The Round the World Guys

We're Michael and Halef and we've been traveling  fulltime in our camper van across North America. This week we are driving down from Canada to reach  New Mexico for a solar eclipse van life event called Moonlanding. it's cool, and in our opinion,  this rare solar eclipse is best viewed with others, a vanlife community style. Just uh all the  people together for you know shared experience I guess an hour later just one man in it that's Hoover Dam can't really  see it though you see it Michael re
ally Welcome to Arizona continue on  us93 South for 70 m finally we reach New Mexico and we're talking about  the remote and rugged part of the state it's quite challenging road to get  here and it is a very dusty road and as a result our vent is covered with dust - ew we  definitely need a van wash after this. Dirty Tesla! All right we just arrived in the Moonlanding event and currently they have a karaoke  welcoming party at the main camp, but before that bundle up because it is  a very cold n
ight outside still about 40s but therefore the beanies are out, gloves are  out, and we're going to check out the karaoke event oh yeah yeah a lot of things going on so we're  going to enjoy the night and we're going to check with you tomorrow morning with  a complete tour of the place and the event. Good morning y'all, Josiah the  organizer told us it's about 400 tickets sold for the Moonlanding event anything from the  van conversion School Bus, RVs, Overlander trucks, and even Drive the Globe
vehicle is here so this  whole area is ready to start the party or it's already started actually she's tricking you in no  and these guys here have the premium spots because they are parked next the cliff which is makes the  whole thing is a messa Plateau or but it's quite spectacular to see everything from above the  ledge here down for 30 minutes breakfast burit awesome thank you so much I appreciate it enjoy sausage thank you so much highlight of  this morning's activities is the breakfast b
urritos it is sponsored by feather built  the line is long but it is worth having the burritos for breakfast yeah starting the day  right so I'm going to enjoy this a lot this is awesome good thank you good I'm glad you enjoy  it there are lots of activities throughout the weekend to enjoy everything big old Spike  cream cheese well thank you that's good anything from the clothing swap event a few  workshops to check out local Navajo history talk - Navigation Workshop like North is your  Anchor
Point it's the place where you kind of land into like we know that so put your red in  the shed means I turn working 101 Z square that way when you're cutting you get a nice piece  and I always check DJ Workshop for beginners when I press stop it stops and today I  decided to join in the Southwest Plant Ocotillo 101 by medicine bus what's your name  Eric Eric I'm Halef hi I don't even know if I mentioned my name currently we are attending the  Ocotillo Workshop it's a plant that we' seen all ove
r southwestern United States that we love and  supposedly there are a lot of medicinal properties of aao how long have you been doing uh plant  medicines probably 12 years the medicine bus has been around for three or four wow and then  we're going to peel the outer green bark and then we can go over um the different ways of  how you can repair it did you bring that rock with you or did you specific one oh they're  just around so yeah this is all we're doing we're just trying to get this outer g
reen bark  is what we want you can also use the roots too but for the plant sake this is the best stuff and  now we're just harvesting the outer bark of the plant the inner part smells pretty good you  can eat it if you want to the greenish yellow part tastes like a granish Smith apple skin  but it's a little bit less sweet and then you can make sunti out of it and it's good for your  prostate so good thing to know about Aqua wow that is so cool well tinure is just a very  potent um way to have
tea on the road kind of it's like great grandma's cough medicine  okay like even cough syrup has alcohol this cloudiness will go to the bottom sure also  wanted to mention it's really good for swer roots some colds and flu really good for the  immune system so we just want to take about that much it is strong so if you don't like  alcohol I like to make it a little strong so it doesn't go bad yeah it'll it's it's strong I  don't know that I'm going to take as much as you oh keep going Terry keep
going my mind  is it good it's good it's strong and it's good for you I'm really inspired this  is so cool I have a lot of things for sale on the other side there we'll check  that out the hell is this horse I ride don't it's a cooking demonstration now provided  by Tembo Tusk I make desserts I do uh breakfast with uh like pancakes and that's it no pots and pans  cuz as as you know on the road water is a resource you can only carry so much so you're done then  you treat it with a little bit of
oil because it is steel Hi how are you meatless meatless it's  over here perfect there you go here oh sure thank you don't you love cooking demonstration that's pretty inspiring Tembo Tusk  is an Adventure Gear seller and they sell stove and some accessories I'm quite interested in  we going to put it in our bucket list to have thank you OTAs from here to get into my fighting  stance all I have to do a step forward now I'm in my stance where I can punch kick knee which  we're going to go over he
re we learned so much about self-defense and how to travel solo within  the vanlife community and a few self defenses that a lot of people learn including myself  this is a really useful skills to have on the road not ready for a good time we got s'mores  by explor and sunfare going to get a B cheer for it's time to make our own  s'mores a classic move get a stick a few marshmallows gram crackers  and Hershey's chocolate bar all right roast the marshmallow on the open fire  put them between the
crackers and the hery kind of make a mess and enjoy that  Divine treats fresly made so good that's more than good enough this is the best  way to enjoy the night's event around the campfire to the tears all right y'all good morning today is  the day when we're going to witness the solar eclipse that's awesome awes and this morning  we're going to have biscuit and gravy as well as scrambled eggs it's going to be good people  already lining up and we going to grab plate and head out to the line aw
esome thank you  so much all righty there we go thank you no problem sausage gravy yes please where would  you on the biscuit on the biscuit please wor right thank you so much welcome enjoy thank  you starting the day right with a great breakfast starting and don't look at it starting  so it is officially started and we got our solar eclipse Shades they provided by moonshade since  we're not the sky photographer so we don't really have a lot of equipment to do it but it seems  like if we put the
glasses over the lens or the phone or a camera actually works so we're going  to try that telescope over there and over here behind me there's an official party with an  expert that we could answer any questions you may have on solar eclipse good morning are you  Tim yeah hi big telescope monitor screen and the celestial music's happening in the background  it's definitely a vibe to view this really rare event oh sorry it's cool it just seems to be out  of World Experience here with the music h
appening by Allen the Landscapes the tree  branch I really enjoy this the telescope is like pretty cool well actually it's very  cool but it's also boiling like at that temperature it's got one of these well you filter  the light out and the radiation filter on the top yeah it is noticeably getting darker  and getting colder it's incredible it's kind of cool that you seen the  Transformer yeah absolutely we have 100% the to the max to the max wow it  doesn't show with the regular camera but you
put this on come after so this is  10:35 and this is the peak of the solar eclipse and right now it just feels a lot  colder and I forgot to put my sunglasses to look up oh yeah you could see the rain New  Mexico is supposed to be about 90% of the uh Eclipse not 100% but it's much better than  the rest of the country kind of you feel it too wow you can actually see the ring of fire that  what they call it almost there it is bizarre I mean the Shadows the lighting just very different  and if you
look at the shadow it's really blurry yeah Shadow right it's just weird I I use my  ears your earring yeah you can see the eclipse Shadow through the hole yeah oh no kidding perfect  line up yeah and we're doing the most thing to do during a solar eclipse the colander experiment it  definitely looks different is yeah the crescents coming from the colander yeah so cool looking  world is bigger than you and so is the universe that is so profound the I never experienced  anything like this before w
hat do you think it's pretty cool speechless yeah hasn't done  Ring of Fire just uh all the people together for you know shared experience I guess oh yeah  all right that's it guys I hope you really enjoy this video as much as we like making it so if you  do please give a thumbs up if you want to follow along with our journey all around North America  and Beyond hit that subscribe button and thank you for watching there's a total solar eclipse  April 8th the path of totality will go from West Te
