Fantasy Football Advice Network

all right hello everyone and welcome back to the Mad Science Lab podcast brought to you by the combination of the fantasy football universe and fantasy football advice Network in duo with a screaming child in the background it's like wonderful Trio uh we're gonna continue on today hey at least it's your screaming kid instead of my kid screaming at fortnite I don't care it F I don't know I know a lot of these people have like uh they have families in that they must be in a set studio with like so
undproof rooms like Matt Kelly looks like he's in a soundproof bunker when he podcasts otherwise you hear that I don't know how they do it it's like I tou people it's like you have kids like how yeah they have like multiple level houses and they're like downstairs in the basement away from their families like it's it's hold on for a second because all right I'm going to get into the intro anyways we are here for another Edition of Dynasty risers and fallers obviously I've got Jesse on the show n
o need for an introduction if you if you're watching this you know who he is same with that who I recorded yesterday um we'll start with his Riser that is Houston receiver tank Dell going into his second year was right wide receiver 39 last year it seemed a lot higher than that because he only played in 11 games he was awesome in those 11 games though he had 47 receptions on 75 targets 79 709 yards and seven touchdowns um wide receiver 20 on keep trade cut wide receiver 24 on fantasy pros in sin
gle QB rankings overall he's 37th on keep trade cut 43rd on fantasy pros so he is a fourth round pick is give or take and a backend wide receiver too what do you see in tank Dell where do you have him where do you have him going he's in a huge of tier four is just like a massive group of some younger guys some older guys and it's like 30 receivers that he's in that tier yeah he's kind of in the like I'm on Dynasty data lab right now looking at the ADP for startups on sleeper he's going alongside
like rashy rice T Higgins JS Z flowers it's all kind of a big group of guys so that's the exact tier right now it's a different ex it's a different order on fantasy pros but you named every one of those guys those are all in his tier it's a giant tier and for me it's basically the fact he's connected to CJ and the difference is he does something else no one else on that Texas team can do so he like unlike Nico Collins his role is like singular no one else can like do what he does like we saw la
st year with like Noah Brown he kind of replicated what n Collins could do no one can do what tank Del does on that offense he separates it a completely different way he wins differently and basically the bull case is like he came in as a rookie undersized and he just absolutely bald out so like from that perspective stepping in and being as good as he was I am fully confident investing with him and seeing how year two kicks off with CJ shroud like that's kind of just where I'm at with take and
if I'm getting him in the four fifth round like hammer it all day let me get that all day folks my God I was uh I went to click on the other tab for the fantasy pros rankings and I got a notification from Twitter and accidentally clicked on that by mistake did you see the picture Theo oh he probably didn't it just came up Theo gringer from player profiler just posted a picture of brayan Allen in the gym at the combine oh my Lord is he big and we're going to sell him now because people are going
to be like oh my God I saw Hutchinson Brown posted it too and I was like people are going to make him the rb1 and I'm like you know what I just looked I was like yeah I think I have a new rv1 that D's a truck but so I mean he's a monster right completely sidetracked here but my question is tank Dell at his current price of a you know uh wide low-end wide receiver too why would I want to be buying tank Dell when I can just buy Jacob cowien who's tank Dell apparently I apparently I mean tank tank
Dell about the production we sure right let me get let me get cing in the 17th route of startups and you know I'm I'm totally fine with that like you want to roll the dice on cing let's go with it baby you know no no I was being sarcastic I know I like the I like the mini wide receivers I don't mind it's like I like the short he is in a tier here from 16 to 29 for wide receivers of largely guys where we just don't know what the hell to do with them so you've got the three with the kind of unstab
le situation they're not old they're not young they're medium we got DJ Moore DK and T Higgins to started off then we've got a whole bunch of first second third year guys in Nico Rashi Drake London Z flowers Dell Addison adun jsn and then it ends the round with three old guys in Debo Diggs of Devonte so you kind of see the three middle-aged guys with the proven track record at the top a whole bunch of guys grab bag here of we don't know what the hell any of them really are some of them produced
but not in a full season some of them look like they could have upside some of them have never done anything it's a chance and then we cap it off with the um the three old guys where do you see him okay well let's start let's compare him to the other groups um are you taking him over any of DJ metf or T I would take him over all three of those guys okay so that means you're obviously gonna be taking him over Diggs Samuel and Adams because they're at the bottom of the range I would assume yeah li
