1 minute preview of "Intro to Electromagnetic & Mechanical Waves" educational science video.

The full length video and link to the free worksheet is at: https://youtu.be/Wu1BN2pA2IQ For background on why students may benefit from completing the science video worksheets at home the evening before you teach the class, please see: https://youtu.be/_zZuryl1k-c To save teachers time screening videos, each science video has a 1 minute preview video. You can find those in each subject playlist. The following playlist contains all of the preview videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTmMqDfxRPOhozl-H1sJmP1R5gXaKKS3E Viewing options: - This video is available in standard definition and high definition (1080) resolution. The video introduces students to the  vocabulary and concepts related to electromagnetic and mechanical waves. We  define and give examples of a vacuum and show how all electromagnetic waves can travel  in a vacuum. We define a physical medium, give examples of many mechanical wave groups  and emphasize that all mechanical waves must travel in a physical medium. We define transverse  and longitudinal waves, show these using familiar objects and advanced animations. We recommend  that students vi
ew the video the evening before you present the material in class. That way,  they'll already be familiar with key concepts and vocabulary. Students may pause the video to  read summary slides if they wish. The video's free engagement worksheet is available in many  formats including paper as well as digital ones, such as Google Forms and Canvas. Digital  formats let you quickly identify common errors, and they may automatically enter  individual scores into your grade books.
