Hi all! Warmly welcome all of you to my Youtube channel. As the first Vlog of this channel, I'm headed to India, Specially Manali and Shimla. I'm going to India with three friends. According to our plan, we departed from Sri Lanka on the 7th of December 2023. We had our flight on 7th 00.35 AM We chose Sri Lankan Airlines for our flight. After exiting the airport, we headed straight to the metro station located on the airport premises Since the metro line offered the most convenient route, we dec
ided to take it to reach the hotel we had pre-booked in Delhi. Actually, The Metro service was remarkably clean and convenient and, Most of the time, catching a metro was easy. Next, we visited the Starbucks in Connaught Place in Delhi for breakfast. For me, this was the first time I tried Starbucks. Afterwards, we continued on our way to the hotel - Hotel Ajanta We took an Uber On the way to the hotel We observed the bustling and noisy streets of Delhi during our journey. We were exhausted from
traveling for hours without proper sleep. So, we purchased the essentials needed for the remainder of our journey, and... and boarded the pre-booked bus for Manali around 6 PM Here you can see a video on the way to manali by bus After few hours of the journey, The bus made a stop for dinner along the way. After a well-deserved break, we pushed forward on our journey. For this journey we spent around 12-14 hrs since we were tired, majority of the journey what we did was sleeping. Meanwhile we
could see some tunnels on the way. There were many tunnels on the road because we were surrounded by mountains. We also saw some ongoing projects as well. After a few hours of restful sleep, we awoke to breathtaking landscapes unfolding before us. There were mountains everywhere We were almost there! Just a little under two hours left until we reach Manali. During these mountain lanscape, I could see a snow mountain with my eyes and it was the first time we see a snow mountain from or naked eye
Also we spotted some buildings and noted parts of the road damaged by.... ... heavy rainfall a few months earlier. Construction was underway to repair the roads and bridges damaged. We finally arrived at our destination, Manali! The view from the hotel was absolutely stunning! Good morning! We've arrived at this cold and stunnning tourist destination. This was my first time traveling overseas, and.. Most probably this will be the very first video in this channel We came to India!!!! We arrived i
ndia early in the morning on 7th of December I'm shooting this video on 8th of December We didn't capture much footage in Delhi ... ...due to the bustling and noisy surroundings. But, I can give you a small Recap We exited the Delhi airport around.... 7-8 AM in the morning We had to purchase some items we needed and we came to New Delhi Metro Station. To share the experience about the journey from the metro station to this hotel, Let's ask from minindu what he feels Let's share the experience we
had during the metro rides. Actually after seeing the delhi Airport metro station we thought... the standard will be same in every other metro line in delhi. But it's not. The New Delhi Metro excels, eclipsing other Delhi facilities. The New Delhi Metro serves.. ..as a solution to the traffic congestion in the New Delhi area. we also used the delhi metro service to... ..reach the hotel in delhi directly from the airport We had to use few metro lines to reach to our hotel The situations afterwar
d were quite different from the.. smooth experience we had with the metro service. At first, we thought Delhi is similar to the colombo fort But it's not Delhi's roads tend to be noisier and busier If you prefer quiet places and dislike crowded environments, Delhi might be a challenge for you. Yesterday, We spent the entire day in Delhi to... .. buy SIM cards and other essentials We mostly relied on Uber for transportation during our time there. Finding a vehicle or taxi without any damage was c
hallenging there. The roads were congested with vehicles, and ... some drivers were careless. It doesn't matter UBER or not, situation is same We used UBER 4 times yesterday situation was same Finally, we took the pre-booked bus from Delhi to Manali around 6 in the evening. After that, we didn't encounter any difficulties as the bus was comfortable, quiet, and cool. We arrived safely in Manali at the expected time as planned. Now we are in manali You'll see how beautiful the manali is. Now, let'
s take you on the journey from here. As Minindu mentioned, we were surprised by the amount of traffic in Delhi. But, the hotel was bit quite even it was surrounded by a busy area We didn't spend much time in the hotel as we had to venture out to buy winter clothes and other essentials. However, The bus to Manali was scheduled to depart from Delhi at 6:30 PM. I'll add more details to the video description We boarded the bus around 6 PM and commenced our journey to Manali at 6:30 PM. This journey
typically takes around 13 to 14 hours. After that journery... Despite the journey being long, we didn't feel uncomfortable because the Volvo bus was a semi-sleeper, providing some comfort along the way. It's worth mentioning that if you plan to buy food along the way, it can be a bit expensive. Other than that, the rest of the journey went smoothly. anyway the view is amazing in manali let me show that to you! Here, you can see the entrance of the hotel It had multiple floors, and we stayed on t
he first floor. This is the front view of the hotel We met a new friend also This is the entrance to the hotel Since we were a group of four people, we booked two rooms. Let's have a look on a room Here we have sandun He's preparing for the evening walk in manali town Here we have a small cupboard to keep some clothes This is the wash room with hot water Actually, it was very neat and clean. This is the bed Please disregard any mess with clothes. We have the TV here And here, we have a good-size