ke especially the age the fact with those guys it's just they have to produce there's no excuse for them so if they don't produce their value is going to absolutely tank so that means all that's left is the relatively young players are you taking all Nam players here in that tier you tell me if you're taking any of them over tank Nico Rashi Drake London Z flowers Addison adun jsn is it t so the tank over all of them the only exception are if you want to do the 107 with Odun which Odun basically
is going to be like you can make that case we just don't know a situation I like him a lot but they're very they're my dynasty rankings take like tank is like my wide receiver 11 Odun is my wide receiver 14 Drake London is my wide receiver 12 so they're really close together I don't mind it if you want to go Drake London but like his quarterback situation we still have no idea he's a very good wide receiver like his talent is awesome it's just I know what I'm getting with tank and I know I'm get
ting a very good player in one of the best situations in NFL so I'm happily just going to take the security with that like I think he has a high floor and a high ceiling the other guys I'm not so sure they have the floor that's my whole issue we basically like tank Dell at the top of tier four so then let's compare the bottom four of tier three above I guess there's five in the tier above him let's just say I'll name the five names you tell me if you're taking tank over any of them the top of th
e tier is Wadd then it's neighbors auk Devonte Smith Pitman is definitely oh no sorry I didn't mean to cut you off no no I was goingon to say you takeing Dell over any of them the only one I'm for sure taking over him is his neighbors I really don't want to pay the the reason the difference between Wadd and Dell for me is Dell could still be the wide receiver one in Miami I don't see that range of outcomes with Wadd unless he gets injured so like Wadd does not have that like he's a very good wid
e receiver but like I don't see him passing Tyreek Hill like we just saw how that offense shifted to Tyreek Hill he's been there so yeah Tyreek retires is what you gotta hope yeah we gota wait for two years right we got this year and then the next year when his contract runs out it's like I don't want to wait that long like what's the point so I'll take him over there I think neighbors is for sure the guy and then and same thing with like um auk I like auk a lot it's just he needs to get in a di
fferent situation because how many targets can that guy earn in the situation I just don't know until that offense shifts so they're all kind of grouped together um that's why it's back to back with like him and uh olave I think olave is a good really good wide receiver is the next one in the tier he's the bottom of tier two yeah they're they're all really similar the reason why I like tank is by he's usually the cheapest of that group by far so if I'm like I'm h's not even in that group he's be
ing he's being ranked like eight picks lower but so we could conceivably get him here to where we're on the border line of the the wide receiver one two range and he's coming in ranked at the bottom end like the wide receiver 23 range so you're getting him almost 10 to 12 picks below where he could conceivably finish so that's definitely potential there yeah that's that's kind of my case for him I was looking at ADP and I was like I don't fully understand why his ADP is so low like that's the wh
ole thing where like when I look at difference makers and I'm like it doesn't make sense in my head why so low so for seeing him where he's Curr listed at I was like that's a clear Buy to me like I want to Target and get him as many places as possible at that priz all right we're GNA switch then to your fer that is Minnesota tight end TJ Hawkinson going into his sixth season he has been W uh tight end 325 and 15 with Detroit and then tight end two and four with Minnesota last year 95 catches 127
targets 960 yards and five touchdowns he has not broken a thousand receiving yards in a single season um he is tight end four on keep trade cut five on fantasy pros 51st overall on keep keep trade cut 58 on fantasy pros in one QB rankings before I even get into any of that I'm looking at the fantasy pros rankings here for dynasty tight ends he is in tier two he's the top one of tier two which I found interesting I have him as the last one in tier tier one my tier one is leaport McBride Andrews
hackinson I feel like you're probably going to agree and say that's consensus you think that fits yeah and then we could the to oh I lost you a bit am I still there because my internet's pry right now so I can't there uh yeah I didn't hear most of what you said you're kind of here okay all so and we are back after a brief technical malfunction so I was saying I have tier one of tight ends as leaport McBride Andrews hackinson would you agree that's pretty standard you think yeah I would agree wit
h that with the exception Bowers is getting in there and I have Bowers ahead of hackinson as well so H that's that's not where that's not where we're going crazy here fantasy pros has Hawkinson as the top of tier two that's not crazy but I don't agree with it they're number four in tier one who do you think they're number four tight end is in tier one why do I feel like I'm missing somebody I need to look at ADP because I'm blanking on somebody's name no no you're not missing chelse no so then w
