their coils, and your first instinct is naturally to try and back away from it. You quickly learn its Mr. Popato, but it becomes even more scary when you consider that you could moonwalk into a mine or the Bracken could be behind you to ruin your run. Also, thank goodness the audio is actually BALANCED WELL, and loud noises aren't used for every way you die. If the Bracken did a FNaF screech at me everytime it snapped my neck, I would hate it so much more.

@ApricotTheFruit

Lets be real here. This game has Movie Potential.

@That_One_Fool

Failing the jumps during the Gameplay section was the most relatable thing ever

@sanstheskeleton8104

Not many horror games has your body ragdolling upon death.

@egg.6223

This is actually so true, whenever I'm with anyone it's just run in and be funny, whenever I'm alone the ambience gets to me and I get every motivation in the workd to just leave

@mrbigrig171

Once had a game where the Bracken tried to sell me a surfshark membership

@user-ub1sq2mp9m

With friends this game is the best times you will have with them but by yourself it becomes one of the scariest games ever no matter how many times you replay it solo is the scariest thing ever

@jinx_is_god

CONGRATS ON 200K!!!

@InsaneMedicine

My personal favourite experience in lethal company was when on rend (on stormy conditions) and a friend just sprinting towards us (screaming) with a bell just sparking in his hands and somehow managing to kill all 3 of us scavengers. (guy on ship was laughing his ass off while teleporting our corpses)

@shingo767

genuinely so happy to see you upload :)
