welcome to Hong Kong the pearl of the Orient Well Visit a fishing Village explore the Heart of the City and sail through Victoria [Music] Harbor it's day 109 from our ultimate Journey around the world nested where the Pearl River delta kisses the South China Sea Hong Kong is a dazzling future of East me West a city where the skyscrapers Reach for the Stars good morning we're in Hong Kong we're amazed at the density of the population of the highrises they go so far back and we're looking at the c
ruise Port Terminal it's impressive it's huge today we're going to do some exploring we actually have two days here which is great we're going to be here overnight we've been here before a few years ago but it it keeps growing it's shocking how big it is it's supposedly the most densely populated city in the world and I'm just looking around and thinking about gee I was here several years ago we we we were here for business basically for two days on our way to China and I'm amazed that I really
can't remember much and actually that's the beauty of YouTube because we're capturing all of these travel moments that we can go and relive a welcoming dragon show the dragon is a symbol of Toler and strength and good luck it's believed to bring prosperity and good fortune it's performed to invoke those blessings and to ward off evil spirits it's very impressive feels just like an airport and some excellent signage yeah you want to take bus 22 that takes you to the Metro we're on the bus transfe
r and the bus in front of us it says they're hiring bus captains not a driver but a bus Captain here super easy get on bus 22 to the metro and you're good to go these are all new buildings going up on the waterfront huge high-rise buildings apartment [Music] complexes whole area is brand new they're building all new struction like in front of us you can see the people on top to give you an idea how big it is they're like like ants oh look at they're building new Bridges the whole area is under c
onstruction [Music] unbelievable we're going to the kite tax station to get the Metro it's a Concrete Jungle look at this in front of us they're just building all over the place how smooth it is you can't get lost look at the Lage uh we just got off at the tong Chung Station Metro and this is where you get off to go up to the tram but we are shocked at the sheer size of this apartment complexes look at all around us they they are a small City in and of themselves it's mindboggling want to see a
lot of Apartments there it is and there are Stacks and stacks of them everywhere okay we're on the cable car and it's probably going to be in the clouds we [Music] go wow it's beautiful [Music] okay we're going to start climbing now up the mountain oh wow now we're in the clouds look at this woo we're high it's kind of freaky actually wow [Music] oh we made it and it's warm I thought it was going to be cold but it's not it's great so once you get up here it's like a little village they have litt
le little stores and restaurants they can hang out up here for a while and that's what we're going to do we're at the Nong ping Village and actually this is the Landau Island and it's the home of the tanon Buddha it's one of the world's largest Bron Buddhist statues no feeding cattle or Buffalo where are are they and there's a monastery a wisdom path and the big Buddha so you can see the wall right here the entrance gate well there's another sign this says it's there's feral cattle and buffalo t
hat means they're kind of wild they don't want you feeding them maybe it's a problem so we're waiting for our turn and what you want to do is you want to get in the center and you can hear you can hear the echo all around you the way it's built and you look up at the Buddha right you look up at the Buddha and you you make your wish and we were here like about 10 years ago and I made the wish so made a wish and so did I when you when you stand in the middle right there and you say your prayer it
and you don't have to talk very loud at all it it it goes around your whole head you can hear it echoing you can hear yourself you nobody else can hear it like I'm not even hardly saying it but I can hear it echoing back into my ears I made a wish here 10 years ago and it did come true and I know this wish will come true I know it so don't take this lightly the incet smoke ascends prayers wishes and intentions to the heavens you know yeah I don't know about that but that's oh look at the this is
the monastery we're entering the Poland [Music] monastery you're right it [Music] wasn't [Music] wow it's so [Music] colorful it's amazing all the [Music] detail incredible [Music] huh welcome to the Village of Tai o to Taio and this is the village that has the boat ride to see the homes and the Stills we're all loaded up ready to go wow this is very interesting the fishermen have their boats in front of their houses it's a Charming fishing Village and many describe it as the Venice of the East
