just last week many of you were probably yelling throw me something M about a week later and the Marty girl be you CAU her probably causing clutter yeah Jesse Edwards is live at ball High School in Galveston with a very special program okay so after the part's over where do the beads go or where should they go rather we're live at ball High School school with Mr Rob Lewis one of the founders of what we're in the tour store okay you got to tell us how this all works well uh guys we are a special
education and business initiative so our students that are special education and business students work together to run a retail signage and apparel business and we also work with the yagas foundation to recycle more than 250,000 Marty grow beads each year that are taken from the streets oh wow so people can bring them here or y'all just collect or how do you usually do it absolutely so outside of ball High School on 41st and O in Galveston Texas we have six or seven yellow bins just come and dr
op your Beats off at any time and then our kids will sort them reorganize them and repackage them for sale okay so let's take a look at what that looks like you guys have tons of beads that you that you have to store and sanitize um okay so how long does that process usually take really it's a year-long process uh and it's I would say never ending never ending which is a good thing yes and this is something that benefits the students here absolutely all proceeds go back to our special education
and business students to expand program services to help the community it really is a cool cool project focused on sustainability all right so everyone's learning a little something okay very cool we got Jay here who hi Jay thanks for coming in okay so what are you what do you learn from this program beads for needs so with beads for needs uh I just sort the beads I make well the horer in general I do a lot of things make posters but whenever Marty gos around do we do a lot of bead sorting selli
ng beads bagging beads and this program it's prettyy cool I interact a lot of people I don't usually interact with it's not like not it is a ball high class but it's not a normal class where like you talk to like one or two people I know everybody in here we all talk to each other work together real fun class really f it looks like a really fun class okay guys we're going to have more on this program coming up in the next hour we'll see for now Chelsea Edwards Fox 26 news
