You don't need an expensive camera to film Air Shows

Ever wanted to get into Air Show or aviation videography but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to do it? This guide will show you how to use the camera you already have with you every day to film professional quality Air Shows... Or any fast paced, distant event. All you need to get started is an iPhone. Just begin! I began my YouTube journey after getting the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I was astounded by the quality of the footage I could get out of it... especially the long range of the new 5x 120mm equivalent telephoto lens, ubiquitous connectivity of the USB-C port, and flexibility and clarity of ProRes Log encoding. I decided to use it to film Air Shows to showcase its capabilities. Since then, I've had many questions about how I get such good looking footage out of a camera that fits in my pocket (and also happens to be a full featured cell phone!). I made this video to answer those questions. Special shout out to Conor @circavia for the assist in filming this one, as well as all the fine folks at the El Centro Airshow 2024. Most footage showcases the 2024 U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Also featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, F-35A Demo Team, F-35C Demo Team, and F-22 Demo Team.

The visually dazzling performances at air shows are practically begging to be filmed, but these jets move fast and they're pretty far away. Surely all the footage you're seeing right now was shot on a high-end camera with an expensive long lens, right? Well, you already clicked on this video. You know what I'm going to say. It was actually shot on this. In this video, I'll explain how I'm pushing the iPhone's camera system to its absolute limit. And I'm going to show you how to shoot air shows a
nd any fast-paced event like a pro using the best camera in the world, the one that you've always got with you.