d mirror. This is the view from the balcony. On the first day, we took a stroll along Manali Mall Road and explored the town. As our first stop, we visited a temple located on Mall Road. It was a peaceful place, surrounded by mountains. Here we arrived at a Buddhist monastery on Manali Mall Road. Here, people worship Maithree Bodhisattva. These are the prayer wheels You need to rotate the prayer wheel while reciting the prayers mentioned here We continued exploring the Manali Mall Road and... Th
en we proceeded to visit another holy place. Hadimba Devi Temple After that, we came back to the hotel This was our first night spent in Manali. At night, the temperature kept dropping. But the night view was breathtaking. The next morning, we left the hotel to head for the mountains. During this time in Manali, snow might not be visible, but we can still experience it in the mountains. After breakfast, we left the hotel to visit there. Driver Karan arrived promptly at the hotel to pick us up on
time. While we were en route, Karan explained how a flooding incident a few months ago had damaged some roads in Manali. After a few minutes, we found ourselves surrounded by snow-capped mountains Actually, The mountains were simply covered in snow. This was our first time seeing snow-capped mountains up close. Other thing is... We also noticed some traffic congestion on the road, with vehicles lined up ahead. Now we're approaching a popular destination among travelers to Manali. This is solang
valley But we didn't stop there. The reason was that there was no snow at this time. To experience the snow, we headed towards Rohtang Pass. which is in higher altitude than manali, Rohtang pass and Atal Tunnel If you visit Manali during the snowfall season, you're likely to find snow here As mentioned earlier, we continued towards Atal Tunnel without making any stops. Along the way, we noticed the changing landscape and the diversity of trees, witnessing the beauty of nature's transformation.
We passed through several tunnels along the way. We're at a higher altitude now, and it's noticeably colder than before. Gradually, we're getting closer to the snow-covered area. Although the landscape wasn't entirely covered in snow, we could see patches of it near the roadside. It was a new experience Here we are, arriving at the Atal Tunnel. We expect even more snow on the other side of this tunnel. This Atal Tunnel stretches for nearly 9 kilometers. This tunnel was built to connect with the
Manali-Leh Highway, providing a crucial link between the two regions. After a few minutes, we arrived at a place where snow was visible in every direction. The landscape had undergone a complete transformation, We had previously seen the landscape adorned with green trees, but now, everything was blanketed in white. After skiing, we engaged in a friendly snowball fight It felt like we had stepped back into our childhood days We also made sure to build a snowman We dedicated some time to crafting
the perfect snowman When we finally felt exhausted, we lay back on the snow There is one thing I couldn't share with you. We rented clothes that matched the snowy landscape on our journey to Atal Tunnel. We got the full kit, including boots and socks Along the way back, we stopped at Solang Valley and enjoyed a ride on a yak, Good morning all! It's bit sad day for us. Because we will leave manali today. So... Today marks our final day in Manali. Before departing for Shimla, We'll take some time
to recap and reflect on all the sights and experiences we enjoyed during our time in Manali. Minindu, What you have to share? yes, Manali gave me some incredible memories. Manali felt completely different from our experiences in Delhi. Everything in Manali, from the people to the nature, brought immense pleasure. Everyone is supportive. Even if you don't know the local language, the people in Manali are always willing to help. Moreover, we didn't encounter any issues related to dishonesty durin
g our time in Manali. Our time in Manali was filled with numerous activities and new experiences. The only thing we missed is snow fall but, We were able to immerse ourselves in the snow experience, thanks to the Atal Tunnel and Rohtang Pass area. It's only a 30 km journey from Manali to reach there. Only takes around 1 hour. Also the road conditions are okay. So, that entire area was blanketed with snow as far as the eye could see. We tried a few activities there, including skiing, which was a
first-time experience for me. We could play with snow, and other activites also. So, I can say it was a lifetime experience for me. As seen in the video, on our way back, We made a stop at Solang Valley to enjoy a ride on a yak. Also we tried some amazing foods. Yesterday evening, We returned to one of our favorite restaurants on Manali's Mall Road for one last visit before leaving. We had been there for the past two days. We also tried some amazing local cuisine there.. The meals were not only
delicious but also reasonably priced After that we came back to our hotel. We enjoyed a good night's rest yesterday, knowing that we had a long drive today to shimla Additionally, we're aware that tomorrow night we have to make the journey back to Delhi, which will be around a 12-hour trip. We need to grab breakfast and bid farewell to Manali This is our final moment taking in the breathtaking beauty of these mountains. I'll miss this incredible view We'll be starting our journey to Shimla prett
y soon. We are in Hotel Kullu Manali Inn. We received helpful guidance and assistance from Bharat Booking India in booking our hotels and cab services. As I know this hotel also belongs to them. I'd like to mention that the hotel, staff, and food were all amazing I'm appreciate that. I'll add the information to the video description later. Now it's time to say bye to Manali, though it's hard to leave behind such a beautiful place.
