oor today tell us more yeah it was valo it wasn't very easy to do uh House Republicans were split on how they wanted to vote for this bill today and all of the house Democrats were on board with sending this bill to the AL to alabamians attention the bill passes state representatives say it's on state senators now to give the people of Alabama a vote on gaming the body passed two bills to create a state wide Lottery legalized sports betting and casino style games so lay your cards down down down
down so park your lexes and throw your keys up stick around round round round round Texas hold them but we're in Alabama today Democratic representative gualin gavan and 70 other Representatives passed a constitutional amendment that alabamians would need to vote on to enact it's been 25 years for the since people of Alabama has been a will give their voice in addition to legalizing various forms of gambling the Constitutional Amendment offers the porch Band of Creek Indians one of seven casino
business licenses and outlines a temporary licensing process for existing gaming operations and they will event start paying that 24% tax that was in the bill as well too we'll start collecting those taxes from those that do receive a temporary license the second bill approved by Representatives creates the Alabama gaming commission to regulate casinos and sports betting the expenses of the commission would be paid by the gaming trust fund though some representatives are concerned that bringing
gaming to Alabama is not a winning deal people have access to gambling it it creates addictions and is one of the hardest addictions to break it takes people's money it takes their homes it takes their families and if we make this more accessible to these things in our state there is no doubt that those things will increase and following the passage of this bill Governor k i released a statement saying that in the current form she will continue to support these bills Val thanks a lot Aaron it's
important to note these bills still need to be approved by the Senate and the governor before alabamians can vote on it that that will most likely happen in November