ait I'm confused younger um is it can Kade it's canade there he is my boy canade yes I disagree with that wholeheartedly I think there's potential but still like he did basically the same as Michael Mayer why do we have Michael Mayer at 16 and Dalton canade at four but anyways so um like I was saying that's what stood out to me is not so much that Hawkinson I think Hawkinson belongs in tier one I get him and Andrews are the bottom of tier one because they're far older than leapa and McBride but
to have him behind conade I don't agree with at all I could if you had told me Bowers was above him I can see it King K I don't I don't at all but okay uh why is uh hackinson a Faller for you besides you know apparently King kade's better than he is it's it's his current price when I'm looking on sleeper St he's tight end three he's still tight end three and he's going in basically the fourth round and I'm like why am I paying that premium price when I'm not going to get production basically the
entire year so I'm sitting on that cost and it's going to diminish as the season goes on and then it'll slowly kick back up towards the end of next year but like I don't want to deal with that price tag where if I'm buying someone at that price I want them to be a producer for me now or I want them to be a rookie where they can sky rocket in value it's just more I'm paying the premium and I don't see the return on it for at least another year so if that's the case case with him I'm just going t
o wait and kick it back like I have a couple hackinson shares and I'm just holding them because I can't sell them at these prices like no one's going to pay these prices for them now so I'm just waiting for the year to kick through and then he will gain like he's gonna do this whole like go down the volley he's gonna come back up and first but in the meantime I just don't want to pay that for him I think he's a very good tight end he proved his Situation's fine I don't know if Kirk Cousins is go
nna be there or not that's a whole another mystery with him so there's that on top of it like when he comes back is Kurt Cousins his quarterback we think so but we have no idea it could be a rookie or could be someone else so there's just a lot of history with him and if he comes back to be the same player because his injury is pretty severe he is going to be 27 and a half probably when he comes back so he'll be creeping on the older age like I'd much rather just pay for Mark Andrews if I'm goin
g to pay for an older is tight end who will produce now I don't have many shares of Hawkinson so it's tough for me like I had a whole bunch last year but I I did a thing or sorry I didn't have a whole bunch what I had was a whole bunch of Kelsey and I teared down in a lot of teams and went Kelsey for hackinson and a pick so I had a whole bunch of hackinson and a pick but the problem then well it wasn't say a problem it's what I wanted to do I then teared down once again I have a few teams maybe
four or five that turned kelse into hackinson in a pick and then I turned that into leaport and another pick so I have now leaport in two picks but I have an insane amount of teams where I went from hackinson in the pick down to Trey McBride and multiple picks and I just I ended up with a whole lot where I teared down from Kelsey to hackinson to McBride with multiple picks involved and now I have what looks to be the better tight end out of the three and a bevy of picks so I really took a shot o
n Trey McBride last year and for a long time people were calling me crazy and I'm really glad I stuck to my Trey McBride because I love that and but conversely like I said as a consequence I have almost no shares of Kelsey or hackinson left so when you chose hackinson I was like I don't really know how to value him I don't have any shares of him left so I wouldn't know what like if you were to put out trades for him I wouldn't know what to give you I wouldn't know what you'd get in return becaus
e I got rid of all my shares I don't think I have any shares of Andrews either so yeah I when Andrews got injured last year I immediately flipped him for Trey McBride like I those top six tight ends I sent out offers for everybody for some reason McBride was the guy people were giving up and I was like cool straight up I'll do it and people are like why would you do it straight up I'm like because he's an awesome young tight end and if he hits the value is going to go to the Moon I mean got luck
y with it yeah in the first four to six weeks of last year it's amazing the amount of tight ends I unloaded for either some leaport but a ton of McBride it seemed like everyone wanted rid of him I got Andrews Kelsey hawin I've got some Waller I got KD and joku all of these guys I was able to unload at some point for McBride and a pick and I just it it was best case scenario for me I I am just thrilled with my return on all of it people were so impatient with tryc Brad I mean his rookie season wa
s awful I get it man he was going for like third round picks it's wild yeah it's just all right well that concludes the 2024 Dynasty rookie risers and Dynasty risers and fallers with Jesse mhler I'm in rookie mode so everything's what's a rookie blah blah blah rookie rookie rookie it's not even rookie it's Dynasty risers and fallers but thank you for tuning in to the Mad Science Lab podcast brought to you by the combination of the fantasy football universe and the fantasy football advice network

Ok, here I go. Keep 7.03 (take Josh Jacobs) or trade that pick, 11.04 and 14.10 for 8.05, 9.11 and 13.08?
