Blue Zeus, the wild horse... was just captured! (neighing) And put in a tiny pen with a bunch of other wild horses, horses he doesn’t know,
horses who aren’t his family. Only a few hours ago,
Blue Zeus and his family had been running wild and
free, when suddenly... a helicopter showed up
and started chasing them! People had decided to move Blue
Zeus’ herd from their home so the land could be
used for other things. Blue Zeus and his family
didn’t want to leave, so they tried to run away,
but they
couldn’t outrun the helicopter, and
eventually they were caught. Now, Blue Zeus was stuck in this tiny pen, but worst of all, the people had moved his
family somewhere else. He was so worried about them. He didn’t know where they
were. What was he gonna do? But just when he was
starting to lose hope, this person showed up. Blue Zeus didn’t know who
she was, but apparently, she’d been looking for him. But why? Who was she? Well, the stranger’s name was Clare, and she was a horse rescuer. Clare l
oved wild horses and
wanted to keep them safe. Before he was caught, she had
seen Blue Zeus in the wild. She knew how important it was for this family to be together. “To wild horses, family is everything, and the bonds that they form
are so precious and so deep.” So when Clare saw that Blue Zeus’ family had been captured, she knew she had to do something. She had to save this horse family. There was just one problem. There were lots of horse
pens in all different places, and she didn’t know whi
ch ones Blue Zeus and his family were in. So, she became a wild horse detective, and after nine months, a
breakthrough! She found a clue to where Blue Zeus was being
held and headed straight there. Clare was ready to bust him out, but thankfully the people there
said that wasn’t necessary. They let her adopt him instead. Blue Zeus was free! But, where was Clare taking him? Clare couldn’t release Blue
Zeus back into the wild, where he would just be rounded up again. So instead, she brought him to
a very special place... her horse sanctuary, a place the helicopter
people weren’t allowed to go. Blue Zeus couldn’t believe
how huge the sanctuary was. It had tons of hills and
plenty of grass to eat, but he couldn’t stop thinking
about his missing family. Where were they? Were they OK? Clare promised she would
keep searching for them, and actually they weren’t the only horses she was trying to save. Because while she was
busy rescuing Blue Zeus, the helicopters had rounded
up even more wild h
orses. Horses like Goliath, a huge stallion who was
part of a wild herd. And just like blue Zeus,
Goliath and his family were chased by helicopters
and put into pens. Goliath was really
upset about being moved, about being stuck in a pen and about being separated from his herd. But most of all, he was
upset about losing the horse he loved most: Red Lady. She was his favorite
horse in the whole world. They’d been so happy together in the wild, just like Blue Zeus and his family, and he missed her
so much, but he’d never be able to find her if he couldn’t get out of this pen. But guess who showed up to help him just like she helped Blue
Zeus. That’s right, Clare. She convinced the people
to let her adopt Goliath and take him back to her sanctuary. Goliath couldn’t wait to stretch his legs and start exploring. This place almost felt like home, except it would never really
be home without Red Lady, which meant Clare had two
horse families to save! Actually, a lot more than that, because sh
e kept bringing more and more wild horses to the sanctuary. Blue Zeus wanted the next
horses to be his family, while Goliath hoped it would be Red Lady. But the next time Clare
opened her trailer, a horse they’d never seen
before came running out and did this? “So they say a horse who rolls all the way over three
times, and he did it four, is an exceptional horse.” This fiery new horse’s name was Phoenix. And the helicopter people
had rounded up his herd, too, along with his best friend, Ghost.
But this time, when they tried
to put the horses in pens, (neighing) Phoenix was like, “I don’t think so.” He jumped right over
the fence and escaped, but he couldn’t leave Ghost behind. So, he went back to try and save her, but they’d taken her somewhere else. She was gone. Had he lost her forever? That’s when Clare found him. She adopted Phoenix and brought
him to the sanctuary, too. Just like Blue Zeus and Goliath, he could run free, explore
and be his wild self. (neighing) And there were so
many
horses to be wild with, but without Ghost, something felt wrong. Clare was really starting to worry. How was she going to
reunite all these horses with their families? But then something amazing happened. (ringing) Clare’s phone rang, and it was Red Lady! Well, sort of. It was actually another animal rescuer, and she had found Red Lady. The rescuers knew the two
horses belonged together, so they put Red Lady on a trailer and brought her to Clare’s sanctuary too. And when Goliath saw
her and
she saw him... “Oh my gosh.” Goliath finally felt like he was home. Blue Zeus wanted to feel that way too, but Clare’s phone didn’t ring again. No one, not even other rescuers, knew where to find Blue Zeus’ family or Ghost. But Clare refused to give
up and kept searching. Then, one day while trying to
find where the horses were, Clare saw a picture online of a horse who needed a new home. She was white like Ghost but also had the same brown
ears and the same brown knees. It was Ghost! Clare had
found her! When Ghost arrived at the sanctuary, Phoenix was on the other side of the hill. Ghost let out a little neigh. (neighing) Phoenix couldn’t believe it. “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh.” “Phoenix and Ghost back together again.” They’d missed each other so much. Blue Zeus was so happy
for Phoenix and Ghost, but he couldn’t stop wondering,
“When would it be his turn?” He’d already been apart from his family for over nine months. And what if Clare never
saw his family in a photo or got a phone cal
l from another rescuer? But then, Blue Zeus heard something. It was Clare’s horse trailer arriving. Could it be? It was. After months of searching, Clare had found all of Blue Zeus’ family. “Here he comes.” “He’s running to his family.” When Blue Zeus finally saw them, he could hardly believe it. “Look at him go, high-trotting. Family running after him.” “Look how proud.” “They’re Like, “Dad, where have you been?” “You got your family back.” In no time at all, it was like they were never apart.
Blue Zeus was so grateful
to Clare and to be at the sanctuary, surrounded
by friends like Phoenix and Ghost, and Goliath and
Red Lady, and best of all... his family, in a place where
they would always be safe, always run free and always be together.