it looks like a place where time seems to move slower offering a glimpse into the way of life that remains relatively unchanged for decades the people living here are mainly Tonka people with a long history of living on boats and stilt houses along the coastlines of China they make their living from fishing what a unique cultural experience a site of Hong Kong that is far removed from its skyscraper Skyline fishingman still head to seea in the morning now though tourism seems to play a vital ro
le of the economy of the village buses bring tourists from cable cars and from Hong Kong there is quite a few tour operators that you can select [Music] [Music] from the way things change around the world I wonder how long this will last I like visiting places like this if you're coming to Hong Kong I really recommend you come here to see it while it [Music] [Music] [Music] lasts we're looking for the wild white dolphins but the bridge to maau is sure exciting to see it's 55 km or 35 M long and
it has a series of bridges and 6.7 km are tunnels under the water to avoid the shipping lanes it was a colossal engineering feat and it took thousands of workers and a decade to construct [Music] [Music] wow look at this dried dried octopus this is the place to come I like it better you're out of the city you get a better feel of the daily life of the locals which we absolutely love to do and if you go up to the cable car you can get a ticket that includes the boat ride in this this uh Village s
o I'm really glad we came here I like it like you you can't recognize anything like food and stuff is totally foreign which I love nice peanut Sesame Mochi okay maybe on the way back we'll have to try something but evidently they do have a lot of seafood here because we're in the fishing Village all of these places are restaurants and little shops and it's really neat it's like a it feels very authentic although they're they're used to tourists here which is nice it's fun to go it's fun to just
walk around see what they have be good to get a a bike and ride your bike around sunkey Bridge it's you don't really need the boat ride it's almost more fun to walk around on these little sidewalks over Bridges I'm not sure if they call this Hong Kong Venice but I saw a sign back there that said Venice I like it better than that oh yeah look at this it has a lot of [Music] character what do you think Saro I'm looking for a house to [Laughter] by okay what is this yeah I want to try that oo M goo
d yeah uh yeah we we got the package with the round trip Crystal Clear cabin and it definitely pays because there's a big long line for people to return make sure you take the crystal all the way cuz there's no lines [Music] yeah pretty cool on a tour and we're on our own tour we're a tour yeah it's a $2 tour it costs $2 for the both of us we used our credit card when we got on no problem Al we're going to the shim sha sui prominade that's where we're going to be able to see the light [Music] sh
ow there's lasers on the rooftops but everybody's down here look at it I mean the city is impressive as huge [Music] the Hong Kong Skyline is one of the most impressive at night though it truly shines at 8:00 p.m. every night there's a light show Illuminating from the buildings beams of laser lights cut through the night painting the Skies of Hues of emerald Sapphire and gold the the buildings come alive and the reflections are [Music] magnificent reflection you don't see [Music] nothing like it

many buses city buses out there if you want to go to the Metro you have two choices so you have two different choices you have 22m and 22R 22R is a direct shot right to the Metro but you don't you have to check the schedule yeah grab grab either one and you'll get to the Metro once you're at the Metro you're free to go anywhere in the city of Hong Kong very simple they take credit cards right on the bus too just boom tap and you're on hey pay by cash yeah oh you have to put the money okay that'
s Soler is to it it's easy just hang on five stops integrating with the locals is a way to go we're under the road we're underneath the city oh right here you can see the buildings see there's a map that tells are all the buildings we're going to the star fery and here's that's where we want to go so the water front yeah j3 is your exit we really feel comfortable and confident Now using the Metro because this is our second day well unfortunately when you're on a cruise ship you're only there one

ive once you get closer look at these way in the distance distance right there is our cruise ship I guess I didn't realize we were that close to the city because when you take the tray on you get to go all the way around interesting it's very overwhelming and they're just building more and more and more God gosh these buildings look more impressive once you get closer look at these incredible playground for the kids most of the buildings that we watched from Dollar side last night all the walkwa
